Video #1 was in a business complex parking area, still illegal, but a little better than a true public road.

Nice driving, big deal that they're on public roads though, they're doing like 40kph.
Tell that to some poor innocent shmuck who happens to come into the roundabout from the other side while these assclowns were practicing their mad tyte dorifto yo.

40 kph + 40 kph = 80 kph into a concrete bridge abutment. Still think it's no big deal? Try it and let us know how it works out for you.

That's quality.

I didn't think it was that much of a problem being that they are both pretty much deserted.

Said innocent should really give way to traffic on the roundabout whether it be sideways or not so wouldn't be that innocent if he pulled out in front of it. True if you are going to breach the limits of your car there is more likelyhood of something unexpected happening but a bit of drifting/oversteer round quiet roundabouts goes on loads over here.

On a public road it is a very stupid thing to do, espcially when you cannot see the whole roundabout from the pull in area.

Of course, I've done this before on a smaller one, where I could see all entry points and those at the entry points could see me. Made sure to have headlights on and it was in a pretty dead business district.

Still not the brightest thing I've done. And considering I did get threatened for reckless because of stunts in a massive empty parking lot. Cops couldn't do much because none actually saw anything, some people had complained about noise. And no, it was not a neighborhood anything, some people camped out in 5th wheelers basically. So I am more than certain this would be a bit worse considering this areas are during the day and where traffic might actually be going.

Nice??!!! It started out looking like a police chase on T.V.!

As for the speed issue: If a cop would pull you over for reckless driving, It's stupid. I don't know any good, true-hearted police officer who wouldn't turn their lights on for the shenanigans being pulled in these videos.

Yes we all know its wrong, but that doesnt take anything away from those lovely lines and great skill.

Id much rather having someone of his quality sliding his car around me than your stupid soccer mum in her SUV that doesnt use blinkers, knows squat about give way rules and road rules in general and has bad tyres and thinks she's king of the road because shes in a big SUV. Sadly the policeman hardly cares about good ole soccer mum.

But we have racetracks. I don't think it's very smart to drift in an area that is a largely uncontrolled situation. Racetracks have drift practice days, and there's no excuse to risk your life drifting on the freeway, rather than fifty bucks drifting on the Carousel turn at your favorite racetrack.

Yes, these drivers have skill. but are they particularly smart? What if "soccer mum" gets spooked by h1pEr dR1ftOR and causes an accident? What if he screws up right in front of an eighteen-wheeler? Or "Soccer Mum?"

Get the picture?

Soccer mum wont be worried about hiper drifter because her car is bigger :).

Plus with the vid i posted he probably has the same chance to hit someone as he would if was driving normally on a wet desserted round a bout.

No, not really.

First off, yours was a wet exit ramp, not roundabout. SECONDLY, If something happens in front of you when you're driving wihtin your traction limits, you can do something about it. You can't do as much when you have exceeded your traction limits. granted, a skilled drifter has some control over his line through the corner...but not nearly as much as he would driving at a normal pace on a normal road.

People stop short for seemingly no reason, It's happened to me. Lane changes without turn signals (or even checking the mirrors) happen. The people who DON'T know how to handle high speed situations are the very reason why Drifting, Racing, and other activities should not be conducted on public roads.

And, in addendum, a bigger car is not necessarily safer. Ask the woman who rolled her SUV seven times when someone merged into her lane.

On the slip road video the road infront was quite clear. Although the stopping if something occurs thing is a point if the road is clear then that really isn't an issue. The Video Small Fryz posted is at reasonably low speed shown by the fact the chase car isnt going that quickly. I also agree about the inept driver is far more dangerous argument. At least if a "situation" does occur in normal driving the guy who knows how his car handles in extremes will be more prepared to deal with it.

50 Dollars? I wish track days were that cheap in the UK.

He shouldnt have done what he did, but at the same time he is not doing this in down town L.A in rush hour. That exit ramp if he spun he would of ended up in the grass, far away from any potentail cars.
