Weird problem with my computer

As you may or may not know i have a garbage windows Millenium. I downloaded a conveter that after some reading i found that i need to rename two files for it to be able to work.

sounds simple right. well i go into my hardrive, go into my windows folder, but my system folder (where these two files would be located) is nowhere to be found :confused:. I searched in all the folders around it and throught my hardrive but i still cant find it. Another problem is that i cant find the other two files either even through the search function

Does anybody know what is going on?
 
Have you tried going to Tools > Folder Options and selecting to show hidden files and folders? (If you have that function in ME)

Thats the first thing i checked. i tried to look for it for a little bit this morning but still cant find it.

Its just weird and its pissing me off because its keeping me from converting my latest video. ( If anyone also has any suggestions for a video converter that will convert to divx that would be awesome too )
