sorry if this has been asked before - i did a search and came up with nowt..

after scannign thru all the photos on http://z-o-g.org/gt4cars/ i noticed that the amount of money the player has was 1,000,000 *somethings*. the only car you can seem to buy for less than that is a '79 civic.. surely we wont all be forced into buying one of them?? do you start with more money or is there some way of earning some quick cash before you get into the game proper? choosing the first car is great fun, you can spend hours doing it and still end up with a wreck :)

oooh, and another quick q, is there a way of listing all cars for sale by a cirtain catagory (ie, price, or engine/transmission layout etc) or do you have to brouse by country/manufacturer still?

Cheers!!

Hugh

those are new and historic cars only, none of the 2nd hand stuff is there.

SL65AMG
HONDA jAZZ $12000

BMW 120i $32000

99' RX-7R (FD) $18000

The Japanese version goes by 1,000,000. The Asian version goes by 10,000. So no you can't buy those cars to start out with. The best for your money IMO is the EK Civic Type R (9000 bucks)

You can pick up a Mitsubishi Lancer Evo VI Tommi Makinen Edition (How much would that score in Scrabble?) for just over 1,200,000cr (J). So you just sell your first sellable prize car (Lupo for me) and add the money to your 1,000,000cr starting fund and you're away! My Evo is now fully modified, apart from racing tyres (which should've been added earlier on) and weight reduction.

i sold the polo i got and started with a 95 DC2R from the used car lot
actually i am a little upset for getting that car, since i should get a slower car to earn more points

but the funny part is, i found out actually i can import GT3 save for another $10M after i got 3 cars and 2 lics.

Hey chaser, seeing as the TME came with like 14-inch steel rims, did you figure out a way to get bigger rims?

I've tried adding racing slicks, then changing the rims, but sadly they don't get bigger. If it stays this way then its quite disappointing.

I daresay the Japanese version's currency is equivalent to Yen, while the American version will be equivalent to Dollars.

indeed... this was the case in GT3... I thought they woulda fixed it by now... kinda makes me wanna not get the TME RS just for that reason... yeah, its a stupid reason, but oh well...

Yeah, it's kind of irritating seeing a 500ps rollerskate, but it doesn't effect the dynamics so it doesn't really matter I guess.

Yes it does! SIZE MATTERS!!!! as the old saying goes...

I started with a 2nd hand FC... there's a heap of cars to choose from in the 2nd hand markets.. tho it SHOULD be random what's in there... (if it's not, that's kinda gay)

it was said many times before - if you have GT4P or GT3 savegame, you receive 10.000.000Cr in Japanese game (in asian that would be 100.000Cr).

There is (well... there will be ) no need to buy a car to start racing , as the game provides you with a prize car even if you get all bronzes in the first license test .
Aniway , i suppose that players who don't like it can sell it immediately and buy their first car for a little more than the starting money.
The Autobianchi A112 will be good enough for me.

(wow ... first post in this forum ! )

Does that mean if you have both GT4P and GT3 you get 20,000,000? :dopey:
I dont know if I wanna do that, Im used to starting off with slower cars, It might not feel right.

Welcome Alech :)

What I'm gonna do is not load any other GT stats or race with any of the prize cars. I'm gonna buy a car with my 1mil and start from there.

I'll prolly start the game many times over and do it differently each time though.

Bloody Sony. Why cant they have it here (Aus) aleady!

supra_luva209: I think not. Someone said to me, that he had GT3 and GT4P game on and got 10.000.000, but couldn't tell form which one. So I guess there wasn't 20.000.000 available. Well, we have time. I will try that when I get my GT4 ... have GT4P and GT3 Savegame at 100% and all gold.

well if you get a free car for doing bronzes then i guess you dont need a car :) i wondered if this was the case - i believe in gt3 you had to get golds in *everything* in order to get a car??

personally i dont think i'll be using my savegame - may as well start from the bottom the proper way :)
