Hey all!

:D

Well, my weight restriction rules being removed made a big difference.

Now a few of the overweight cars are availible for great competition. 👍

1'03.6 with my "heavier" car.

Still though, I think you all just need to look a little closer at what is availible and eventually you will see the best cars. ;)

Right now I have tested 2 and both came in under 1'04.

Next I will test one of the less capable cars, hopefully it will keep up closely.

And remember fellas, using weight reductions are allowed. 👍
That will surely make this atleast a 2 car fight. ;)

1'03.2 within 5 laps. Going to test some other cars that (I think) are potential...

Hello!

Back with more testing results. :D

1'03.2 is the current best out of my bigger, heavier, more powerful car.

However, the handling on that sucker is just sickening when I get out and compare it to the lighter car with close to as much power.

I've also found a third car but it's too light and not powerful enough for my taste. :(
Could be a good one for some of you though. ;)

That's about it from me for now... (1'03.2)

Sure enough though, I will be back and hopefully this time I will have some times from a few cars of a different type. :trouble:

Till then,
-Kent

Are we not supposed to reveal wich car we`re using?

I have decided wich one, but It wont be fastest .Better make it as good as possible, I dont have time to find the ultimate car.

T1 16.004
T2 46.053
T3 1.05.055

Get well RacyBacy! I had that crap last week; and it was "#%(=&%)£$][´

You guys... what are those damned cars? Stupid special cars... screw the fanboys Kent, screw 'em. :D

I just got back from a few more runs...

T1 - 15.637
T2 - 44.189
T3 - 1'05.182

I still have about 2 grand left... so I can shave the weight a little bit :sly:

Still, I might just rebuild this car now...

EDIT - Weight dropped by one stage... and wow

T1 - 15.312
T2 - 43.878
T3 - 1'04.685

But I shaved more than a second off the full lap time, and I know I can get more outta it, alot more...

Did about 10 laps in about 5 different cars.
My latest car seems to be doing pretty well.

15.942
45.505
107.653

I keep messing up in the T3 section, A few times I've hit it really well, but I can't do it consistently.

Dropping weight will reduce your P/W ratio. Just make sure you didn't go under 3.0. ;)

I'm tired of trying out cars, takes forever.

well i have the mr2 gts and this is what i have

T1: 15.336
T2: 44.218
T3: 1:05.523

what is this uber car????

At first I thought I had found Kent's prize car. You see, I drive like ass and scored a 1'06.xxx with my zoom zoom that mister Wankel would be proud of. Then I noticed that he was talking about a heavy car, which this one (in blue mind you) is not at all. In fact, I had over 20,000 credits left, PWR of 2.5, and ran a 1'02.xxx before I realized my PWR was so stinking low. So I fixed that and still ran great times (moved money from power to handling / suspension).

I'm guessing I've got a great car, I just need to learn how to drive it.

Mister Wankel made a nice toy ;)

I tried the MR2 GT-S... but I knew of a faster car Iwould still like to drive... I might go back and look at the MR2 some more

What is the uber car... I must know, even if I don't use it...

6 faststest cars I've tried so far are:
SVT Cobra R 1'05.3 dirty with a 1'04 in it for sure.
RX-7 RZ/RS 1'05.0 clean with a little more left in it for me. I like driving this car.
Z06 1'05.3 dirty, has a bit more, but I don't care for it much.
Skyline V Spec: 1'05.5 in a short test session. Had good grip, should go 1'04's also.
MR2 GT-S 1'05.2 dirty. I don't like MR cars, I'll leave this one for someone else.
Ruf 3400S 1'05.6 clean. Need more time to test that one.

Other cars I tried...
Viper
Evo 6 RS
Scuby 22B
Lotus Elise 190
Lotus Motor Sport Elise
Celica GT4

What's left to try?
Speed 6
Griffith 500
300ZX (doubtful)
Supra RZ
Corvette GS

Oh, and Tuff.. don't worry, I checked the PWR... its at 3.079 now, so its all good 👍

How'd the Celica GT-4 do? I'm a bit curious, as I'm always fighting horrendous understeer in it :indiff:

All the cars I listed w/o times I quickly gave up on. They just didn't seem fast enough overall. I will try the Viper again one more time with a different configuration though. I built all of my cars towards hp. In other words I added HP until it was down to 3.0 (or close), then spent the rest of the money on suspension, brakes and tranny. Some cars that wasn't possible, so I lightened them to get it to 3.0 also.

I don't think there is an uber car, just uber tuning and uber driving. ;)

If I had to pick one car to be fastest though, I'd guess Cobra R. It has by far the highest speed at the start/finish line.

Exact oppisite idea I take... I get suspension and drivetrain first.. then maximize power. Both seem to have merits, as we both seem to have good times at the moment...

well here is my car,

Corvette Grand sport with
Na stage 2
Racing suspension
Racing gearbox
Racing Flywheel
Brakes
Brake Balance Controller
Carbon Driveshaft
Twin Clutch
Oil Change
T8 tires

with a few more km's to be run in i have p/w of 3.084 (485hp) max hp is 496 with current weight so even with it run in it wont be under p/w of 3

T1: 15.355
T2: 43.752
T3: 1:04.408

this lap is clean baby :).

As ive shared my fastest car so far id like to see other cars as fast or faster than this one shared.

