What did you do in GT7 today?

Yesterday, I did the following:

-Did some laps for the now-expired Online Time Trial featuring the Chevrolet Corvette C5 @ Dragon Trail Seaside, and got a very good silver time that was about 3.65% off the top.

-Bought a second Suzuki Carry with the intent of tuning it for this week's Daily Race A. I also installed various body parts - though abstained from installing a widebody since they're prohibited in the Daily Race - while also making a very basic livery featuring various brands that "contributed" to the build, like BBS and Brembo. Then, I did some qualifying laps for Daily Race A, and got a time well within the top 4k. Furthermore, I was able to get it just under 400PP on CS tires, so that it could be eligible for the Lightweight K Cup. I figured that I may as well enter this particular Carry in the newly-added round at Eiger Nordwand, so I did - and got a clean win.

-I ultimately got a three-star workout ticket that netted me a relatively small amount of credits, though I don't mind.

As for today, here were my plans:

-Before the Weekly Challenges rotate tomorrow morning, I'll be doing the newly-added round of the Ferrari Circuit Challenge at Deep Forest, using a tuned Ferrari 458 Italia. That way, I can get a sweet 100k credits on top of whatever I get from this event.

-I'm considering the idea of doing two more of this week's challenges to get another prize, namely the American Sunday Cup 600 and the Kangoo One-Make. For the former, I'm definitely thinking of using a swapped 2017 Ford GT, as I had even won and installed a Stage 5 Weight Reduction for it. Funny enough, I think the biggest challenge for that event will be seeing how I can get it under 600 PP on a Sports tire compound.

-I'll definitely need to try my hand at Daily Race A, too, now that I've set a time I'd call decent. Might try the next Online Time Trial to expire as well, featuring the Alpine VGT 2017 at Catalunya.

Then for tomorrow:

-The 812 Superfast One-Make at Sardegna Road Track A could be fun, though I wonder if I could just take the stock one I have and win only by installing Sport Softs?

-I'll definitely be doing the new round of the American Clubman Cup 700 at Interlagos, though, likely using that aforementioned swapped 2017 Ford GT.

-Likely will continue trying Daily Race A, if only because it seems like a blast - but I'll see how I feel about it after trying it today.

Contemplated doing another Daily Willows run, but due to the wait for the next race opted to do a La Sarthe grind in the Red Bull Jnr instead. Similar to @jesse100190 I also had light rain. No need to come off of the RH tires, so did a straight no-stopper 7 laps.

And then went and played some Ghost Recon Breakpoint as I'd heard that game is doing a lot better now than it was last time I played it (yay for AI teammates!)

Since I had fun using the Cosworth I decided to try the Sierra version. So I did the engine swap and maxxed it out. I adjust the pp to get it to 700 pp. I took it LeMans and it drove very bad for me. I think 2 things caused my issue the ride height was too low and I added a lot of ballast. I tend to do that because I like to try to get as close to 50/50 weight distribution as possible. There is really no good reason for it but just that what's I like to do when I can. I ended using part of @praiano63 600 pp tune. That helped out and I was able to win LeMans very easy. Got a 6 ⭐ 🎟️ engine ticket and got the '20 Porsche engine. If play tonight I will probably use the 2018 Focus RS to finish out my Ford trio.

Feeling like I'm rubbish on Autopolis leads to a self-fulfilling prophesy as I tty to avoid it, month after month.

This week's final challenge race took me there. The Mazda came through, but I still don't like this track. Seems to me that after each brief respite, it throws yet another awkward corner my way, followed by another brief respite.

Anyway, it's done. And the despicable wheel sent me an invitation to buy a car I already have.

On a positive note, driving in PSVR2 is ALWAYS a joy, even on the likes of Autopolis.

Heck, even SITTING in cars is fun.

See if you can identify these interiors...

