Weekly Race Week 4: Midfield Raceway.

Being in the 50's is pretty damn fast. Unfortunately, I have regressed in my quest of finding better settings as I cant even match my pace from tuesday :banghead:
 
Am I supposed to be happy that I posted 50 times and that I am now a "junior member"? I find now that "new member" sounds better. :( We'll, I'll just keep posting!

BTW, how's everyone's confidence for this weekend?
 
Shimmed 3 tenths off by best time, still nothing spectacular. I'm starting to wonder if my racing line might not be that good afterall. Midfield is starting to frustrate me way more than Seattle. And finding good settings is so damn hard. People post settings and they can only manage like 54's. I wonder why they post settings when they are about 5 seconds slower compared to the 49.0 ...

Do a double click on the roller thingy and it shud scroll then !
 
double click dont work...oh well makes for a handy paper weight...or a missile ;)

I'd like to say ive gone sub 50, Id like to, but no not yet gonna go back and do some more tonight b4 bed time

I went to the GTVault website to look for some settings (I know I said it felt like cheatin last time but I was intrigued) and I found some setts there but the lap times werent all that crackin - There was a high 50 but Ive beaten that already so I guess my setss must be quite good ?

Yea I been there also cuz I thought my settings were crap.. But I'm faster than any lap time posted there. I still think my settings suck tho. Seems like the car would want to go faster but it doesnt...
 
Im gonna do the race tonight, and get this awful track ( for me anyways ) over with. Good Luck to all.. I know I'll need tons of it hehe.

I think that this will be a close race on a not so technical track, cant wait for R5 wet, all my other racing will be out of the way then

Actually I'm not... didnt notice there was second page of settings. DOH! :irked: One had 50.0, and other 50.3

Is it considered cheating to try out settings that are not ours?? The only reason I did "good" in Seattle is cuz I had the time to try out IForceV8's settings.
 
Well I tried forces setts for seattle but didnt have enuff time to get used to em
then bollocks said its like takin all the fun out of it for youself ansd hes right 👍 - I have messed about with the setts this week, more than I have done in previous weeks and its good when you change stuff for yourself then get quicker times

But no I dont believe its cheatin as per the rules go but is it cheatin yourself out of doing it ???

I think I was a bit like u b4 but I spent loads of time reading the setts guide on here and I think I sorted the setts out for myself

Lots more rewardin if you do it on you own :D

OK its the special licence number 7 (8??) on special stage with the TVR griffith, just get your quickest time then PM to Sandstorm who'll include you in the list of racers.

Then its on - were at midfield this week altho it might be a little l8 for this race

The licence doesnt really mean anything. We arent in different classes or anythin - just means you have registered

I dont think I managed the gold ? I cant remember now

Anyway good luck Chop - Im off to sleep now it like half 2 am for me !! and I need an awake head for tomorrows race !!!

:odd: I can't find Midfield Settings anywhere but hey who cares I guess I am going to have to do this the old hard way. Everyone using the F94/s I take it? Personally I am going to use the 686/m just because I like it better. I have a good tranny set-up if anyone wants it and as for other settings I don't know what does what lol. No one has ever taken the time to explain what the different settings do to me. :lol:
 
Its true that doing your own settings and getting fast times feels more rewarding.. In my case, my setup ended up being quite similar to the one I found on gtvault.com , but i ended up modifying it some more cuz i thought it could be faster. Turns out I was right :) I'm now well in the 50's and hunting down a 49? Who knows..

So yeah, I'm guessing its gonna be whoever is more constant as everyone seems to be fast. Good Luck once again.

Hey James, is that your GTI?? We have a normal Golf 95.. not a quick car, but we completely changed the suspension and now its a heck of a good handling car, its pretty nice also. I'll make it my avatar when they let me... GTI's are sweet, specially the older models like your avatar :)

Its not mine cos I aint got any pics of mine yet (funny that seen as tho Ive had it since last august!!!) but basically the same ie. white !!!

hehe !! I had a little race with these two birds in a xsara vtr last nite - I hate doing that sort of stuff but it was real late and she went past me slow then puprosefully shifted down and booted it !!!! It was well funny cos people look at my car and think shed but it'll kick the ass of most the cars out there !!

You can have your golf in your avatar now ya know - I dont think you've gotta get to any amount of posts b4 u can change it

Not allowed to use any of the 900+Hp cars, personally using the poly 001, its NTSC equivilent ois the F094/s

I don't see what the fuss is about with the 900 hp cars. Even with speed oriented tracks like midfield and tokyo, the 94/s is faster than the M. Unless the race is at the test track or super speedway then its a different story.
 
Yep I agree with Sough. If you look at the best times for all the tracks, except of course the 'test course' and 'speedway', then the F094/S or Poly 001 is always fastest.

Hey James, I have to do 100 posts before I can put my custom avatar. That should be soon tho.

Gonna squeeze in 4 or 5 races tonight. Gonna submit quickest and that will be that. I have to get on with studying, and I'm starting to get a headache :banghead:

Anyway Im done with midfield - One Ive enjoyed the most actually but times submitted - failed to crack the 50 sec on race day - boo :(
