Weird Firefox startpage?

I opened firefox and this is what greeted me...

I have no idea what to make of it? Just a random thought for tonight...

yea I have no idea whats going on. The only thing I can think of is something to do with the Prelude sites that I visit but I dont think that would be a good explaition. Anyone with firefox see this?

Edit: firefox on my PC is fine it just seems to be my laptop

I typed the exact address and got nothing. Scan you computer for adware, spyware, and viruses. I'll check out attrition in the mean time.

What should I use to look for adware and spyware? I have a virus scan that is running now but I dont have an adware or spyware scan.

Something weird is definately going on because I just hit the home button and the picture on the top of the page is now broken.

ad-aware

wow, no viruses yet but there seems to be a heap of spyware. Its at 85% and it found 51 infections

oh and those programs dont check for viruses if you want to check for viruses google avast! antivirus

Boz Mon, on this Laptop when & where did you either;

Download a Firefox exe ?

Obtain a Firefox update ?

a) You could have been phished w/ a non-genuine installation, is a possibility but a small & dreadful one (you have bad friends)

b) You could have been scripted/exploited into changing your homepage & you have resident but undetected spyware (through cookies)

Remove all cookies. If necessary re-install as in purge & fresh install from a googled firefox download/ftp site.

I downloaded firefox from the mozilla homepage. I never changed my homepage so that isnt the problem. But it seems to be better now. I actuall downloaded spyware blaster and spybot search and destroy. I did a clean up thing and everything seems to be working fine. Tomorrow night I'll do a virus scan, spyware scan, clean cookies, disk cleanup, etc just to be sure, but for now I'm going to bed. THanks for the help everyone 👍