I purchased/built 20 Suzuki Carry's. All slightly different approaches to get to 400pp on Comfort Soft tires. Some heavier with more power. Some lighter with higher revving engines. Etc... All between 125hp and 138hp. Gave them all unique liveries (not my creations), and set up a few different Custom One-Make races (Boost set to Weak for a bit more challenge). No Sophy for this car yet, so I have to make do with what I have. Still, I've had a few great races. Here's an example of a fun little 3 lap race around Spa:

I am having a blast with this little car... truck... thing.

Thursday night I managed to get a quick go at GT7. I collected 1M from the expired online TT (Vette C5/Dragon Trail), sold a bunch of cars, bought a red GTO Twin Turbo and test drove it.

The despicable wheel gave me the infamous shaft out of a 5 stars ticket.

Friday night I set a lap time in the newest online time trial (340Z at Alsace), I hope it sticks for gold. Zero motivation to go back to it.

I put my Mitsubishi collection to the test at Autopolis, results as it follows:

  • Evo III 1:24:698 (stock CS)
  • Evo IV 1:23:856 (stock CS)
  • Evo VI 1:21:185 (stock SH)
  • GTO Twin Turbo 1:21:860 (stock CS)
  • Evo IX 1:20:575 (stock SH)
  • GTO Twin Turbo 1:19:494 (572pp SM)

I kept the Evo IX, the Evo III and the GTO in my collection. The rest were sold.

The despicable wheel gave me 1M credits out of a 4 stars ticket. 😎

After buying my Porsche 911 RSR GT3 car, adding a lovely Martini livery, I went to the Nurburgring and did some hot laps on the tourist versino and the regular version. I did this after wathcing a Ben collins gmaing video where he tried this in a williams sim. I managed to get a decent 6:29.3, but it can be improved upon I feel.

I've spent my weekend gaming time driving classic italian cars from the 70's. I tested the following cars:

  • Ferrari 512 bb
  • Ferrari 308
  • Ferrari 365 gtb
  • De Tomaso Pantera
  • Maserati Merak

I won't bother posting my (usual) lap times around Autopolis short track because most of these cars are a nightmare to drive in stock form and comfort tyres, so my laps were far from consistent. They have huge lift off understeer making cornering a real challenge.

However once you fit sport tyres, a custom suspension and lsd they do transform. I'm still working on setting them up, but so far I gotta say the Pantera is my favorite of the bunch. I guess I might end up selling them all and keeping only the italian panther. Just love the looks, the sound and the drive of it!

I did something similar a little while back. The Maserati Merak ended up being my favourite. It's not the most competitive (but that can also be fun it's own way) but it is incredibly fun to drive, especially on sport tires. 550pp - 580pp is the sweetspot, it seems. I found the Pantera to be too ponderous in it's handling characteristics (like a lot of American cars), but to each their own.

Sunday night and I did more test driving. This time I drove the Dino, and even though is not the fastest Ferrari still is an enjoyable drive.

It didn't take long to find out the right spot of the car (for my driving liking anyways). I just bought a sport suspension, sport brakes (pads and discs), a fully custom lsd (settings 20/10/5), sport medium rubber, sport filters and exhaust. No aero parts from the gt auto.

Classic Ferraris wise, that's the one to keep for me.

8 lapper at 30 min lemans there was only sprinkles during the race
I put together the beginnings of a two class Sophy Race 850/650 pp.

The Group C cars up front (with a few at the back as an experiment) and 512s, 930's, 959's, and A Countach in the middle. I have a Diablo sitting around that I'll throw into the 650 mis as well.

By lap 5, the Group C cars start to catch the 650 cars. This is shaping up to be a cool endurance event whichever class I pick, because the Group C cars have to make their why through traffic while the 650 cars have to avoid it.

Greta stuff!

There was a SPA classic race with the Sauber maybe 2weeks ago IRL, might be worth a try on Sophy GT to do , it was a wet SPA race so it means lots or rainfall and Group C cars!! Might be fun who knows!

Intended to login and bang out the weekly challenge races, but ended up throwing down for two daily As. Not setting a QT, both races were quite clean, started 12th and finished 7th.
