What did you do in GT7 today?

Some of the things I did today:
  • Learnt that the 'My Page', 'Showcase' and 'Sport' sections of the GT7 'GB' website (UK) are now not loading properly for me. 'US' version seems to work fine, though.
  • Installed version 1.15.
  • Completed Menu Book 40 with a Copen (took me a while to realise that tuning was a necessity for this).
  • Set times for the Suzuka Gr.3 Time Trial and the Autopolis Super Formula Daily.
  • Signed another Manufacturers contract with Genesis for the main World Series seasons; completed first FP and test lobby for the Nürburgring tomorrow evening.
  • Ran one Daily B in the 'Venator' Mustang for kicks. Started 14th, finished 10th while having a fun battle against a WRX along the way.
  • Attempted the WTC 700 Le Mans race in the Gr.4 Genesis; won on my third attempt which had a wet second half.
  • Continued yesterday's effort to import more GT Sport liveries. Most of them required tweaks and one or two replacement decals, but otherwise all appear to be okay.

How did you do at suzuka? I got second (last minute rain caught me out) in the Audi R18 you need for the photo trophy. Not my favourite handling car, I'll be going back for another go tomorrow.
I did ok with that Bugatti. But as i mentioned in another thread i forgot to switch difficulty back to hard, so i was driving on easy. Not sure how it will go on Hard.

  • Downloaded a hefty patch, almost 1GB in size, the 1.15 patch and saw the annoying splash screen on my home screen.

  • Checked out the Suzuki VGT very cool car remniscent of the Hayabusa engined inspired GSXR/4!

  • Then realised I had not done the Kyoto driving park CE so tackled that and only got bronze for now.

  • I just did MENU BOOK 40, this race today and first time round it was very annoying as I bought a s660 (reading the hint in the book) and it didnt work out, got crappy 6th or 7th on most of the marked races.

  • Then I thought hey, why dont I bust out my pre-tuned S Cappucino, it was just shy of 400pp and I tried it to see:

  • So......TUNE. RINSE. REPEAT. Won the races with the little Suzuki easily.

  • Then tomo tackle the VGT menu book. :D

Spun and crashed a lot due to my G29 shutting off near every lap. I'd only replaced the cables a few months ago after the originals gave the same behaviour. I thought I was good for a few years... but no. The wheel lives a wheel stand btw, and I'm very gentle with my stuff. I rarely break or damage anything, so this is super annoying. Can't really budget for a new wheel right now, so todays fun (cough) may be the last for a little while. When the time comes I will not be getting a G29 again for sure.

Have you tried using the other USB port? Sometimes it's a PS USB issue.

Got on to race in the new events added in the 1.15 update. All races were done on hard.

Lightweight K-Cup was a breeze. Used a 400PP S660 and a 400PP Cappuccino and won the three races in the first attempt. I love these kei cars so much.

Vision GT Trophy was also a breeze. Used the Audi e-tron VGT and swept those races as well.

Gr.1 Prototype Series…was a different story. I tried the Daytona race with several Gr.1 cars. LM55, 908, XJR-9. I even tried a detuned Super Formula SF19. No dice. I did at least snag third at best with the SF19. I am a casual, so I am not going through the pain. I want my six-star ticket now, so I am lowering the difficulty.

Finish the livery I was making

The livery is based off the 911(993) Pro Cup car from NFSIV

Did the Kei car and VGT books. Earned 10k from a 4 Star Daily Workout and 500k from the 6 Star menu ticket!

Used the S550 I ran with in the Autopolis Enduro and reduced the PP to enter.

For the VGT, I used the AMG Racing for Interlagos and the Lexus for the last two. And holy cow are the Peugeot, Jag and Porsche rockets on the straights!

I'll do the Gr. 1 tomorrow.

Aced Menu Book 40 with Cappuccino (ha!).

Aced Menu Book 41 with Lambo VGT. Roulette gave me Peugeot 908 HDi FAP (yay!).

Tested the Rampage Camaro at Le Mans. Heavy drinker, that one. Fast, though.

Daily Roulette was 4-star and crappy 30,000 credits. 4-star is the most cruel in the game, lol. It's got the best prizes (engine and tuning parts), with the worst odds for them.

I drove 352 km today and completed the 3 new menu books.

First with the S660 which I had already tuned for 400pp
VGT nonsense with the FT1-VGT which I had from something, it did the job.
787B of course for the GR.1 races.

