Weekly Race Week8: Grand Valley.

Found where we're supposed to be going this week... :p

THE RACE: Grand Valley. Possibly the finest track on the GTP circuit.

THE RULES:

1. No hybrids
2. No wall riding
3. No shortcuts
4. No cheating
5. Save your replay
6. If possible, upload your replay onto the forums
7. A photo of your time is not required, but can be added if you like.
8. Please, NTCSers, don't use any of the 900hp + monsters
9. Running wide is allowed, but obviously it will slow your time.
10. The rumble strip is considered part of the track.
11. Have fun.

THE DEADLINE: The dealine for your time to be in is Sunday, midnight, your time (meaning that you can race til 11:59 your local time then give me your time).

Testing will be held on the Free Run version of the course, with the actual race being held in the Hard Single Race mode. You can run the race as many times as you like to get the best time possible.

Testing officially starts now, and will finish on Friday, with racing time being all weekend.

You can discuss all of your intermediate times, but not you're whole lap. You can give generalisations, ie "I got down below 1'20", but not specific lap times.

Holy crap Bollocks, I'm guessin you really want to beat Sough this week ;) Well it is true that you ppl in England are 6 hours ahead anyhow. I figure I'll get started on tuesday night or wednesday.

Ok here goes:

I'll never reach 1'16, but perhaps a 1'17 is on the cards...

I never ran the Poly001/F094s on this track so I have no clue how it will go. Fastest I have ever been on this track is like 1'25 or 1'26 with a F090s with standard settings.

the 94 will be a lot faster than that 👍
 
I wish we could slap on a turbo on the 94's... but not on Sough's 94 hehe
 
I dont think he needs one with the blistering pace he can run, hats off to ya Sough 👍

Hmmm, yes... And some superglue and syicky tape where the tailshaft meets the diff. :p

Keep in mind that was a hotlap where I hit the rumbles and with no AI. I have different lines for races that allow me to go about 1:19 flat. Of course this race has no tire wear so I'm not sure what lines to take yet.
 
just take the fastest line :) Except if you have to avoid the AI. Thats what I do :)
 
We have already achieved half the replies from last weeks thread. At least thats a good sign. Seems like the involvement during the week has diminished. I just hope more racers submit their times in this week.
 
Im here this week - I had BIG r/l problems last week that sort of came to a head on sunday so my mind wasnt really on GT3 at all.

But glad to say its sorted now and bring GV on !!!
 
sub 19 (once) now being consistant, thats the tricky bit ;)

got a decent setup but still gonna try to improve it, still some time to come off yet

Now in the high 19's. But Im wondering what I have to do to go faster... Is it my setup or racing line...
 
more setup i'd probly think getting a good one is hard to do
 
how are everyone's T's looking? A typical 1:17 might look like
14.0xx 38.8xx 51.8xx
 
just had an hour or so and managed high 20 - T1 about 14 and a half
I havent played for most of last week and after only an hour my hand is starting to twitch and seize up !!! I think I can go quicker though - spend a bit more time tonight.
 
I am so frustrated!!

I know - repeat, that's KNOW - that I should be running at least mid - to - low 18's, if not a 17 once and again, but I can't put a good lap together! The least I've managed is a high 18 (once) which I am NOT happy with.

I'll be going south for the weekend, so I'll have to get me **** together and put up a good time either tomorrow or late Sunday.

Again, I want consistent 18s. So far, in the 4 hours to 4PM today, I have:
  • Gotten pissed at GT3;
  • Gotten pissed at Grand Valley;
  • Gotten pissed at my girlfriend (and been humbled);
  • Gotten pissed at myself (and won the argument);
  • Shouted vehemently about 213 different swears in about 371 different languages;
  • broken my first controller (hey, gotta start somewhere);
  • Fried a few of them good ol' Brain Chips;
  • Broken about 5 doors; and,
  • Broken all my fingers and toes in about 5 different places, each.

And that's just the start. :mad:
