What did you do in GT7 today?

Downloaded the update bought two of each of the new cars. I also bought both C1s in the LCD as I don't have those colors. I will probably keep them stock except for the rims. Bought c3 from LCD, bought a few more Corvettes from the UCD

Drove the C5 for the first time today. It feels a bit more prone to understeer than the C6 by comparison but it‘s lots of fun to drive. I‘m impressed with how much traction the car has despite being over 20 years old. Definitely a fantastic addition to the game and my favorite car from yesterday‘s update!

I setup two versions of the Suzuki Carry. A rally version, which I promptly took out to Fisherman's Ranch (reverse), and had an absolute blast. It's a much better rally car than I thought possible. Then I built a fully tuned 500pp racing version (on Racing Hard tires) for time trials at the Nordschleife. Absolutely loving this little thing. It needs a bit of tuning, and you really need to keep your momentum going, but all in all it's a ton of fun in a tiny little package.

The CR-V was the biggest disappointment in the update. I thought it had the perfect recipe for a fun little rally car, but nope. Even with 188hp (with the ECU upgraded) it could be entertaining, but the transmission kills any chance of that. The way it cuts in and out at weird times is so frustrating. It's really tough to get into any kind of rhythm with it. Abysmal car, and possibly my least favourite car in the game, currently. (That transmission!!!!)

I have yet to drive the Vette or the Ferrari, but I'm planning on a 600pp and a 700pp build for the Vette (which will be tackled tomorrow), and the Ferrari.... well... I really just don't like it. It wasn't until recently that I drove the F12. I'm just not into the modern Ferrari Grand Tourers. 550/575, 456, even the 612 (albeit MUCH less so) would be my choice Ferrari GT's. Also, the 355 GTB, the 296 GTB, and even the 348 GTB deserve inclusion before the 812 (in my opinion). So, it WILL get driven... eventually. I'll get bored and want to try something new, down the road.

So far, the Carry is taking most of my free time (Custom Races, 400pp/450pp events, Rally time trials, etc...) and I'm not mad at it. All I need now is an engine swap for the Unimog and the Carry, and I'll be over the moon.

I created a special edition Carry with a magic box in the back that enables you to play a lo-fi retro PS1 version of GT7. A small problem is that all the tracks are mirrored and the controls are inverted...

Install the box on the back of the truck and paint it chrome. Enter cockpit view, look back and there you have it.

Saturday morning and I completed the whole set of the weekly challenge races. The final ticket gave me a Porsche 919 Gr.1. It's the third or fourth time a 6 stars ticket gave me the very same car. This time I'll keep it.

I also bought the Porsche 917K from the legendary dealer and test drove both machines.

Yesterday I had a really nice 5 lap GT Sophy race in BOP'd Gr1 cars at Circuit de la Sarthe starting from the back of the grid. I was of course in a Toyota.

Coming up to 24h du Mans I will have to have a far longer race with numerous pitstops.

The S13 Silvias are my favorites, both NA and TC ones. Amongst the older cars I'm really found of the Fairlady Z '69, also discovered that the tuned 180SX is such a nice ride. Those are keepers, the rest of the list might be sold next time I play the game.

The despicable wheel gave me a Ford Mustang Gr3 Road Car out of a 5 stars ticket. Sold it right away.

My first lobby race with online friends in sport racing, where it was Abarth vs Minis!!!

My second batch of racing, afternoon races, the 812 cup race at Watkins Glen in the Clash of Titans Sunday!! all good fun!

-Bought another Suzuki Carry, fully modified it and took it to Deep Forest
-Did the time trial in the C5 Corvette on Dragon Trail
-Bought another C5 Corvette and took it to Le Mans

Absolutely murdered some poor chap in daily race C.

Pick the G70 "meta car" and set a loose qualifier of low 1:49 while figuring the car out, knowing I had room to get in to the 1:48s, but that's good because I'll start further back.

Race 1 was a joke due to a glitch at the start causing everyone from 4th down to stop at the final corner before the straight, so by the time the race started proper, 1st and 2nd were already around the first corner. Nevertheless, carried on as it was my first race of the week so I figured practice is what it'll be. Started 12th, finished 10th.

Switch to the Mazda 3.

Set a new qualifier of 1:48:4. Check the sectors and I still have around .6 to gain if I can hook a lap together with no mistakes. Through turns 1 and 2 I'm around .7 ahead of my previous qualifier but can't hook up all of the turns.

Race 2 was looking good. Started 10th and by lap 7 I was in 4th thanks to a bunch of lucky breaks aka everyone else tripping over eachother, and the Mazda pulling hard out of corners. Somewhere on lap 8 I picked up a .5 penalty for track infraction. Coming up to the penalty line I pulled to the right, aware that 5th place was around .7 behind and they'll pass. To make it easier, I left it at half throttle to let them pass, but then it happened - I was carrying more speed than I thought and 5th place turned in hard for the apex as if I wasn't there. I'll take the blame for this as I probably should have just continued on instead of attempting to let them pass, but instead they were spun around. I pulled over, let them get going. 4th place down to 10th. Racing for a podium to back of the pack. FML.

For the remaining laps I tried to regain my composure, giving my victim a few pushes on the straights to help them out, but I couldn't regain my pace and kept making dumb track limit penalties. I eventually picked up 2 more penalties in a row before quitting out.

Tuesday night I made a quick login in order to just check both used and legendary dealerships.

I bought a black Mustang Mach I, a silver Porsche Carrera RS '95 and a light greenish 911 (930) from the UCD. Then I visited the legendary counterpart and bought a Ford Roadster '32 for tuning purposes.

I also sold some cars: a pair of Pontiacs (the judge and the firebird) and a pack of Nissan vehicles (Silvia S14 '94, Silvia S14 '96, Skyline R31 and a Sileighty)