I didn't bother increasing the difficulty since the AI is still the same crap. The GR.1 races were especially bad, terrible AI behavior and one running out far ahead (Wilk in a lzr hybrid). But as always the AI stops racing at the end of the race. Only Suzuka had a spat of rain, rest all dry. I didn't need to change my tires as the rain flew over at supersonic speed.

3 tickets, 10K for the daily, 500K for the VGT stuff, and a car (Mercedes-Benz McLaren '09) which I'll never use.

The update was a nice distraction. Race payouts are bad again, highest 210K for 8 lap GR.1 race at Sardegna. Fun track with the 787B, but unfortunately no dynamic weather.

I also completed the Ferrari collection, just 3 cars left to get now to start setting up classic endurance races

1994 McLaren F1 18,500,000 LCD June 2
1970 Porsche 917K 18,000,000 LCD June 3
1966 Ford GT40 Mk1 5,600,000 LCD June 4

Total 42,100,000

I'm glad I grinded the funds together before the patch :)

I went straight to Brand Central, bought the GR010 and took it to Monza. I then set about completing the Kei Car events in my stock Suzuki Cappuccino before realising that it wasn't up to the task and switched to my S660. I won all those events, one of them by 0.002 of a second. I then started the VGT events and bought the Lamborghini because it was rather close to the PP limit. However the car handled like a dog which really made life hard. Despite this I managed third at Interlagos and first at Deep Forest. Then I bought the Rampage and drove it on Daytona Road Course.

Downloaded the update, of course.

Tried the human comedy at Tsukuba with the Miata touring for the second time around and still can only manage second place, leading third by 30+seconds, but trailing first by about 10...twice. I just can't nail the pit strategy yet. I need to find the sweet spot between fuel saving and full attack, because lap times aren't the issue. It and Alsace are the last ones left. Haven't gave the Alsace race a run yet.

Did the first race in Kei car cup with my S660 and won it on the second try due to not knowing the layout of the new Maggiore yet. Really enjoy the 660 a lot, stock turbo, comp suspension with some light tuning, comfort soft, tuned to 397PP.

Took the Roadster Shop Camaro out for a spin bone stock on SM and it's a blast to drive. Will be a real weapon with some tires and tuning. Looking forward to the liveries that come from it.

Tried out uploading race/scape photos to GT site and it works great. Much better than taking a picture of my TV! Ha ha.

Came here to GTP and watched the world burn with the complaints about the new update... haha, despite my agreement that there are still many things to be fixed, I'm still fully enjoying the game, and I'm optimistic about the future.

1.205 km in my SLS GT3 🥳

I love racking up kms/miles with a specific car. There's a certain charm in games like GT, TDU or The Crew when you drive a single car for hours and hours. I've been driving in all Gr.3 events, but mostly Sardegna and Spa. If I combine all my GT3 cars, I have a total of 10.147 kilometers.

Got gold on "The Pass" in the Moby Dick set of missions. Damn thing took me dozens and dozens of attempts to beat. Trying to get past both the 911 and NSX around the tight section of Fuji, while trying to keep my pace up at the same time, made me want to pull my hair out.

Also, picked up the Honda Civic Type R touring car from the used car lot. Even though I never used it a hell of a lot, I have fond memories of it from GT5.

Try using this setup from @praiano63. That's what i used. Easy wins.
Thanks, I did it with that set-up (sort of, I mucked it up a little but it worked!). Won at Tokyo, was winning at Willows but went into the sand, came second, and I just could not catch the leader at Maggiore, just not enough top-end speed, but second was fine.

So far done Brazil in the VGT, win in the Lambo. All I did was putting RH tyres on, still under 850PP. Looking forward to the next 2!
Oh, won an engine for a Honda Civic type R that apparently isn't for sale ----- Hmmm.

Didn't even download the update. Spent all evening re-attaching the rear window to the wife's convertible top. Its 20 years old so it gave up no fight when she took it to the car wash. I've never done this exact job before so only time will tell if it holds. I used 3M Very Heavy Bond double sided black foam tape and hit it lightly with a heat gun so theoretically it should last for quite a while. Luckily about 1/3 of the seal was still attached so lining the edges up was easier.

Tonight is the new headlights on my car so no guarantees I'm playing today. Honestly I'd rather play around with real cars.
