What car do you want that PD add in GT5 from the SEMA-show?

In a Topgear challenge around the test track it was shown that a flat out Prius got worse fuel consumption than a BMW M3 running at the same pace as the Prius.

Which doesn't surprise me in the least.;)

Oh, and btw, here's that Camaro Black Concept. I like the look of this car so much I dowloaded this pic as my wallpaper, something I've never done for any pic on the net ever before!

And a new one, which I forgot earlier, the G8 Street Concept, has an LSX 454 crate motor from GM Performance making ~640hp. Would be fun in GT5 because with NA Tuning Stage 3 or a Supercharger it would easily surpass 1000hp.;) As stock, maybe with a few extra bits, it would make an awesome V8 Supercar to help represent America in my planned International V8 Supercars series.

You know why I don't want the Camaro GS Race car in it in favour of other SEMA cars? What would it compete with? Without some huge wing for downforce it's about as useful as the C2 Stingray race car was in GT4.

Whilst i agree that there were far too many race cars in GT4 that had no natural competition within the game, i do see it as an excuse to put more similar Grand Am and the like type cars in GT5 too.

I am not familiar with the Grand Am series, perhaps you could enlighten me?

I presume the Camaro would compete in the KONI Challenge Series which is much more production based than most GT type race series which is probably why it runs without a wing.

I see. In Australia if we have a production based series we typically use actual production cars.;) It could be an interesting class to have in GT5. I'd much rather have certain other race series before that though (eg WTCC/BTCC)

I'm not a fan of the Prius, but do bear in mind that in GT5/GT5P it'd be irrelevant anyway because the M3 would likely be doing single-figures to the gallon. Anything suffers if you drive it flat out.

@ Tired Tyres

that test was useless, if you take the M3 at max speed, next to that you put a Veyron
at same speed, you will probably consume less in the Veyron too; so this is rubbish

no offence, just giving my opinion.

and btw i work for Toyota ; )

I was referring to the possibility of people using a grid full of Priuses in endurance races to take advantage of fuel economy which wouldn't exist in reality.

If you watched the show, you obviously miss the point. For fuel economy, how you drive is necessarily more important than what you drive. And don't be a wise guy and tell me you drive and electric car. :sly:

I read on the official Sema website that the main event (GT award) is held on the 6th of November (which is coming to a end in las Vegas) so, we should find out what car really is making it into Gran Turismo anytime now.

@ RussRobit

no it's an hybrid(just kidding!!)

got the point now ; )

And you missed the fact that they'd still probably get better fuel economy than the cars they were racing against, as the other cars would be flat out too, therefore getting even poorer fuel economy. Unless they were all diesels. A flat-out Prius may well do less to the gallon than a sedately driven performance car, but it'll do more to the gallon than a flat-out performance car.

Are you claiming that a Prius would beat a BMW M3 at anything at all?

Interesting. So this car may be added to GT5P? Not on its own hopefully.

Don't know, pretty certain it will be in GT5, but who knows if it makes GT5P and it doesn't really worry me.

I am a little curious why we havent seen any sign of the Winning Honda S2000 a few years ago yet.

@ rebla

you can find those pics at worldcarfans.com or autoblog.com

grtz,

but all the performance car, in this case a M3, would have to do to beat the economy car, in this case a prius, is the M3 would only need to drive as fast as the prius is flat out to win the race on pit strategy or at a speed equal to the prius at the sameMPG in gas that way the M3 crosses the line before the prius making the same amout of pit stops. there would be no need for the M3 to go flat out and get poor fuel economy against the prius. there for the M3 wins the race. remember its not always about going flat out in a race to win it its about having a good strategy that will work.

and before you come back saying the pirus will still have better fuel econmy then the M3 flat out yes we all know that but its completly irrelevant to racing.

Relax guys, stop wishing now, the winner is chosen (and I really don't like it at all).

meh i'd much rather have chosen mine's GT-R. its tastefully done, just like the R34 before it.
