What are your personal plans regarding GT7?

What is your current course of action regarding your copy of GT7?

So, this may seem like another whining thread but I was curious. I wanted to get a metric on what other players' courses of action were with their individual copies of GT7 following the update that kinda pissed in our lunch.

We all know GT7 is a pretty massive game that takes up a large amount of the base PS5's hard drive. It's not really something you're going to want kept installed if your not playing it, considering its 100+ GB size.

Me personally, I'm going to keep the game installed for a few months and see what happens regarding the state of the game, but once I get into Elden Ring and such in a bit, if things haven't been taken care of I'll most likely be deleting GT7. The game is starting to get boring for me, doubly so with the grinding issues.

So, since GT7 is already on death's door and it's not even a month after it came out, how are you handling your copy of GT7?

I’m just going to wait it out I guess, it’s probably going to take awhile. Hurray for cross gen games, hope those ps4 sales were worth releasing an unfinished game.

It's the only game I have on a console, and I have a small handful of friends that play it, so I won't be deleting it, selling it, or uninstalling it any time soon...

I don't have any desire to get every car (a lot of them I don't like anyway), I just need a nice personal collection, something I can enjoy online and in upcoming updates.

Basically, I'm going down with the ship. (Hopefully it doesn't sink)

I don't know. Wait and see as well I guess. I can't beleive the next update won't start to make amends or at least that's what I hope.

First week I drove thousands of miles , this week less than 50.. At the moment I'm just not that motivated to play it.

I am still going to play it. I haven’t touch it in over a week before the controversies started because I have been busy with college assignments. I’m still at menu book number 10. Hopefully my progress through the cafe menu isn’t ruined like I read on here.

I only bother doing the daily mileage right now (even before update 1.07), and I'll do a Sport mode race once in a while. But I'll only take the game seriously when some major revisions come to the game.

Only because I wasn't able to return my physical copy.

I'm going to keep doing the daily marathon at least in hopes of getting a R26B engine. Hoping and waiting for a patch that will restore the functionality of lobbies in Sport, and possibly a fix to the horrible tyre physics and nonexistent FFB.

I mean, I did buy a PS5 at inflated prices just for this game. Severely regretting it, but this is a new low for PD and the series.

I'll keep chipping away as the days go. I've done like 2 missions and I still have IA 7-10 and S 1-10 to Gold. Still have a couple more menus in the Cafe.

Really wish Sport mode cashed out, I'd spend all day there instead.

I’m like you. Gonna give it a few months (weeks?) and see if they update it with anything significant. Too late for a refund anyhow.

The driving’s good, the weather, even the AI (if, like me, you don’t tune anything beyond changing tyres the racing is quite hard).

But. So many buts...

Galling that we’re no longer in control of our garages. And no trad ‘rags to riches’ narrative. Ruins the game from the off. Not a normal GT. The cafe, like music rally, is infantile. Even my kids (twins, 12) think it’s cringeworthy.

Weird that there’s no new Super GT cars (or much else for that matter). They’re what always made GT special for me.

And that’s even before the always-online/shonked update/mtx/economy stuff.

It could have been so special, a 25 anniversary ‘Greatest Hits’ or ‘Best of..’ GT. The best of the races and championships from all the other games with the new physics and weather, all the series’ iconic cars (where’s the Escudo, the Calsonic Skyline, the Minolta Toyota, and on and on and on).

It’s so sad really, they had an open goal and they booted the ball into the car park next door. Promised so much, delivered so little. Gives me the same feeling I get watching England play footy every four years.

But I’ll do the daily miles for a while and pray they can rescue it. Really not optimistic tho...

Edit: so glad I couldn’t find a PS5 to buy. Tried hard a few weeks ago. Bullet dodged.

I’m still playing despite what has happened. But after the Cafe, none of the single player stuff is worth doing for me. Before the payout cuts, I was grinding for credits to complete the events I haven’t done yet with tuned cars. But now I don’t want to spend any credits because of how hard it is to get money now. So yeah, thanks Kaz and PD for ruining my fun.

Until Kaz decides to follow up on what he said (don’t have much faith in that) by adding more events with high payouts, all I do now is Sport mode and some custom races here and there with the cars I already own.

Buried deep underneath the boat-load of issues and despite having plenty of grievances with regards to this, I can't put the game down. I love the visuals, the car customization is great, livery editor and photo modes are impeccable, and in general, when the game works, like in the multiplayer, the game REALLY becomes special. I truly am hoping for the GT7 redemption arc, hopefully it happens sooner rather than later.

I second this, as someone who's been here since the very beginning I can't believe they dropped the ball this hard. It breaks my heart more than it makes me angry because apart of me will always have a love for GT.

I only play online and when it works there’s nothing close to it on a console. I’m going nowhere. Doesn’t negate my massive objections to the predatory MTX game mechanics and it would be nice if they could get stable servers going 🙄

I'm jumping between GT7 FH5 and Final Fantasy 14 a lot these last few weeks, so I'm not even done with the Cafe Campaign yet. I'll keep playing when I can as I do still enjoy the game.

Essentially an absolutely amazing game gameplay wise that's currently being ripped apart from the inside out by greed. Heartbreaking.

gold everything and collect every car, found an afk money farming script i'm using until payouts get buffed so yeah, have everything gold except for a few races and couple circuit experiences i haven't tried yet

I feel terrible for you. I bought a PS4 Pro exclusively for GT Sport but atleast that experience was definitely worth it. I have the utmost hope that they will make the game good again for the principle and to justify such a big purchase for you!!

Finish the online stuff I still have to do (currently the S licence, last three mission blocks, 40 World Circuit events, most of the Circuit Experiences) then play Sport Mode and do the Championship Races at the same rate I did in GT Sport.

I've tried several racing games over the years, but I always come back to Gran Turismo. There has always been something about Gran Turismo games that keep me entertained and engaged. There is so much about GT7 that is utterly awesome, but this is the first Gran Turismo game that I find seriously frustrating. So much so, that I've there have been several occasions when I've given up to go and do something else completely. I don't remember that happening very often in GT4/5/6/S!

Having said that, I do think GT7 will become a very good game. I don't think I'll go back to GTS, so I'll focus on the things I enjoy doing in GT7 - I just wish there were more things I enjoyed in GT7!

I still play it but stopped trying to grind anything just for a car.

I so different tournament, but not playcas much.

Soon I try to gold all remaining licenses and missions. I skipped that part to "abuse" the old payouts

Play a little, mod some cars and wait for the next update/dlc/whatever and then I will decide if its worth to keep on going with this game.

Right now, there's still plenty to keep me invested in GT7 for a while, including the World Series races, liveries (should hopefully get round to my next GT Sport imports fairly soon), Scapes to showcase said liveries, and any single-player races and Circuit Experiences I have yet to attempt. I know it's not saying much, but I do have a firm idea of what I want to do in the game and how to make the process of earning more credits (including re-runs of completed World Circuit events and championships) more interesting for myself.
