consider yourself corrected *correct*

yes it is indeed a mini van, and there is also a chevy truck in the game as well, or so there have been pictures of it

Someone mentioned the Honda Odyssey. I can recall one of the wildest vans I've ever seen. And that would be the Yokohama Honda Odyssey Sure, the Yokohama Odyssey isn't Renault's Espace F1 of about 10 years ago, but it is an interesting van that's been tuned.

Watching (then TNN, now Spike TV), there was actually a white Chevy Astro tuned to be a horsepower machine, and I'm sure it was a wild custom van (I'm used to saying "tuner," but I don't know if American car fans will agree with calling tuned American cars "tuner cars"). That "refrigerator on wheels" had some good power gains on the dyno. It would be interesting to see more trucks and vans in racing. Since the "Maxima???" topic, keep in mind. Trucks and vans make personal cars as well. So, more variety. More so than ever. I'm not saying I WANT to see them, but it would be interesting if they did.

But if you put in trucks, you'd better bring the Pennzoil Toyota Tacoma Pikes Peak truck. I think it had 100+ more horsepower than the Suzuki Escudo Pikes Peak monster. That truck can challenge the Escudo... with OR without Rod Millen at the controls! You can also add Ivan "Ironman"Stewart's Toyota truck from the arcade classic "Ivan Stewart's Off Road Challenge" (is that the name of the game? I'll check later to make sure I got the right game name.

Grassroots Motorsports did a comparison where they ran their office Odyssey (with a mild tire upgrade) against well-restored Jag XKE and Porsche 356 models in a typical autocross course.

The Odyssey mopped the floor with the Jag, and beat the Porsche by several seconds per run.

By the way, if I can find pictures of the Yokohama Honda Odyssey tuner, I'll be sure to post where you can see it. I think this specific Odyssey has a body kit you can buy, for people who have more guts than brains can enough to mod a van.

Your quite active today Jordan. But yeah that Espace from GT2 was great, I hope that makes it into GT4.

Wasn't it only ever driven once in real life and then storaged!

The Vauxhall Zaphira GSI would probably own the Oddessy though.

Eww, I just made a positive comment on a Vauxhall that has no relation to Lotus. :scared:

Eww, you did, lol. Yeah the Espace was properly driven once, and it was very, very quick. It's currentley stored in a motor museum.

I'm pretty sure the Zapira GSI is a 2.2 or 2.0 turbo. Mind you in the ending of GT4:P i've spotted the rear of what looks to be a *shudders* new *spazms* Vauxhall Vectra.

The Espace F1 was an Awesome car, it was basically the closest thing to an F1 car in GT2, apart from having Espace aerodynamics.

Hey thanx oscarfulz for the info and the truck pic. I think the game will be great with more trucks.Especially if u can use em for rally. but i wonder if there is any tuning restrictions because they r trucks. hey does any one kno if there will be anyother trucks/vans and why the hell did they chose the ODDESY

Make it a Grand Caravan AWD Sport, and you're on...

I don't have the Yokohama Honda Odyssey, and I am well aware of the Espace F1.

If I'm not mistaken, the Dodge Caravan could accelerate from 0 to 60 in 6 seconds, I heard. For a van, that's good, as long as you don't strap an F1 motor to the middle of the van. And if you want to make LM cars out of trucks and vans, how about a (call me crazy, but:) Dodge Caravan GT Car. Or even worse, a Nissan Quest Rally Car.

But we can change all that, right, 359? :)

Anyhow, vans would be too bulky to throw around a course, so whatever it's in, it would have to be in a competitive series.

Even though vans and trucks would be interesting, there are some pros and cons to go with it. For example:

(1) Vans offer a severe amount of distraction in road racing. If you are racing a low car and you are matched up with a tall van, you may be faced with serious loss of visibility. This isn't like when you have a van-looking hatchback (like the Focus).

(2) To make the most of its bulkiness, you can make it almost exclusive for rally racing. Modified vans can have twin engines front and rear to add more ponies. If as a touring car, the machine would offer great power and exceptional power, even if you're not picking up kids from soccer practice or $200 worth of groceries.

IF YOU HAVE A TRUCK:

Trucks have exceptional power, at the expense of heavy weight. Even if you have to carbon fiber your hauler, do that. And just boost the engine power. I guess if you want to balance weight, move the engine to the middle. Then of course add on a special air scoop to feed air to the motor. This way, you have a heavy truck, but better turning ability. Plus, it would be cool to just do such a thing. This idea is based of an HPI R/C Truck, but modified with some creative ideas.

PD would want to think about that for new ideas on LM/Touring/Rally cars. The two best trucks would be: Ford Lightning and Dodge Ram SRT-10 (I keep wanting to say Neon SRT-4, but we're talking trucks and vans here).

No, that is a rally van.

It has the Focus WRC's powerplant and AWD. It even had the seats from Colin Mcrae's Focus. They showed it on Topgear, or Driven, or Pulling power a year or so ago.

Ive seen some wild videos of 80s dodge caravans smoking f bodies at the strip with mild modifications to their 4g63 mitsu turbo engines. I'm gonna try to find some links, cause the look on the defeated drivers' faces is priceless.

It's a real rally van and it is 4wsd, but it doesn't use the Focus WRC engine. I saw it on topgear when Viki and Tiff were in it.
