What did you do in GT7 today?

I modified my Dodge Challenger, took it out to Deep Forest and took some photos. I also took a few pictures of my custom cars in Scapes. I then modified my De Tomaso Pantera, giving it some more power and handling upgrades before taking it to Maggiore. I then drove the Aventador SV around Interlagos.

Installed it. Got my PS5 in the mail today with GT7. Haven't had much time to do anything aside from just doing the first menu book. Liking it so far. Not played a GT game since 5, it's just nice to be back in that world again.
Nice one. Savour the early races and don't rush through the books too quickly; at the moment, they finish at 39 and that's the whole single player game (plus grinding for credits to buy rare cars you can't really use anywhere). 😐

That's good to know. Was wondering exactly how many books there are and 39 does seem a little on the low side. Guess I'll be doing license tests tonight then.

Hit Collector level 50, and it stops there (just like Experience in GTS).
Tried the final lap for bronze at Nordschleife again, and yay! just pipped the bronze time by half a second! No way I'll ever get gold here, nor silver, so done with that! The 1 million reward was nice!
More races won with the AMG GT3 '16 - fine machine! Thought was only going to get third at Monza (second lap pile up stopped a lot of cars, slowed down but overtook a couple without noticing yellow flag!) but amazingly the two in front (Viper and Corvette) pitted at the end of lap 9!
3 star ticket gave me Cr.10,000. Better than an exhaust I suppose!

Yeah, I expected the all-gold licence trophy to be a long-term aim over a couple of years of playing, but there's so little else to do, I smashed that a while ago, even though there's nothing so far that even requires the higher licences!

In today's grind... my S15 performed so brilliantly in the rain yesterday that I treated it to a livery update and another run today. Quite pleased with how the Gulf/Takata/G-Shock mashup came out. Radar was totally clear after my first 3-lap stint so I stuck another set of RH on, set my fuel map to lean and settled in for a 4-lap stint to the end, with just a light shower later on which didn't slow me down. Moving the brake balance rearward made it even more stable under braking and eased the tyre wear too. Finished miles ahead of everyone; might have to switch back to something far less capable for more of a challenge!

5-star roulette ticket had some tasty cars and big cash so typically, I won an invitation to buy the Carrera GT (which I had already won early in the game) 🤦‍♂️

Over the last week I have been slowly working on a livery/design adaptation (original car isnt in the game) but got to admit the clunky nature of the editor is really starting to wear on me so I didnt put much time into it yesterday(or the last few days). Also starting to struggle to find a reason to even just do the daily miles let alone any actual racing. I feel like in the past games there was at least one car that I either had a personal or sentimental attachment to and would continually tweak, hot lap and race but I am currently at a loss finding a similar connection to any car in this game. So lately my interest has been waning.

I took part in the Tokyo WTC600 with the Makkinen Edition Lancer twice, once with racing brakes and again with normal brakes. I won the latter race more easily than I did with racing brakes. Power is key, though some downforce is necessary for the southern section.

I received a two-star ticket as well. Haven’t even opened it yet because I already know what it’s going to be. I might as well save my tickets from now on and gift myself one day when I have plenty of tickets stored up. The roulette system needs to be fixed and engine swaps need to be made more easily obtainable. I haven’t received a single engine swap since I started playing this broken game in mid-March. What a joke!

Continued my ongoing quest to build a garage of monstrous tiny cars. Today's victim was the square little '85 Abarth. Towed it to the tuning shop and threw every race part on it including a mid turbo. This car is now possessed by an entire hell worth of demons. The new sound is insane. The list of cars it can beat is incredible.

I sort of have an update. Not that I played GT7 again today, but I think I've narrowed down which cars I'll be using for the Alsace One Hour and the Kyoto Driving Park One Hour. For the former, I have a Ferrari 308 that I've already modified, so I'm going to put on some Comfort Hards, then tinker with its power/weight to see if I can get it just under 450 PP. As for the Kyoto Driving Park One Hour, I'm thinking of taking a spare Ferrari 458 Italia that I won from the menus - it's Giallo Modena - then solely equipping Sports Hards, and also buying a ballast and power limiter. As stock, the 458 comes in at over 610PP, though I can't remember which tires it comes equipped with. But with some extra weight and limits on power, I could see it potentially working out.

However, regarding the Ferrari 308 I plan to use for the Alsace One Hour, it seems that even as-stock, it's already above the 450 PP limit. But I do have other candidates, including the Ford Mustang Mach 1 '71, as I do have a spare. Then there's a Nissan Skyline GT-R (KPGC10) that I've already customized - including the installation of a widebody - but I haven't done much tuning to it, so that also might work.

Then, for the Kyoto Driving Park One Hour, I could use the Nissan Skyline GT-R (R34) that I won from the menus. I may not have a spare of this one, but I can easily get another at Brand Central. Besides, I want the R34 that I leave as-stock in Millennium Jade, and the one I have is in Bayside Blue. I also have a Mitsubishi Lancer Evo X that I also won from the menus, but it was white instead of red, so I've already installed a widebody on the white one, as I plan to paint it Dandelion Yellow. Otherwise, like the KPGC10, I've only customized it, without doing much tuning, so it could still work. Yet another candidate could be the Ford Focus ST '15 or Ford Focus RS '18, as both come quite a bit below 550 PP, though the ST could very well end up getting more parts installed; it comes in at a mere 490 PP as stock.

