What car is closest to the E30 in your opinion?

So I've been watching some vintage touring car racing (ATCC-1991) and am in love all over again with the Group A E30:

Naturally, after watching racing I want to play GT5 so was wondering what you thought was the closest thing in the game to the race car?

IMHO I reckon its the Spoon S2000

There's that mercedes touring car from the 90's. I don't remember what its called...

I was going to say the 190e aswell.

I wish we could have the E30. Would make for such good classic races, the E30 vs 190e.
 
The 320i Touring car is also a well balanced car to drive. But just doesnt have the sound at high revs.

I also find driving these lower powered touring cars is much more fun on sports tyres (as apposed to racing tyres).

Yup, as far as touring cars goes, E30 vs 190E is the classic match up. Wish we could also have had the Audi v8 DTM car also for its quirkyness (AWD V8 sedan):

I would go with the Mercedes 190. But I remember there was also an Opel Omega DTM.

Or to stay in GT5 topic, also the Alfa Romeo 155 V6 ti DTM could be comparable.
 
Both of those cars are VERY HIGH revving 4WD cars.. In my opinion those wouldn't be anything like the E30.

The Spoon S2000 and the Mercedes E190 I think would be the most comparable in terms of.. well alot
 
Closest I found is a 'worked' 2002. On race softs it's fairly close to how my actual E30 feels on track. Next would be the 190, but the balance is different. Power closer to the E30M3.

S2000 is definitely a no. Wrong power band, and well, power.
 
It's sad looking at this thread full of wonderful DTM monsters of the early 90s and then suddenly realizing they're standard cars, while we have premium Suzukis and Leafs. If we could have the Mercedes, the E30 M3, and the V8 Audi in both touring car and stock form it'd be a Nüburgasm!!! Please KY, please!!!

There is a video about the Goodwood festival available on Gran Turismo TV, where Katzunori actually drives that specific Audi V8. Its notable that every car he has driven at the festival has become a premium car in GT5, another car that was featured in the video was the Jaguar XJR-9, added/premiumnized with the last DLC vehicle pack.
