13.237 got a lil bit more to get out of it. amazing to get these times with this car+minor mods

Nice improvement... yes it is a solid car with just some minor tuning. Really respectable.

Yeah...he and I were chatting about my series and then I think he saw that we were active again, so that's my fault. :D It's good to have him back, too.

Cheers,
Jetboy

Oh okay, I see :)

Current Leaderboard

13.099 – KLR142
13.223 – musclecarlover
13.237 – V8ETER
13.289 – kennythebomb
13.298 – 32' Lover
13.343 – Jetboys427
13.377 – darkwind
14.397 – SERGE.DENAYER

This is where everyone stands right now. Already the times are mostly very close to each other, each spot is going to be fought for hard. I can't wait to see a good battle :) I have a feeling this leaderboard is going to change significantly within the next two days.

At any rate, it's nice to see eight people already. Our average each week has been eight, and there should be a few guys running within the next two days - so it looks like the series is growing :)

*looks ay leaderboard* Blech. Time to get back at it..

Cheers,

Once again I've managed to completly destroy my setup. Maybe I should actually use those extra setup tabs once in awhile... Oh well, based on that leaderboard I need to do some more tinkering... maybe throw an extra body in the trunk.... <_<

haha i think we have all had that happen trying to find crazy ways to get better times. i made the 454 go from mid 13s to high 15s somehow then managed to get it back down

OK, I officially hate this car.

13.336

I can't even repeat that time and I haven't even touched my setup.

Well I really could not shave off much time at all in my late night lession last night. It seems this week I am really sucking in general at life.

13.276 is my final time.

Liar! :p

Unfortunately, no... just ask the women I was dancing with Wednesday night. I was doing horrible and just took a long time to learn the new moves. Hopefully tonight I'll be better.

Today is Friday and guess what! The deadline is fast approaching.

Or so you thought.

You have until 12 (midnight) ET, so basically 8 hours from this post. Don't expect this to happen very often anymore.

This means all of you (except me) have all of tonight to wring some more tenths out of this Chevelle 👍

i think we have squeezed just about all that can be with this car and the mods, i don't know how the hell KLR got it below .2 let alone .1

i cant get it below 14.000:ouch:

Sorry!

No participation this week!

Don't like American muscle cars, and didn't really have the 'need for speed' this week.

I give up. What I posted was my final.

Oldy! Slowpoke! :-P

:) Thanks guys. My settings are:
Stage 1 NA tuning, Port Polish, N3 tires, Full Custom tranny, Racing Flywheel... 522hp

Transmission gearing:
3.020
1.927
1.363(this is what I did the 13.099 run with, but that was lucky. I can do 13.113/.114 consistently with this gear set to .362. .363 is more prone to excessive wheelspin)
1.020
.800
.670
5.500

Start in third gear at full throttle. For the 1.363 setting, you need to tinker with how you hold the throttle before the launch, because if you just floor it the whole time, you'll usually just do a huge burnout. I managed one lucky run where it was just PERFECT and I did the 13.099... Shift around 6000rpm for 3rd to 4th, then around 5750 or sooner for the next few shifts.

13.307:tup:

correction 13.298 now

tried again and went to 13.199

hold on, i geuss you didnt see that i edited my times respons so that now my current time is now 13.199 as of wed.

Yeah, I remember seeing the .199, for what it's worth... 👍

Okay, I can see that you last edited it before the deadline, so I will change the results and the leaderboard in the week 6 thread. :)

It's a VERY good idea to make a new post when you make improvement - I don't always catch when people revise their original post. I didn't even look at any of the posts before the one in which I posted my leaderboard when I posted the results last night. So if you want to avoid confusion, make a new post 👍

How much weight do you have in the back?

I ran your tranny settings with 200, +50, and got a 13.122

"Shift around 6000rpm for 3rd to 4th, then around 5750 or sooner for the next few shifts."

You weren't kidding... Using your setup, I was getting 13.349 until I shifted like how you were. I was shifting near redline like I always do. So by trying your shifting technique and using my transmission, I got 13.078.

Niiiiiice. You didn't try shifting earlier?!?! Tsk tsk... 👍

And that's a yep on the 200, +50 settings for the weight.

What was your gearing? There truly wasn't that much to mine... Other than getting the launch perfect.

I'll have to look at my gearing another time - but I can tell you this much. I'm starting off in third, and using a bit of skill to get the right launch. Even with 200 pounds in the rear, if I do full throttle the entire time I will spin forever. So twice I have to let off just slightly, and it takes a bit of work to do it right. I'm also maxing out in 6th gear.

I didn't try shifting earlier because I've been used to every single other car being of a more modern engine where the correct shiftpoint is farther into the redline... d'oh

Cool. :)
