blowing? Anyway, HD not definitely dying, but I wouldn't be surprised if corrupted data is a result of a failing HD. I'd be ready to replace it. But yeah, I would backup game save data and tyhen completely uninstall then reinstall GT5 to fix it.

There is no spoon

Yes there is...

reminding me of rainbow mountain from mario kart :)

Damn, good old times :)

The SNES was the best console, played the hell out of it with friends, F-Zero, Zelda, SMario, International Superstar Soccer  and the legendary Street Fighter II, Super Street Fighter II, Super Street Fighter II Turbo

The thing that seems the weirdest to me isn't the random coloured pixels but when the track is replaced by a texture of a laptop keyboard at random.

Why the hell is the a photo of a laptop in this game?

EDIT - It seems to be different every time i load the track, now i have black and white stripes with the weird pixels on top of them.

LOL!
I've had this on Metal Gear Online, only on one map.
My PS3 died in less than 2 months.
I think it's dust in your system, dust might have gotten in your GPU or maybe HDD, I don't know but clean your PS3 (take it to the service and get them to clean it for you, it costs about 15$).

Cleaning dust from electronic stuff is difficult. Most "services" would probably just use compressed air, which is next to useless. You'll struggle to get it all off, and you'll probably only wedge much of it deeper - vacuuming is also not a great idea, either, unless you can ensure the hose won't discharge onto the board.
The "best way" to clean the dust off is with soap and water, but there are significant risks with that, too. :scared:
Keeping the area around the PS3 clean should prevent excessive dust ingress in the first place.

I'd suggest simply checking the disk for errors, fixing any and then fixing / re-installing the game data - let's not jump to conclusions about the console's life expectancy just yet.

They're downloading the intersect into your brain! Have you suddenly become a Kung Fu expert? :)

My suggestions are:

1. Back up your save gave onto a USB
2. Back up PS3 onto a USB (In case your PS3 does die)
3. Reinstall GT5 into your PS3

Might fix it. Sure does on my games on my PC.

Man you guys must be smokin some dope ish.

Kureigu is the one.

He will free the premiums from the standards.

I think a trip to the oracle is in order! Enjoy it while you have it.

I played motogp with this same phenomenon when xbox live was being tested and it was fantastic.

It could just be me not knowing where the car is on the track, but does it not look like the shapes are much more blocky and squared-off then they would be otherwise?

If it happens everywhere the GPU is scrambling the textures.

If it's only on this track then either your installed file is corrupt or your disc needs cleaning (if you're running from the disc, that is).
