In a Topgear challenge around the test track it was shown that a flat out Prius got worse fuel consumption than a BMW M3 running at the same pace as the Prius.

Whilst i agree that there were far too many race cars in GT4 that had no natural competition within the game, i do see it as an excuse to put more similar Grand Am and the like type cars in GT5 too.
I am not familiar with the Grand Am series, perhaps you could enlighten me?
I presume the Camaro would compete in the KONI Challenge Series which is much more production based than most GT type race series which is probably why it runs without a wing.

@ Tired Tyres
that test was useless, if you take the M3 at max speed, next to that you put a Veyron
at same speed, you will probably consume less in the Veyron too; so this is rubbish
no offence, just giving my opinion.
and btw i work for Toyota ; )
I was referring to the possibility of people using a grid full of Priuses in endurance races to take advantage of fuel economy which wouldn't exist in reality.
And you missed the fact that they'd still probably get better fuel economy than the cars they were racing against, as the other cars would be flat out too, therefore getting even poorer fuel economy. Unless they were all diesels. A flat-out Prius may well do less to the gallon than a sedately driven performance car, but it'll do more to the gallon than a flat-out performance car.
meh i'd much rather have chosen mine's GT-R. its tastefully done, just like the R34 before it.
Well it's very likely we will get that car anyway.
The winning car looks like a "Need For Speed Chav Mobile."
