Hi everyone. This week we will be running...

LMP CARS!

Welcome to the new generation of drag racing... 700+ horsepower monsters that will set a trail of fire behind them.

List of Eligible Cars:

2001 Audi R8
2003 Bentley Speed 8 Race Car
1999 BMW V12 LMR Race Car
1998 Nissan R390 GT1 Race Car
1999 Panoz Esperante GTR-1 Race Car
2003 Pescarolo Courage C60/Peugeot Race Car
2004 Pescarolo PlayStation C60/Judd Race Car
1999 Toyota GT-One Race Car (TS020)


Tune your car to the MAX! Whatever the heck you want goes on your car. All that is required is that you use at best Racing Softs - no Racing Super Softs.

There is still a water shortage in Las Vegas so they can't handle the massive influx of people for our competitions. So, the run will be ran on the 0-1000 again. No 1/4 mile times will be judged; although please include it with your car and final time.

No cheating. Verification is done by posting your full setup when the competition closes. Please don't forget to write it down. Saving your replay is encouraged, also. This competition will run from now to midnight on August 13th.

Interesting.... The special black cars won't exactly be the best bet this week. ;)
 
Well this should be fun.... well. Good thing I have/can easily get all those cars. Off to test
 
I only have one of these cars and I'm too busy (and broke) doing my road test series to go get more, so I'll stick with the '98 R390 GT1.

Fully tuned and I'm running 14.280 - traction is a 🤬
 
Yeah these certainly are expensive cars to buy, but I figure by now most of you have one or two or more - and you can always do the DTM championship a few times.
 
I'm using the BMW V12. All 1004 HP has gotten me a 14.367. Ran 14.4s with the car in automatic, so I might just switch to AT just to see how well it'd do this week :lol:

I always use AT. I change gears often enough in my own car that I don't want to do it when playing GT4.

Glad to see I'm not the only one. And with all the wheel spin in Drag Racing, I think it's even harder to judge when to shift than it is on a road course. Not only that, I've got enough to pay attention to with Accelerating/Brakeing/Turning/Accelerating again to keep me busy! I'd prolly use manual if I could feel it's affect on the car ya know?

Lemme finish off WRS this week (I'm *really* focusing hard with that RX7) and I'll pick a car and get a time posted for WDS this week - I think I've got all the cars listed, but I'll most likely start with one of the black monsters (I've got all 4) just, well, cause that's why we buy them! But I'm also a *HUGE* Audi fan...too bad I can't get me an R8 in all black, I might start with that one instead.

Hmm. Didn't know you all used auto. I've actually started using manual on races because I don't feel like changing back to auto.
 
I prefer manual, just 'cause I believe I can extract more from the car... Plus it's just so cool to use a manny tranny. :D
 
Just rememebr the only black car accepted will be the GT-ONE people.
 
I think it's even more pertinent to use manual for drag racing... you only have a few seconds, the margin of victory is so small you need to shift at the perfect time.

I don't have ANY of those cars yet.... And I gave up on GT4 for today after a horrifying run at Nurburgring in the BMW Z4. Okay, so it wasn't the run itself but the fact that I was racing a 160+ Aspec race and getting whupped.

Perhaps later today after I can find my qualifying time (hope it's not too late kenny!), I'll go do the DTM with my Audi TT-R.

There are currently 6 spots open, and one of them will be you....so once people sign up for those it will start right away.

I just did a 14.280 in the Toyota GT One...gonna try out some other cars.

I currently now have a 13.910 in the Audi R8.

GAH! BLASTED TUNING!!! I keep confusing myself on tuning these things. I believe the fastest car can be the BMW V12 but the tranny is giving me trouble. Anyone willing to offer some tips?

IMO the V12 can be the fastest since, even though it pumps a measly 1004 HP compared to the other cars, it has the fastest stock settings(oil change and stage 4 turbo equipped and I didn't touch anything on the other cars). It ran 15.5s compared to other cars low 16s to mid 17s.

I've tested every car without touching the tranny or suspension and the pescarolos ran a 15.960(Judd) and 16.491(Peugot). All my cars were tested in automatic so manual would be faster

Fastest cars and their times:
BMW V12 LMR - 15.724
Audi R8 Race Car - 15.835
Toyota GT-ONE - 15.958
Judd Race Car - 15.960
Bentley Speed 8 - 15.963
Nissan R390 GT1 Race Car - 16.343
Peugot Race Car - 16.491
Panoz Esperante GTR-1 - 17.223

I guess it figures the only FR car is also the slowest.

EDIT: New time - 14.253 using the BMW V12 LMR
 
I'm just getting started doing this weeks stuff and I've got the R8 down to 14.636 - nothing compared to Kenny's 13.9 though - gotta figure out where I'm going wrong with the tuning...

Weeeeell - after further tuning I could still only get the Audi down to 14.5 and the Bently down to 14.6 - and I've been fiddling with everything (of course) - I must be missing something obvious...

Hmm. Maybe I just won't do as well my first offical time out...

It's alright man - I didn't know very much or do great my first time out either. What's your exact time? 14.5 is still pretty good :)

Apparently there is one person way ahead of me, too...
