Did the two last drift missions that took my an eternity and a lot of swearing yesterday. Managed to get 7536 and 5311 (Gold is 7500 and 5300) LOL. Definitely not going back to doing those stupid things. They should never have been in the game.
I'm stuck on the 1st double bend 1, 3rd drift mission I think. Don't think I'll be completing any more series that have them. Switched to controller just for them, but can't nail it. Infuriating!

Congrats on passing!

Did daily race B. The less said about that, the better. Took the Mazda Lm55 VGT gr1 to Sardegna. FM1 all the way. 1 pit for fuel... Won a BMW M6 endurance from a 4 star ticket of dispondency 😁.
Thought I'd run a custom race son the long course at Watkins Glen. 25 laps. Really enjoyed that tbf.

Struggling with the porsche cup at Nürburgring as it starts to rain half way thru it. Getting close though should have it done soon
De-tuned 911 RSR will walk it, if you have it.

@dents27 Amen on axing the drift missions. My DualSense got abused getting golds not once but twice.

Meanwhile, on the GTP account, I golded the other Dragon Tail CE relatively easily, then turned some laps at the Fuji WRS time trial (hint - don't try it at noon - the rain is a killer). The 4-star marathon Wheel of Despair gave me yet another Ferrari invite, as if the one I got yesterday didn't count.

Today I just had the best race I’ve ever done I think in the history of playing Gran Turismo. In like all of the games period. I was going full beans the whole time and the AI was cheating of course but in a really enjoyable and entertaining way this time somehow.

So I got bored of doing the roulette grind today and decided to actually play the game for a bit. After buying/winning a bunch of new Gr.1 and Gr.3 cars with the tickets I decided to try a custom race. This was after a post I saw that mentioned how using full boost on the settings provided a decent challenge.

I was curious about this so I decided to do a race on Watkins Glen since I hadn’t driven it much at this point. But for some reason when I was setting up the race I decided to do an hour and a half timed endurance race with 12x tire wear and 13x fuel consumption. The race started in the early morning and would end in the middle of the night.

I set 8 prototype class cars and 12 GT class cars as competition. I started 8th at the back of the prototype class.

So the race started and I made quick work of the 6 other prototypes, besides the Toyota TS030. Somehow despite my best driving the AI decided to become incredibly quick and this Toyota was up my butt for the entire race.

I had one lap extra of fuel on average than he did and pit stops were frequent. But after I went into the pits a lap later he would always be right behind me.

In the above photo, we were that close together for pretty much the entire length of the hour and a half race. I really had to pull every trick in the book I had to keep this guy behind me.

And sometimes he even did. Whenever he passed me he’d slow down and only ever got about 2 second ahead but if I wasn’t careful and kept focus he might have gotten away from me. Luckily I was able to keep focus and even managed to perform several overcuts on him when he’d go into the pits to retake the lead. Unfortunately he’d always be right back up my bottom whenever I exited the pits a lap later.

Then in the last 20 minutes or so the race went into the night. It was incredibly difficult at first because I lost the use of my braking markers in the darkness. I went wide on a few corners but somehow managed to keep up a good defence and stay ahead of the Toyota.

He was only a few tenths behind even on the final lap and easily closed the gap on any straights, but luckily some GT-class traffic in the boot section saved me and I won with a 2 second buffer. Probably would have been overtaken on the last straight otherwise.

By all accounts this was the most enjoyable race I’ve ever had in Gran Turismo. Intensity, strategy, it required all of my skill to keep this faster Toyota behind me while bobbing and weaving between GT class traffic. If you haven’t given a multi class race like this a try I’d definitely recommend it for sure.

The custom races are a whole new level of this game...... just wish they'd give better rewards. But for driving fun, they're hard to beat if set up well.

On the Plus account, it took a couple bits of trial and error, but I golded the Trial Circuit Human Comedy. It was the rare time a Praiano tune didn't work for me (too tail-happy), so I next tried Jump Ace's tune (with the extra rigidity from Praiano's tune, the slight power adjustment needed to fit under the HP limit, and without the suggested TC 1...and the usual weak ABS). I didn't have the pace to pull off a 1-stop SM race, so I slapped SS tires on, and that made the difference. I did mostly 2:04-2:05 laps when the tires were fresh, with a few 2:03 laps, dropping 2 seconds the last couple laps of each 10-lap stint. I could have easily done a 30-plus-second 28-lap win, but I decided to keep 8th a full lap behind and did a 29-lap race.

The 4-star marathon Wheel of Despair gave me a mostly-disappointing high lift cam shaft (no, not S) for the 2014 Jaguar F-type R.

So ermm

I had a few people over today and had some drinks, so after i got a little bit tipsy I had the brilliant idea of trying my hand on the circuit experience of Drsgon trail - gardens.

I gilded every section and then the full lap, some of those on my first attempt...On cockpit view.

Did I miss something? Was the CE of this track meant to be this easy?

Got 1st place on the Porsche cup at Nurburgring using the '92 Porsche and IM tyres. Threw it down with rain for the first half of the race, reaching 3/4 track wetness, giving me enough lead to defend on the final straight and prevent slipstream. Challenging track, just not done enough laps around it tbh.
Willow Springs CE all gold done too. Overall a pretty easy CE. The hardest for me have been the offroad tracks mostly because if you just tap whatever the game says is 'out of bounds' it's an insta fail.

Played engine swap mini game until I earned 500k and a few cars and spare parts.. It's pretty crazy that the roulette even when it's "free" can still be underwhelming.

