since this thread has been raised from the dead, I'd like to say I'm no longer an iPod owner. I also no longer like iTunes

aaanyways, since the thread has been raised from the dead, here's my current equipment setup:

iRiver H140 (40gb), modded with Rockbox firmware
Sony EX-71 headphones

On the home entertainment cabinet:
-radio stations picked up by my satellite dish
-a pair of very large MTS speakers - no clue on their output levels. I need a more powerful amp though. My tv just doesn't cut the cheese.

My room:
Foobar2000 for the software
Logitech z2300 (200w 2.1 setup)

That's me in the white with the K1000's on. My back looks terrible in that pic.

Anyway, here are some more:

That'd be my friend Mike's place. ;)

We had a south florida Head-Fi.org mini-meet.

Mostly just in my car on my Alpine CD/MP3 (forget the model, but it was the top deck before going to pop out display) with premier 3 ways all around, and 2 12" premiers sittin in the trunk run with an 800 watt amp on each. Oh, and a 2 farad digital cap so my head lights don't turn into strobe lights. Not bad considering its all 1-2 years old, and I got it all new in the box for around 800 bux.

At home I have a Technics reciever runnin 2 pioneer floor speakers with 12" sub, 6.5" mid and 1" tweeter, and a Polk Audio surround with 10" powered sub.

My cellphone plays the music for me when i'm not around either of those.

i have a creative zen touch. 20gigs. it rules. and i have a stereo system in my living room. pioneer amp, jensen 12" woofer and two behomeths from the 70s that still kick ass. its not all hooked up though.

I just bought some Senn PX200s for my iRiver H320 and for when I want to play a game while my roommate is sleepin. 👍

I just went out and bought myself a late xmas present in the form of a 30GB Ipod Video.

However I hear bad things about the headphones that come with it and I was wondering what sort of headphones people could reccomend, not buds, for someone on a bit of a budget.

Cheers.

I'd prefer more compact ones if possible. I'm currently flicking through some Tone magazines, a technology mag, to see what's available but all of the ones featured are more than I'd want to spend.

I play my music on my CD-player deck and my computer.

Don't have much money, but I'll rather spend them on a digital camera than an ipod.

Sadly I don't have a good soundcard yet. :( I have a "Thundering Audio 5.1 sound card" that I had in my old PC that I have yet to transfer into the new one, but I don't think it offers much difference.

Now I have a Creative X-Fi sound card. :D

If at all possible, on my dad's sound system because the speakers alone are like $15,000. I hear stuff in music that I've never heard in it before when I take it to his place.
