Although I am at the wheel in that picture, it isnt mine. Its my older brother's. But we have been tuning it together since he got it back in 95. If you look under the hood however, dont expect to find a VR6....:( There is a tiny little 1.8 liter 8 valve pushing out 90 hp!!! Well it could be a bit more now because of the modified air intake, Remus exhaust and Neuspeed cam. But I figure nothing more than 100 hp.. atleast it might be in the 3 digits :) I really hope to do an engine swap soon. Been thinking about it last year with bros, and we are probably going to prepare to do it next summer. Til then... 0-100 in 12.5 seconds ( or 0-60 mph in 12 seconds ) YAY!

my mates is a VR6 monster and its sooo quick - but a bit slow off the start and thats where my little 205 just gets out infront and can stay there which Im surprise about !!

No results for the "hill" yet - I hope storm hasnt given up cos of poor attendance !! Hope everything is OK storm

Ive started week 10 already and am struggling with my gears. I cant seem to find the right balance between the straights and the corners and seem to take corners in a different gear each time !!!! shud be able to sort it tho !

I figure Ill use the same settings as SSR5 Wet to start off. The gears shouldnt need to be changed.

Wut year/type is your 205? is it a GTi? Cuz ive been looking at some specs, and the 0-100 of a 1.9l 205 GTi is of about 7.8 to 8.5 seconds, and its somewhat similar to the VR6. I think your friend might not launch the car as good as you do, because he should be able to pick up pace much quicker once he gets to third gear. Anyhow I think there might also be a substantial weight difference. Something like your car weighing about 200-250 Kg less than the VR6 Golf. So basically the reason why you can keep up is because of the weight advantage, but when your friend starts to reach the higher gears, it shouldnt be possible for you to keep up anymore. Your ride is pretty fast tho to be able to do what it does.

Our Golf is at about 1050 Kg with ~100 hp :( The weight might even be more because of the added Audio System, bigger mags and tires, tie-bars and bigger anti-sway bars. :( :(

I need a 2.0L with Turbo => 196+ hp at the wheels :trouble:
I'll settle for 2.0L Supercharged tho.. ~180 hp at the crank. Thats double that of the stock 1.8L 8 valve! ;)

Its now wednesday here, so the resuts are where?

Of to R5 it is then, see ya there fellas

Question is... where is SS?? He is in Australia like you Bollocks, right?

well his is 0-60 7.1 and mine is 7.8 BUT ! I have a superchip on mine and a magnex stainless steel manifold and system so I reckon Ive got about 150 compared to his 174 and you are right about the weight and the higher gears - If we go from start I can pretty much keep infron of him until third like you say then he gets his momentum then wastes me !! But mine is an old thing 1989 with 113k on the clock. Its a 1.9 8v with 130 hp standard and about 150 with the mods Ive done (I reckon ?) but it is very funny when we are out together cos our cars pretty much beat all the other stuff out there on the roads (vectras mondeos etc etc..)

Thats fun stuff, I can compete with alot of higher power cars... but only in the curves. Straight line speed is ridiculous. You must have a pretty nice ride anyhow. Chip and Headers should get you to 150 like you say or even more. Sport headers give a big gain, and the chip should be 7-8 hp to itself. Drop in a K&N filter to let it breathe more :)

Yep, just over the other side of the country, I'm in Southern Victoria and 'Storm is in North Western Aus (shark bay), so its not like we are around the corner from each other:lol: 2 hour time difference as well

Hehehe, yea I should of thought of that also. Australia is a pretty big country after all. My bad. We have like 6 and a half different time zones here.:)
