Weekly Drag Series Week 7 + Results

Hi guys and any girls that happen to venture in here.

This week we will be running any street-legal Mustang or Camaro in a classic American showdown. By street-legal I mean it must be a road car.

Las Vegas has solved it's water problem by importing some Pure Mexican Natural Spring Water™ from down south, so we will be back in Vegas again.

Do anything you want to the cars, but you must use sports tires.

This competition will end Saturday August 20th at 12PM CST.

Verification is done by the winner posting their ful setup at the conclusion of the week. Failure to do so may result in a revocation of your win. It is encouraged to save your replays and/or write down your settings right after you do your best run!

did some stock testing, and no one can ever say that the Chevy muscle cars are heavy cars, especially considering the '69 SS weighs 59kg less than the '00.

Quick question, can we use the Shelby GT 350 this week?
 
After laying plenty of rubber down the strip I've so far managed to get...

Timing when to hit the NOS was hard at first but I think I can get down to low 11s passes with some more practise, maybe even crack a 10s with some more tranny changes.

yeh its a street legal mustang.

My time so far is 11.100
 
Current time -11.058.

I can't decide on the Camaro SS '69 or the '00 SS. Both are about equal despite the '00s full 100+ more HP. Of course the '00 still weighs more. I refuse to run a mustang however since I can't win the Shelby due to a lack of money/time and I hate the SVT Cobras and the GTs *shudders* retro...

Looks like the Camaros and Mustangs are pretty close :)
 
10.878 - still in the Camaro SS '69. I think this will be my final time - I've tuned it as well as I can and, for the first time ever in GT4, I've even changed to MT to get under 11s.

:yuck: Mustangs. Granted, I'm not a camaro fanboy either. I think Kenny should let me run my Viper :sly: and just to be fair, I'll only use the standard tranny and lower it to 600 HP(@ 538HP it ran a 10.127 @ 145 MPH).

oh well. Guess I'll just go back and do some actual work on the tranny.

EDIT:

Found the SVT Cobra in the used car lot, took it for a spin. It's lighter than the camaro, and has 3 less HP. Set it up for drag racing and ran a 10.572 without touching the FC tranny. Went back, did some adjusting, and ran a 10.509.

Although it is in a mustang, I'll take that as my best time for now.

🤬 ok I guess I'll share my tranny setup like I said I would. Standard tranny, no close or FC, just the normal stock tranny. Blast you jetboys! Now I have to actually tune!! I'm crying on the inside. Nice time though...

Edit:

OK, I've been doing comparisons between the SVT Cobra and the '00 SS. The Cobra has 1HP more than the SS, it weighs 57kg more, and the SS produces 8.82 more torque, and the SS is more aerodynamic, if that even has an effect in this game... So how is it that the SS is not beating the crap out of the SVT?! Is the SVT Tranny really that much more efficient? :crazy: I feel that this series could become pages and pages of car write ups.

I got a 10.486 with the Camaro SS '00. Still trying to figure out why it's slow.
 
I haven't even started this weeks yet and just caught up in the forum and watching those times plummet, s'gonna take some 'doin to catch ya'll...

BTW Kenny, wouldn't mind seeing another week without TCS and bringing things back under the true throttle control umbrella ;) - You should start a WDS Suggestion Box thread (or did I miss seeing it?)

I have run 3 more .351's, a .353, but nothing lower. I belive I have hit a wall... :banghead:
