I was hopeing the Opel Speedster could be my new weapon... its about a second slower over all than my RX-7, split at T3 looking like... 1'04.xxx If only could bolt on a turbo :D

I seem to be going the oppisite way some people are with the stablizers... runing 6/7 on the RX-7 and the Opel... tried 1/1 on both, and found I didn't like it as much.

BTW, Kent, you mind if I sumbit a couple of different times, for various cars. Use the bset for the scoring, and put the others as honorable mentions... cause I ran like 100 miles in the Speedster, probably more soon... such a fun car to drive. Just an idea though...

No real improvements... but I know I have alot left in me, just need to put it all together...

Wow, it's been awhile since I've participated, heck I havent picked upt he controller for almost 2 months until now.

Wow, Division 2 is rocking!! I don't think I even have a chance for top 3!

Anyway here's what I have...RX-7 Type RZ:

T1 - 15.436
T2 - 43.759
T3 - 1'04.714

Also, what speeds are everyone hitting with the Camaro and other cars? I'm hitting about 135mph when I cross the finish line.

Tuff240...where's the leaderboards?? Got bored of doing that??

Sorry Mr Smallhorses.

I actually didn't even look at the leader board since your time was put up. lol.

Last time I looked at it was yesterday sometime (I think).
The camaro SS you say?
Interesting pick, I still haven't looked at the other american cars.

Going to go race now, talk to you all when I make a little progress.
Till then,

I loved doing it actually. Just don't have the time at the moment.
Luxy took over the leaderboard duties and I'm sure he can attest to it taking up more time than you think it would.

With Luxy taking over at least I have found some time to keep reading the posts and occasionally reply and do some running. Just enough running to figure it all out, but never enough time to actually put it all together. Oh well, at least I get to play a little bit.

Leaderboard link: http://www.luxy.ca/wrs/leaderboard/

And while we are on the subject... Thanks Luxy! 👍

Never have been one for convention ;)
Remember Week 84

Smallhorses
Damn, no Mini for me this week then!

Still, thought I'd pick something marginally competitive this time!!!

I'm thinking of having a go at this one. I had a look yesterday at the NSX (was too expensive) but I noticed something weird. There are two NSX's ( both have 276hp), the Type S Zero is 40Kg heavier but has a lower Pwr/Kg Ratio  weird. I might give it a try in the ZZII!!!

Is the ZZII a car you can purchase from the car dealer ?

So far I tried the S2000 type V and the Lancer Evo VII but they can't keep up with the posted times (at least when I drive).
Then I ran 2 laps in the RX-7 RZ and have a best lap at 1'06.6, but there's not much fun in using the same car as everybody, tuning it with someone else's settings and still be 2 or 3 seconds slower than them.
I'll keep on looking for another car that can keep up with the rest of the pack.

Smallhorses
T1 14.805
T2 42.825
T3 1'03.262

Good to see my T1 and T2 are respectable, now to work on T3 :)

Here are the T times from my new fastest lap, with the Corvette Grand Sport :)
P/W 3.053

T1: 14.875
T2: 42.835
T3: 1:03.716

Damn Damn my T3 could be at least a 1:03.4 or even a .3 :(
I must practise that corner after the 1st tunnel and the left hander after the 2nd tunnel!

Kent
Don't hesitate to ask about the supra and setting it up.

Well, right now it's built for speed. I find that when it's stock, it handles pretty good in the corners. At least the way I drive.

Stage 2 turbo
racing intercooler
stage 2 lightweight
triple clutch
racing flywheel
carbon driveshaft
sports brakes

here's where i made a decision i may change
semi-racing suspension
full transmission

i haven't changed the gears at all, since I don't know how yet (maybe this weekend i'll figure it out) but with the full tranny I can hit 140 just after the finish line, makes for a good start. but if I learn how to set up the suspension properly this weekend, it may be better to go with the full suspension and maybe the racing or sports tranny.

lowered to 104/104
shock absorbers 7/7
stabilizers at 2/3
asm 0
tcs 1

I changed nothing at first but with these settings I found that I didn't get the back end slipping out on me in the corners as much.

The leaderboard is full!!- good race on this week

And I still enjoy beeing the only one going for light weight, instead of bhp´s
-The ZZS, and i think my my lap with it was smashing.
Im not last, and ahead of a couple of Rotarys :)

GT1-2-3, GTC, GTP 100% gold
Div.1 GTP
GT4-on arrival.

Oh no Jos Verstappen is coming!

Well, I had a chance to look at my lap again last night before I went to bed, T3 is in the 1:07.2xx range. :ouch: So, I guess I'll be hard at work this weekend.

Any of you tuners want to share with me some of your methods of going about playing with the settings? I just don't seem to know where to start, so many things to mess with... :nervous:

Oke,here is my car choice for this week.

Motor sport Elise
cost 100,000
settings ASM 0 TCS 0
207 BHP

T1 16.922
T2 47.890
T3 1'09.983 ;)

He he. I tried that one too. Just for fun though. Could be interesting to mod a standard Elise!

