After a nice big competitive week 2 at Monaco, here we are at Week 3 - Seattle!

Seattle is one of the toughest tracks in the GT "Circuit", so hopefully we'll see some highly competitive, extremely close times! :)

I've removed the "hitting the wall" rule, because that seemed to contradict the "no wallriding" rule.

THE RACE: Seattle - the track where corners seem to jump out in front of you, and rumble strips send you into the wall

THE RULES:

1. No hybrids
2. No wall riding
3. No shortcuts
4. No cheating
5. Save your replay
6. If possible, upload your replay onto the forums
7. A photo of your time is not required, but can be added if you like.
8. Please, NTCSers, don't use any of the 900hp + monsters
9. Running wide is allowed, but obviously it will slow your time.
10. The rumble strip is considered part of the track.
11. Have fun.
(If you think any more rules should be added here, PM me.)

THE DEADLINE: The dealine for your time to be in is Sunday, midnight, your time (meaning that you can race til 11:59 your local time then give me your time).

Testing will be held on the Free Run version of the course, with the actual race being held in the Hard Single Race mode. You can run the race as many times as you like to get the best time possible.

Testing officially starts now, and will finish on Friday, with racing time being all weekend.

You can discuss all of your intermediate times, but not you're whole lap. You can give generalisations, ie "I got down below 1'20", but not specific lap times.

Go have some good fun! :D

I beileve we (well, minus my lazy arse) already ran at Monaco, we're now at Seattle.

Read after copy and pasting Jon!

i think most people knew what you meant the first time...wall riding is one thing and hitting the wall by not bothering to slow down for a corner is different.....

i dont really think its a big problem...if people hit walls or go wall riding, they aint gonna win the race...the fastest way round most corners is by slowing down, taking the correct line and accellerating out as fast as you can without losing it...(although some corners do benefit from flying in at top speed)..

this is one track i have been looking forward to...i spent loads of time try to perfect the chicane at at the tram lines a few months back...

I had a quick blast last nite and managed low 22's for T1

This is a fair bit trickier than trial mount !! you try run over the rumblers and get thrown everywhere - seems to be a different direction every time !! This is gonna be hard !

Nah James that mountain was a real *****, if you can start to pick up on the rhythem of seattle is isn't too tough. It can be very tricky in some parts but if you hit it right it feels oh so smooth.

in the race we had there last week in the other comp im in (FGP at the GTF) the fastest Qual. lap was set by IForceV8 with a sub 1:03

makes ya feel kinda slow now dont it?

are you sure it was sub 1:03, the time he has in the database is 1:03.6xx, but regardless that is just plain FLYING. Just goes to show there always someone better. btw how did you do in that race bollocks?

dont know have yet to have a look, tell a lie it may have been a 1:03.6** but he did mention a 1:02 but with a brief touch on the wall, so he threw it out

finished 6th/10 makes it hard as we only get the one shot at the race, and if you screw it up then TS

I know what u mean now sough - I ran 40 laps or so last nite - I was consistently in the 1.10's but then started to take risks, closing in on the armco barriers and keeping it in gear where I usually would change down and I was flyin !!! Not as fast as 1.03 but a lot faster than 1.10 !!

1.10  I think I left it in first gear by mistake !!!

But after my efforts I felt like I was kickin ass !! I managed first split of 21.7 !!!

Mine is just after the first split - you go straight on then make a right.
The next few corners do it for me jus b4 the left hairpin - gotta get soo close to the barriers I was jumpin out the way wen I was playin !!!!

Bollocks, it appears that we are somewhat a cut above the rest.(no offense everyone I could be wrong) To make things interesting this week, would you like to put a limit on the amount of times we can do the race? Maybe 5, or one on saturday one on sunday, or maybe just a one shot thing. Thought it could spice things up a bit and give a chance for the others when we wipe out on the railroads!

I hope to win every week but just know its not possible - I put all my effort in and get me ass Kicked !!!
Dont mind though cos I enjoy it but I know what u mean Sough
its all about tryin to go faster and whilst I can always try to beat those above me - Bollocks and yrself always win !
Dunno wot storm thinks bout this ?
Im quite happy the way things are but I spose those who are right at the top will never get any better cos they arent being challenged
a tricky situation hmmmm ??
I spose thats why Boom has diff leagues - pro amateur and beginner - just a thought ?
:banghead: !!!
But I think im doin quite well this week though !!

Does ne1 have a hint about any settings for this course ??
I got my best times from
springs 10/10
ride 45/45
dampers 10/10 (bound n rebound)
max df
and TCS 2
I know these prob arent right for this track and might have some of you sighing !!! but I got my best time from these setts ??
Any tips ??
thanks
bigj

I was thinking just Bollocks and I race limited this week, not everyone else because that kind of overhauls the rules that sandstorm implemented.

As for drivers classes, I think we have too few competitors to really split it up.

and on your settings james, I would raise the springs some. especially in the rear.

 U 2 shud be limited !!! I f I was limited Id start to go backwards !!!
I'll give the springs suggestion a go but not for an hour or so - I just tried to run a few more laps and smashed into just every wall going !!! I'll leave it for an hour or so !!!
thanks though !

sounds good to me, I'm gonna be on edge going into the final turn every time, smash the wall and its over, brake over and over and lose precious time. Not too mention passing the AI, railroads etc. Fun stuff.

How many times shall we run this then, just once?

What, I don't qualify as fast enough to be limited? I was on the podium both weeks, you know. :grumpy:

I'm game to be part of this - I like to think I can go pretty fast... :trouble:

Ive got a best T2 of around 51 or 52 I think - I didn't look at the replay. What sort of T2s are we all running?

Looks like James and Storm are coming along quite nicely at seattle. You can surely join us if you like storm. I was just thinking it would be fun to have a unique 2 person battle w/ bollocks here, but like I said I don't care if more join, I just don't want to undermine the format of the series.

I have to say that I am a bit weary of having everyone do one shot racing though, as we don't really know everyone here well and it can be very tempting to race more than once and there is no way of proving it.

But if we go this route, I would like strongly stress ranking by total time. It totally defeats the purpose of a race if we wipe out twice, run a flying 4th lap, crash into the AI, and win the race. With unlimited races, I still like total time, but at least you can be more aggressive and fast laps come easier.

I think Im doin ok but am happy to carry on as I am for now - dont think I'll b on the podium just yet !

Jus had a big run managed a 21.4   dont think I'll get that again - and I am about 50 - 51 for the last T
Hopefully I'll b a bit nearer this week ! ?

Maybe us three should run this seperate from the challenge and submit a regular time as well.