The events in the game is slowly getting me annoyed. It's a combination of the embarrassing credit payments and the hopeless low number of them.

One race at Mount Panorama...!

So instead of racing I did time trials in different cars.. Awesome job PD 🤡

I've had an odd weekend. I was a D/S driver on Thursday and started doing some Race C sessions because I'm in love with Watkins Glen. I had given up on daily races until this week, so I decided to try one without a qualifying time. Starting from the back allowed me to get a feel for it again. I had so much fun I did it again, and again, and again, each time finishing well up the board after everyone else took each other out. I even had some podium finishes because so many people didn't change their tires!

I woke up on Friday as a C driver and promptly finished last in each of the early morning races because they were mixed lobbies with A+ drivers! I was bumped back down to D, raced some more, and became a C again. On Saturday I drove all day as a C and also started qualifying so I could start mid-pack instead of last. I broke even on those. Today I suddenly discovered I'm now a B driver and I was mid-pack again in a B/C mixed lobby, finishing about the same position I started.

And then a miracle happened: I was in an all B lobby and somehow my qualifying time had me at P2! Ok, so now I was stoked for a real race. For some reason P1 didn't actually start the race. Maybe he was away from the controller? Whatever, I passed him and was in P1 the entire race. The ENTIRE RACE! I'm not a very good front runner and whenever I'm ahead I usually screw up somehow, but I'd run so many qualy laps that I was on autopilot and was able to cruise to a 5 second victory! And this was my FIRST WIN EVER! As in, EVER! In a B lobby that I had no business being in!

Oh, and I did some roulette stuff too . . .

Today I decided to give my attention to a 13B-swapped Mia...err, Eunos, fully tuned including the Ultra High-RPM Turbo, but NO weight reduction, added ballast for a 50/50 perfect distribution. Then based on my experience in creating custom GT4 cars (Gr.4 as PD want to call them) I fully went for my own tune. Full power, 720PP after tuning and went to Trial Mountain.

It reached 185 in the after the tunnel straight!! So much power sliding even with RH tires!! I gotta tell you, this much fun should be illegal!!!!:

Trial Mountain Circuit__2.jpg

After having some fun, then decided to actually focus on the details and it was too overpowered for my tuning knowledge. So, I reduced power, hardened the natural frequency of the suspension, a tick more dampening and got a 699.33PP. Went at it again and this time corners were conquered and the car was wayyy more fun to drive this way!! When I entered the tunnel I was a full 2.5 seconds ahead of myself, even though at the end my previous ghost caught up with me, and after three laps I won one by 0.8 seconds so I'm proud of me for that!

Also, who said brown is not cool??:

Yep, I'm having fun! So excuse me, I'll be hot lapping a few circuits with no HUD at all and just enjoying life!!

I was bored so I decided to do a custom race: Watkins Glen 10 minutes endurance, professional level with weak boost, grid of 15 US cars from my garage, starting from 2nd place with a Hellcat in front of me. All cars using racing hards.

That was a lot of fun, the AI was really quick with my 750PP Hellcat and my 760PP Viper SRT-10. I was driving a 746 PP Camaro with manual transmission and clutch. In the end I won by less than half a second, on lap 3 I was overtaken by the Viper but on the last lap I managed to win the lead again by simply out-braking the Viper in the chicane and using ALL the curbs. :D My fastest lap was 1:46.5XX but the Viper did a 1:44.5XX

Don’t usually bother trying for gold in the licence tests because I’ve never been fast enough, just take my bronze and go. Driving better with the Dualsense so going to see if I can get them this time.

Got the NA and IB this morning, passed a few people here on the leaderboards. Final test at Trial Mountain took a very long time.

The last 2 licences look quite evil though.
I hate the rally stuff even more now. Stuck on the windmills super licence.

I did the first 2 with a wheel, then did the third on my third attempt with a controller. The cone knocking challenge in a square shape is also impossible with a wheel. Did it first try with controller on steering sensitivity 10 with 2 seconds to spare

Decided to try and get some cars setup to farm credits for the 600 Tokyo race, and well as the 800 Sardegna and Spa 1hr. The Tokyo race just confirmed that I really hate that track, and the other variations of it. So after that, I decided to tune the GR010 and do Sardegna 800, and on a whim did the Spa 1hr too. Spa is still my favorite track to race on in any racing game. I may try out another 700pp vehicle for Le Mans to change things up after using an engine swapped Toyota Tundra for the last two days.

Not today but yesterday. Bought the Mazda RX7 FC (looks sexy in black, better than in white) and took advantage of the roulettes. After grinding for an hour in Spa with the F1 Longtail, I bought the F40.
As I am a weekend GT7 driver, next Saturday I'll bought the 787B (if available) and/or the Enzo -depending on the roulettes and the grinding)

Well got my Gold Sport mode TT time down too a 1:37.725, will folks be waiting till the last day too slap an even better top time in as it only relates too how far you are off the fastest time and then yer back too a silver lol. Got some more engines woohoo lol, some Grmn car that I already have 2 of, like gts end up with dupe cars galore. get sad that everytime I look in the ucd it's the same ole stuff , same colours, sure GT1 had a better ucd than this crap lol. Be trying more TT tonight before the deadline is up, more time too be had just need too hook it all up :)

I'm already on pad with auto
oops :) keep at it , remember getting good exit speed and not over drive the corners :), all the best . And if it starts stressing you out, take a break :) go do something else can work wonders :)

Sorry for going off topic mate, but I saw the ship in your profile pic and recognised it. Both my dad and grandad worked in the shipyard where it was built and they worked in it!
