The intent of the WSSRL is to enjoy the "lighter" side of GT5. Did you know the Tesla Roadster can do 104mph right out of the arcade lot? Oh yeah, that's 104mph in reverse. This racing league will seek to exploit some of the more silly potential from the game. Sample race ideas include:

- Tesla Showdown: You have to drive the whole thing in reverse, track TBD
- Search and Destroy: Top Gear Test Track, PDI Karts vs. 2 Destroyers driving any rally car of their choice. Karts try to win, destroyers try to, well, destroy. Damage: Heavy!
- Tank Car Snow Master: Jay Leno Tank Car + fully tuned + Chamonix Main/changing weather
- Midget Kart Shootout, Autumn Ring: you get not one, but TWO Daihatsu Midget II's during the course of GT Life. What the hell for? So you can fully tune one of them and race it against PDI Karts on Autumn Ring! You'll be surprised at how closely matched the cars are
- Cops and Robbers (idea from another post
- (fill in the blank. the more ridiculous, the better.)

This race series will probably not have a leader board, and if it does, it'll probably be half-assed and always out of date. There might be prizes. I'll send the winner a flywheel or something. Also, the weekly "winner" (yes those are downplay quotes) will get to set the stipulations for the next week's challenge(s). It's time to revel in the absurd! My proposed time is Wednesdays at 10pm, EST

No because if you try and race a kart it will say that you can only race it if "Karts Only" is selected.

damn. I must be thinking of when we did it on a split screen. Well, there's plenty of other mayhem to be had, we'll think of somethin else
 
haha, this sounds fun. I will admit, I have been pondering destruction derbies. I wonder what it would be like at TGTT, trying to take out others but stay alive yourself...
 
I think we have enough interest to get rolling (count me in for an additional friend that isn't on GTP but will be in for mayhem). People will jump on the bandwagon once they figure out how awesome we are.

What days/times are good for people? I'm generally good on weeknights and weekends, but will be out of town this coming weekend (Jan 14th/15th/16th)

What should we do for our first event? I'm thinking Tesla Reverse, since it's avail in the arcade lot so people don't have to buy it if they don't want to
 
Also it appears that the WSSRL needs to be revised to W(uwfatt)SRL. I guess the asterisk didn't cut it. Sorry admins!:scared:

on a funny related note, GT5 will censor an entire sentence in an online race chat if the word "engine" is in it.
 
If you make this on Tuesday nights I'm sure me and my friends would be interested. This is our weekly drink beer and play GT night, so it's obviously not a serious race night :lol:

I am usually good for Tuesdays even though I can't tonight cause it looks like I'm going to be stuck at work way late. How is everyone for TUESDAYS 10PM EST?
 
Tuesdays are not always best for me, but i'm sure i can make it work from time to time. Once this gets going, i'm certain we can have events other days as well.

That is selfishly perfect for me 👍 we usually start around 7:00PM PST. Tonight was quiet due to a bit of unusual snow here, but we're on most Tuesday nights with 2-3 PS3's running online.
 
Hey everyone I'm out o town for weekend but will be back Sunday night. I'll respond and uPdate and post next challenge then when I'm not doing it from an iPod touch fear not!
 
TUESDAY, JAN 18TH S*** SHOW RACE - 10pm EST, lounge will open by 9:30pm

If by some crazy reason you don't have a PDI Kart yet, get one. We're gonna start off with a warm-up by karting in reverse around Autumn Ring Mini-Reverse. Then the MAIN EVENT will be Tesla Roadsters Reverse Challenge on some track that we decide. No need to buy the Tesla, it's in the arcade garage and I'll set the whole one-make restriction thing.

If you are interested in participating but haven't added me yet, add Commie_Phil on PSN. We'll run this deal through a private lounge so that we don't have random people jumping in, and we can have more control. This means that me, or someone else participating, will need to be on your PSN friends list. Looking forward to it!
 
Damn! This thing is actually going to happen and I have to miss the first one :mad:

Going out of town for a few days, so no GT5 for me :(

Hopefully this one works out and will lead to more. I feel kinda bad since I suggested Tuesdays and now I can't make it :rolleyes:
 
Sorry to say, but I won't be able to host this tonight cause I have work to do still. Additionally, the group that I'm racing with on Monday nights starting around 930pm EST. We started off with the intent of practicing for GT Academy, but it turns out we're all stressed out from time trials and people being too serious, so we do a couple laps of "practice" and then switch quickly to absurd races, and I think we should just roll the two groups together.