Will give the WRS a decent go tomorrow. The doc says I have a bad dose of the flu and that I should rest. :(

Corps
here's where i made a decision i may change
semi-racing suspension
full transmission

Corps, I'd say that the full racing transmission is essential. It makes a huge difference to your accelleration and top speed when the transmission is tuned properly. A good place to start is with the Tranny Trick / Gear Trick (most of us here in the weekly use the tranny trick almost every week).

Monty, I'm gonna take that as a challange... prepare for light weight car assault!! I have my pride as an light weight MR specialist to uphold damnit!

That, and I'm getting tired of trying to get that damnable RX-7 to go faster... :D

I need to get back into the groove of things. i think I lost my touch for this race already. Happends to me everytime. I post the top T time for D2 and don't even bother to improve on it. Anyaways to get back on the matter of times I had a sweet 1'03.2 but when I saw the replay I had a silght knick against the wall on the 2nd to last corner before T3 :ouch: .

Sorry to hear that touge. ;) lol. jk.

Corps,
I never use the tranny trick.
Just never take the time too. :ouch:

I always leave the tranny at stock settings, then move the final drive ratio until I'm topping out properly.

Sjaak68,
In my opinion, the Motor Sport Elise is a race car.
In the games description at the title screen for the car it is also described as a race series specific car. (the lotus elise racing series)
So really, I would have to say you can't use it... but then again, the sucker can't really keep up without some mods (which you can't afford on the budget).

So go ahead and use it, but don't do any mods other than oil and tires.
Otherwise you will be breaking the budget rule. ;)
(this except is only for the motor sport elise btw )

Finally...
Light weight racing!
Yes, you have all managed to catch my attention and I am going to go spend some time in a light weight runner (once I find one I like).

Back with results for it and some more thoughts on the race.
Till then,

Hmmmm ... competition for me, eh? DIV 3 IS MINE! You will surely parish in my dust (:

ill take that as an challenge :trouble:

i tryed the RX earlier today and man it beated my S2000 times totally :D not a suprise tough :ouch: gotta check for better settings for it tough... some crappy settings atm
T3 1'06.5xx if i remember it right :yuck:

Pink_the_Floyd
You know, the supra is not that bad :dopey: 👍

It's the best non American car to use this week ;) . I tested it today, and I believe I managed to drive a 1'03.6 T3, with the Supra having the possibility of driving a fast last sector. It's enjoyable to drive too :dopey:

Fun to drive also is the 300ZX. About 2 seconds slower than the 2 Vettes and the RX7. It's a little bit too heavy and the rear can't handle all that torque too well.

@Kent: You've made a good choice with the Z06 👍 . I've got almost the same time with it as in the Grand Sport, only 0.01 slower!

The 2 Vettes and RX7 are the best bets, each of them is capable of winning this race. The Mustang and the 2 Camaro's follow on a short distance...

Well, I got bored... again :D

Ran the MR-S turboed... produced a T3 of 1'05.3xx. Its alot of fun to drive, just wish it had a bigger engine :D Maybe I can shoehorn a big old V8 Northstar :dopey: in there (hey, someone did it to a first gen MR2 ;) )

As far as lightweight cars go, meaning under 1000kg... the Opel is doing best from my driving, its right next to Monty. Haven't tried out the ZZ-S yet... never much liked that car though. Kinda ugly and a bit too twitchy even for me :p

Yay Kent, try the light weights!! They are fun. More than capable of handling much more powerful cars, just as long as they aren't being driven by the crazies here. People here vs normal people not even funny :indiff:

BTW, Monty, could you tell me what tuning you did to your ZZ-S... I'm curious to see what you did, as I couldn't squeeze out a PWR all that close to 3.000 with the Elise while still doing my regular routine for tuning...

Well, I’ll think me car won't gain anymore power @ 281 miles 480hp/ pwr 3.016. I was able to go under 42 at the second split and tried to get cute approaching T3 which eliminated my chances of seeing a very fast lap with the SVT :(

Best save thus far
14.721
42.224
1’03.023

Finally got a chance to do some more runnin :D Tried out a few different cars.

Silvia K's 2000cc:
15.6
44.9
1'06.5

GT-Four:
15.5
44.6
1'06.0

Skyline (R33)
15.3
44.1
1'05.1

Then tried the Z06, just to see how much of my slowness is me, and how much is the car.

Best so far with the Z06:
14.9
43.0
1'03.5

I'm pretty suprised about the corvette, actually. I've always thought of it as a bit of a beast, but it's quite fun to drive :) Still got a few others to try ... maybe that Supra (I've never driven one before)

Race car? Strange,I use the same car every day when I go to work

Kent,I read it about the racing series now and i don't want to brake the rules.
I shall choose an other car.

Great... now you'll actually be competetive... :D

And seriously drive a Motorsport Elise in real life?

I think I might go see what a 3000GT VR-4 can do... its big and heavy... with a turbo :p

I keep managing to pull of a fast section, but I can't put it all together in the RX-7.

On the flip side... learned more about tuning... I like stiff setups, work better for me 👍
