Friday night, gaming time. Today I completed 3 out of 5 weekly races, tried (and failed) to set a time at the new online time trial (Shelby GT350 '16 - Laguna Seca) and I bought a beautiful dark blue Porsche '92 and sold a white one I had.

Speaking of Porsche, I installed a widebody and all engine mods to a 911 (930) Turbo. I'm trying to make a track day car out of it.

A 4 stars ticket (again....) gave me 30K for my gaming time.

Saturday gaming time I spent running the online time trial at Laguna Seca. Finally managed to sneak into the gold range.

Also test drove the Nissan 180SX at the Nordschleife.

The despicable wheel gave me 10K out of a 3 stars ticket.

- Did the Weekly Challenge featuring the Aston Martin Vantage '18, but I used one that was entirely stock barring the installation of Sport Soft tires. Not only did I get a clean win, but I started leading as soon as the end of the second lap!

- I also did some practice laps for today's round of the Nations Cup at Suzuka, and got a FP time within the top 3k! I even decided that I'll bring my own F3500-A later tonight, with a custom front and rear wing, plus one of the alternative sidepod options. Not that any of these parts will impact my car's performance - and I really hope they don't for the sake of fairness. That said, I suppose I thought I'd try sticking out from the crowd.

- I also got 2m for getting another gold in the online time trials. This time, it was for a time trial featuring all of Gr.4 @ Big Willow, wherein I followed the leaderboard and used the Gr.4-spec Alfa Romeo 4C.

Nothing. I'm at max credits with nothing to buy. Need new cars to buy kaz. Need 'em soon.
I've not played in a while - but I have been logging in and been consistently disappointed with the LCD - nothing to buy, even if I had the money (which I don't) and nothing new to strive for/incentivise me to keep playing.

GT7 has been great, but as a single player experience, it's died a death some time ago for me.

I played the game for the first time in a few months yesterday in order to recreate the GTWC race at Brands Hatch, and it was brilliant - but even then, it's nowhere near as quick and easy to play (or have a realistic single player race experience) as ACC, and given that GT is literally called GT, as well as a sponsor of GT racing, it's surprising how out-dated the GT3 line-up in Gran Turismo 7 is already... where is the 296 GT3 and the M4 GT3? At least I can replicate the caterers' Kangoo though.

It's also kind of sad that the best 'new content' in that regard is user-created liveries. I doff my cap to the sheer brilliance the livery creators (too many to mention, but plenty of them right here on GTP, like Malte a few posts above) for keeping the game alive for players like me, but it's long past the time IMO that PD stepped up and addressed the growing gap between GT7 and the competition as a GT game.

@Touring Mars - To rekindle a LOT of life into GT7, may I suggest you reconsider the PSVR2. I know, back in '23 you couldn't see it being an option. Personally, I have found it to be absolutely transformative. I used the original PSVR in Sport and while it was great, it was a pain to set up and the resolution was rather poor. PSVR2 changes both issues.

Cars which I had won and really never bothered to use have become interesting, if only because of the fresh interior viewing in 3D.

The flat screen capture below looks incredibly boring. However, the experience in 3D I had at this moment was incredibly real. Those wipers are in the space you'd expect. Those mirrors out there at the end of the bonnet provide a clear understanding of the dimensions of the car. No longer am I looking AT the car I'm driving, I'm living the moment IN it.

It's even amazing to just sit in a car outside the GT Cafe and peer around.

The single player experience becomes truly amazing.

VR has inspired me to take undriven cars out for a race against the AI. Typically they are absolutely stock, so I'm looking for the "authentic" experience.

Today it was the Maserati MC20 '20 on Kyoto Driving Park Yamagiwa in one of those quick races where the game matches your PP or something.

This Maserati has an interior which is nice in VR. Its road manners are not great, however that's part of the appeal, to find out how to deal with it.

What was odd is that the unweighting which happens before the steep downhill causes a brief loss of traction even in 5th gear and a brief "chirp" from the tires. It's very evident in VR but harder to detect in the video capture. This is the first car to provide this experience at that point. There's a lot more audio detail when in the VR I guess.

Finally bought the F1 after either eluding me or having insufficient funds to get it for what seems like forever. Now I have all Extra Menu Books complete!