So let's recap my candidates:

Alsace One Hour
Ferrari 308 GTB
Ford Mustang Mach 1 '71
Nissan Skyline GT-R (KPGC10)

Kyoto Driving Park One Hour
Ferrari 458 Italia '09
Ford Focus ST '15
Ford Focus RS '18
Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X Final Edition
Nissan Skyline GT-R (R34)

Definitely seems like a three-way fight between Ford, Ferrari, and Nissan to win my interest.
I'd like to follow-up to this post. I didn't end up buying a spare Ford Focus RS '18 to tune, but I tested every other car I mentioned previously. To note, I'm planning to avoid pitting for each of these endurances by using the hardest compounds available. Fascinatingly, all the cars I tested ended up getting very close to each limit. But they all required different levels of tuning and setting, so the power and weight figures of each eligible machine varies quite a bit. And given that Alsace and Kyoto Driving Park seem a bit more curvy than Deep Forest - which has two notably long straights - it may be better to go for the cars that have a lower power, but also a lower weight. Since I've already used a Ford Mustang Gr.4 a ton lately, I think I'll start with another Ford - either the Mustang Mach 1 '71 or the Focus ST - and enter it in the respective endurance. I'll see where it goes, and I'll report about it later.

I did the GT Cup Gr.3 race at Spa-Francorchamps with the Corvette Gr.3 that I won from the missions, and got a clean P1 quite easily, even though I was using Racing Hards.

I then won a four-star ticket - and all the potential prizes were cars! I ended up getting a Jupiter Red AMG A45, so that's neat. I think I'll buy one in silver to leave as-stock, and then tune this red one that I just got.

EDIT: For example, I bought a lot of tuning parts for the Ford Focus ST '15, and then played a little with the ballast and power limiter to get it just below 550 PP. I also installed a widebody and custom aero parts. Meanwhile, when I was trying to get the Ferrari 458 to also be eligible, all I did was buy a power limiter, ballast, and the full-customize ECU. Didn't even need to take it to GT Auto for any aero parts, let alone a widebody.

Yesterday I popped a couple of ripening tickets. The four star netted me 10K Cr, and the two star 30K... ittai nanda?? ("What the hell?" in Japanese)

Then I did three races with the Tomahawk at Tokyo which started awkwardly, and Rose kept bothering me to slow down. But, you know, need for speed and all that. Gave Blofeld and S'willo fits and won easily, of course. Made Rose happy when I switched to my "pretty" gold and caramel Diablo GT for a couple more. I suppose it does look good enough to eat. I should beef it up into a GT4 or even a GT3 racer this weekend.

Watched replays while my brain began to crash, and realized I'd been so wrapped up that I forgot to have supper, so that was all for the day. Well, maybe a little more exploration of that strange world of Vilous...

I struggled AGAIN at Barcelona GP circuit !

I've been trying to get at lease 3rd for ages now and best is 4th and 9 seconds behind 3rd.
I have the RX vision stealth to 780 PP which I have found better than Supra / Viper.

I have tried R Hard tyres and FMap 2 with one fuel stop.
R H FM 4 and one late stop
R Soft with FM 1
R Soft with FM 4 but stop on Lap 5 as tyres going off.
Just tried R H and FM 6 with no stop and finished 20th (12 seconds behind) as i struggled to save fuel.

I am on intermediate difficulty and a game pad, auto gears but no other assists. I am laping around 1.53

Any tips as to what I can do.....yes i know more practice but I have been playing the game for months, have A Licence and all Cafe Menu books.

Nothing new in used cars. Purchased the Tom's Supra and the Plymouth xnr ghia from Legends. Took the Supra to LeMans. Won by 14 seconds despite a catastrophic IM tyre choice just as the rain stopped. Then went to Sardegna. Finished 4th. Lost a podium due to lack of fuel on the final straight. Too late changing fuel map.. Bummer 😞

Started with Nordschleife CE.
Some easier, some harder, I golded all 11 sectors.
"Only" full lap remaining, so, why not...
Kilometers just counting, time goes and there are lot of tries behind me - but can't reach gold.
6:40.700 is my silver time, not satisfied, but it was the best I could deliver today.

Did 477km daily workout that is my absolute one day record in GT7 so far.

To brighten day, for the first time I got 1 million cr from the 4 star ticket.

Maybe ditching the auto and going with the manual transmission? Automatic sucks. The manual gives you much more freedom.

With a manual, you can try short shifting (shifting up earlier), useful for saving fuel. Coasting just before a corner, especially in a higher gear, also works.

Pretty much this.

I’d also add that if he/she still relies on auto gears, maybe it’s an indication that switching on a couple of assists might be a good idea for a short while. Traction on 1, ABS on Default, Countersteering Assist on weak.

And then if it’s still not working, try turning on the racing line.

Sounds to me like there’s still a bit of learning going on.

Once you’re taking the right lines, braking at the right points, and accelerating out of corners in the correct way, removing Countersteering Assist, then Traction Control could earn an extra few tenths.

But remember there’s no shame in using Traction Control, especially on the really powerful cars. At least on 1. It’s there for a reason.

Golded the first three license tests. Going to hold off on the other two for the time being until I've unlocked some more stuff. Debating whether to spend money on the Viper or Mustang Gr.4, or just keep saving my money for the time being.

Probably the latter.

Check the list of prize cars before you spend your hard-earned cash. Pretty sure I was gifted the Mustang for something.

List is here: https://www.gtplanet.net/gt7-full-prize-car-list-20220308/

Edit: Rolling Stone Bronze 👍🏻

Bought the Tommy X for the sole purpose of doing the glitch to grind for credits. "Tuning" the car to 500pp was a success but upon driving it I've realized that I wasted 1million on it. Car doesn't turn, spins out too easy, gets stalled in gear... But anyway that's what I did.

Many thanks for the advice. I switched to a NSX GT500 and won easily with RH and no fuel stop..
I'll try and reduce assists further but as I'd said in another post at age 76 I need all the help I can get ha ha !
