What cars do you think *aren't* going to return to the series?

At this point, it's looking grim for these cars to return..

Toyota MINOLTA 88C-V Race Car '89
Ford Falcon XR8 '00
Toyota 7 race car '70
Bentley Speed 8 race car '03
Holden Commodore SS '04
Holden Monaro CV8 '04
Plymouth Cuda 440 Six Pack '71
Pontiac Tempest Le Mans GTO '64
Chaparral 2D Race Car '67

You could go through the gt5 car list and probably find a lot more.

I think the biggest group of cars I would never expect to return are the majority of 1998 everyday road cars from GT2 and early 2000s everyday road cars from GT4.

Basically the Qashqais of their day - cars that got into the series pretty much only because they were new on forecourts at the time. Obviously a few are still noteworthy and might make it back one day, but I really doubt that, say, the Mini One is ever coming back.

Sadly doesn't appear in GT7 anymore such as:

  • Audi R18 TDI (Le Mans 2011)
  • Fittipaldi EF7 Vision Gran Turismo by Pininfarina
  • Mercedes-AMG F1 W08 EQ Power+ 2017
  • Mercedes-AMG F1 W08 EQ Power+ (Color Variation) 2017
  • Mercedes-Benz AMG Vision Gran Turismo LH Edition

These cars returning in GT8 as 2027-2028.

Not this again.

This is a thread for cars you think are NOT returning to GT... and you say that they are, in GT8, in 2027-2028?

Even ignoring the fact that this is not what this thread is for, where is this information that they are definitely coming and definitely in GT8, and definitely in 2027-2028 coming from? What's your source?

The Toyota's don't seem out of the question because of the partnership.
Same for the Plymouth and Pontiac. We've got new(Super Bee was added in GT Sport) additions from both brands. I wouldn't rule them out.

It is seeming more grim for cars like past family sedans. Though I have wished and/or suggested certain cars, they may just never show up again.
Ford Mondeo
Renault Laguna
Vauxhall Vectra
Nissan Primera
Honda Accord Euro R '00
Honda Accord Euro R '02
Honda Accord Type R
Honda Accord European Spec
Peugeot 405
Lexus IS300
BMW 330i

Protomotors Spirra (Even the addition of Kia seems far more likely.)
Oullim Motors have been resurrected, but currently haven't been making any new production cars, evidence of which is their Instagram page.

One car I think that might have some complications with returning is the High End Performance G37 as its owner, Avelino "JR" Rocha, has long since passed away (ca. 2009, one year before GT5), which means that obtaining the licensing and rights to feature the car again might be tricky unless his estate still owns the car.

Interesting thread - here’s some of what I DON’T think will return even though they would be very welcomed:
  • Honda NSX-R Prototype LM Road Car ‘02
  • VW W12 Nardo Concept ‘01
  • Cadillac CIEN Concept ‘02
  • Tommykaira ZZII ‘00
  • TVR Cerbera Speed 12 ‘00

All very quick in Gran Turismo 4 - but because they are either concepts, fictional or unique cars which probably won’t see much of the light of day anymore, can’t see these 5 returning which is a shame - then again who knows with Polyphony Digital…

The 330i's omission (and on a similar note, the 120i and 120d) really stings, considering how many track day rental companies offer them.

I'm biased here, but I'm also not holding out hope for the Renault Clio 16V 2.0 (aka the 172/182), the Mk1 Megane 16V or the Mk2 Megane 16V, even though they're also popular track day cars.