Touge Master what car are you gettin a 1:03.3 in ????

Okay... I'm using the RX-7 Type RZ, with 390 HP

Just ran...

T1 - 15.318
T2 - 43.635
T3 - 1'04.081

These types of comps are interesting because it invites you to try things that may not be very obvious. I wanted to see what the FTO and the Silvia K’s 2000cc could do  . There are a few first choices here so I tried some less hopefuls.

Think I found the car that suits me best. After purchasing a new car and checking the specs I ran it a few to see what it could muster. It might not be the fastest but it’s the kind of car I like to drive on this sort of track.

14.919-42.735-1’03.643

I have to monitor my pwr cos’ it’s getting close to 3.0!

It’s American and only comes in one color :dopey:

Hello,
:drunk: ;)

Just got back from a night out and it seems like the thread just blew up with activity and I'm glad to see it. :D

At first in this race I just wanted to respect people.
I didn't want to let my testing ruin other people's learning, I didn't want to let my anxious excitment ruin a secret car.

However, I've seen a bunch of you come out with great ideas complimented by an open and friendly racing atmosphere... And so... I am dropping the ball (so to speak). lol.
(btw, corvette Grand Sport 👍 )
( Look here! & Here! ... Just had to do it since I've been here so long).

Right now the best car in this race is the RX7 RZ or RS (IMO).
No weight reductions.

Thanks to the "low" price you can tune with most of the full custom parts.
Then with 1270kg the car is setup perfectly to keep the weight low without going low enough to ruin overall power.

In almost no time and with little effort I managed to bring the RZ down to low 1'04s.

However!
Fear not! This will not be a one car race (unless your a realist following hugo boss lol).

I am running The Z06!

Hopefully you guys will come up with some interesting setups for the various cars in the race.
But!
Let it be known...
I am not looking at the results this week in the same way as other weeks.
This week is a week where we can all try to do our best with different cars.

Just think about how nice it would be to stay with-in 1.000 seconds of all the other cars when you're using an Ev0 or a WRX STI!

Sure, that might not mean much to some of you, but to many of us it is valuable... Not just for reputation as a racer, but as a show of character. :D
(btw, after all these wins I am thinking this week hugo should be bound to racing only the S2000!)

Btw, the S2000 is a fun car for this course... Tested it already and the torque sucks just as much as you would expect, but with 1240kg and 400+ hp it can be quite a fun ride.

Any way...
I'm gonna be around the forums for another 10 minutes or so and after that it's sleep sleep sleep. :D

Hope to hear from some of you tonight but if not tomorrow will hopefully come.
Till then,
-Kent :sly:

Well Kent, if it makes you feel better, I seriously tried to race the MR-S at first... was getting T3s around 1'05.8xx. The RX-7 is just so much faster and still handles well, feels almost like an MR car rather than an FR.

Still, I'll see what else I can dig up at the moment to use. Might shock myself. And must not touch domestic heresy... it will burn me... and my precious import brain :dopey:

Actually,
I do understand. :D

It's always fun to go fast, but I do appreciate your efforts in the MR2.

Personally, I feel that the Rx7 is the car for this race.
It is awesome, plain and simple. :D

The Z06 is the one for me though (atleast until I play with my 4wd lol).

I will be back tomorrow with more on my progress but until then...
Later. :D

Well my first choice was the Z06 one of my favorites :) followed by the Griffith cos’ it’s powerful and light. I’d go for a 4wd but this car I’m in now is well, fun to get around in :dopey:
Couldn’t see under 1’06 with the Silvia or the FTO I was driving :nervous:

It’s not blue with a stripe either Tuff. . . And put Hugo in a Mira this week!

Forget that!
I will give him another week and stick him in the mira for every week to follow!

Also... The griffith 👍
Same goes for the tuscan.
I was going to test it but with such an outrageous price it was hardly worth my time. ;)

Although a sport tran and sport suspension might do it well. :D

Still though,
I'm sticking to my 6... Z06 that is.

yeah, i took a look at the grand sport and thought wow, its a zo6 only 14,000 cheaper.

i will test the rx7 though i really like my grandsport, it does understeer heavily so if anyones got some suspension settings for it i would love to see them, and if people want to see my settings i will post them as well.

EDIT!!

Tested the rx7 and got a lap time .04 quicker than my best in the corvette and the rx7 isnt run in properly yet (416 hp)

the corvette eats it alive up the back straight and espically the hill just pass the T2 (1 - 2 car lengths) but every where else the RX 7 was just as fast if not faster. The RX7 is way way way easier to drive and i can nail the first S bends flat out with out hitting the wall and keeping 2 tires on the track nearly every time yet with the corvette its extremly hard due to heavy understeer. I belive with good settings to make the corvette turn better both cars have equal chance. I will continue to use both cars and i will submit the fastest time i get.

Just got back from bashing out the RX-7 some more...

Broke it in... changed the oil... power is at 393 now... PWR is 3.005 :scared:

Some new times as well..

T1 - 15.269
T2 - 43.395
T3 - 1'03.825

I'm gonna bash out an SW20 I think before the week is out... love that car. The MR-S is just awesome on the corners... but that back straight... it honestly stick just a little behind the RX-7 ghost till right there... and then loses like almost 2 seconds :indiff:

The GT-S has more oomph... so it may fair better.
