So I was tooling around with my lister storm today and realized how really heavy it is. I went to searching for actual specs and found that the actual car...the 99 gt race car is listed in multiple sources as weighing 1100 kilo...and anywhere between 550 and 610 hp...I guess depending on what metric is used...I didn't check.

I have to say that this is somewhat disappointing to me. This is very easy data to gather and I wouldn't be surprised if the same doesn't apply to other cars...(Stealth SLS maybe?)

What do you guys think? Is this something that should be looked and corrected? Data corrections like this are, as far as I am aware, very simple to correct.\

The r8 lms weights 1250 according to sources...it's not 348 kilos off but 50 is still something....

Some of the weights are curb, and some are dry. 50 kg off on the Audi could be all the fluids.

348 kg is quite a bit. Maybe your source was wrong? Maybe the modeled the car in a different trim or something? I'm not familiar with that car at all.
It's also very possible they just screwed that one up.

I crossed referenced it. One source was Lister Cars own website.

Maybe they took the weight from the road car by mistake? I don't have any sources, it's just a thought.

That seems like it would be accurate.

I dunno, as I said, it seems like too large a difference to be fluids. Does the description mention anything? Maybe a rule change forced the car to have more ballast or something and the used that data? Just making up possibilities.

The car in GT3/GT4/GT5 (and sorta GT2 as well) competed directly with the Dodge Viper GTS-Rs fielded by Oreca, so in real life it weighed similar and made similar power to that car (ie. Around 600 horsepower and 1100KG). The specific car in GT3/GT4/GT5 was the one that came in 2nd at the Donnington FIA GT race in 1999, in fact. I have no idea where the number they come up with is from, but it isn't the road car either (the Storm road car was a lot heavier than the car in GT3/GT4/GT5).

Yeah I love the Storm but as soon as I saw it weighed the wrong amount I just said **** it and stopped using it.

if the storm weighed correctly it would have a good chance of beating the dozen or so nissan and NSX race cars in the game. One car consistantly beating the home regions entire fleet wouldnt sit well I am sure.

If one really starts looking hard, many little changes show up to give favor to the "home" team. Not that that's unique to GT, just sayin. For a car enthusiast's game, there is an odd amount of favoritism.

This is also got me wondering if the Cerberus Speed 12's complete inability to turn is not also a data entry error....really getting frustrated with the car in indy

No no, the 1438kg may well be right, but I think the Lister Storm in there is not the GT1/2 class car that participated Le Mans & FIA GT, but wrongly labeled (n coloured maybe?) cuz if you read the description it did say something about 1440Kg and its old-fashioned chassis, and if I'm not wrong in previous GTs it's always been like that hasn't it?

It is the exact car that competed in FIA GT in 1999. And the descriptions aren't anywhere near accurate enough in general to explain discrepancies.

Just take a look at F40's stock weight... I remind that 1150-1180 kg is the real thing.

I've heard mixed things about the weight of the F40, but I believe the weight used in GT5 closer to the curb weight of the American F40, which underwent additional modifications to meet regulations.
