What car has the highest top speed?: Interesting!

I am not the hugest fan of ultra high top speed's but so far I think the fastest (constant speed) I have been able to attain is around 300mph in the Escudo with no downforce etc.

However, I have the Versus Strategy Guide for GT3 and they have a 2 page write up on each of the tracks. They also have their fastest lap for each track. So, for their fastest lap on Test Course (1:17:70), given that Test Course is exactly 6.426 miles long, you would have to attain an AVERAGE speed of 321mph. I have no car that, without using some glitch, can go this fast, atleast that I have tested. I have every car in the game, so if anyone knows what car they might have been using then PLEASE let me know, or just tell us what speed you have been able to keep up on test course?

Thanks in advance, Civic

I must not be doing something right, but my escudo only goes about 220, i thought it was because it didn't have enough torque.....how did you get it up to 300?

I assume you have the highest possible turbo kit?

If so, all you need to do is set camber to 0, downforce as low as possible, and the gears as high as possible, or enough so that you can use all of them.

lol do the wheelie, got up to like 1000+ mph with the Toyota Gt-One Race Car (TS020) on one of the straights at the test course. It's soooo funny. The car moves sooo fast that it sounds like it has a jet engine hehehe

i got a speed up to 1246 km/h (around 650 mph) so yeh...

Just type wheelie setting or just wheelie in the search box of these forums. There's a bunch of posts about wheelies back when people were more into it.

1. spring: softest
2. ride height: lowest
3. front/rear downforce: min/max
4. TCS and ASM: 0

go above 230mph and take off :)
my record was around 10xx mph I forgot (16xx kph) yeah :D

with what car? i think using the toyota GT-One is the best cuz it'z so liight and becuz of it's so light, it accelerates really fast. i think it's faster than the escudo in the lower gears.

Ok, I have now hit 972mph. I realized that you should basically set the gears as high as possible, by first setting the final drive at around 3.500, then do auto setting to widest AND THEN put the final drive at like 2.000, when I did this I hit 972 after about an hour. of tweaking between 4,5,6 gear.

An hour of tweaking???
I just moved a couple slkiders left or right and it did it for me the first time i treid. in all maybe 2 mins of tweakingtime.

Breaking out with the Wheelie ESCUDO (there are a few other cars that can do this)... The max odometer reading I got was (2^31) - 1 mph. The car will actually run for a while, so you can save the replay with it still showing this speed (if you do a race @ a breakout track, not a free-run). The car will keep running until the game freezes up. I believe this is because of a limitation of mileage, not speed... I cannot yet confirm nor negate this.

Anyway, the fastest I've been able to post on-course is a shade above 1300 in the Wheelie ESCUDO @ Test Course, with others on the track to help with drafting along the straights. It'd be interesting to see what's possible with a Wheelie ESCUDO vs Wheelie ESCUDO 2-player battle can bring..

I just got the GT-ONE Race Car, and I haven't yet tried the wheelie with it... gonna see what that's all about..

Have a great drive!

Hazzard

(edit) - HEY! I just broke out again @ Seattle, and now my ESCUDO has been running @ 2147483647 mph for more than one minute! Apparently, it's not a mileage issue that causes the lock-up. For some reason, the car is stuck in one place, instead of spinning around occasionally as it has before... weird...
