I've seen many people syaing that the PT Cruiser is trash. I want to know do you have against it. I like it. I think that it is a beautiful car and it's a good starting car. That's the car i used to start GT3

Hey, I used it to start GT3 as well! :) I had it for ages, and ended up with it fully modded until it would do me no more. (Hmmm, that sounds kinda dodgey... :nervous: )

I haven't used it in GT4 though, because as a 'performance' car it's not really that great. A bit underpowered, and being FF it does tend to understeer a bit...

A great looker though. I've always loved it, and can picture it in my garage with wood panelling down the side, chrome wheels and a surfboard strapped to the roof. I think it's one of the coolest cars on the road at the moment, along with the new Mini.

Anyway, not everyone hates it, and this has inspired me to go out and buy one just to take it for a blast. :)

I thought they were really cool when the first came out. I think that if they hadn't been so available and maintained some of the elur that the prowler did, they would be viewed as "cooler" cars. But there are so many of them around here, they're just another minivan.

Personally, I do kind of like them from a retro-old-school- styling standpoint.

Yeah. You're right. When you see many of these cars they start to be boring. Here in portugal, Ive only senn 3 or 4, don't remember. But when i visited the USA (2 years ago) i've seen more than 10. The same applies to Nissan 350Z. surprising was that I've only seen one Camaro and one Corvette and no vipers. Well, they are a little expensive, aren't they?

1. The PT Cruiser is butt-ugly.

2. It's underpowered.

3. It's butt-ugly.

Personally, I would never buy a PT Cruiser. In real life or in GT4.

If you want to have all the cars you'll have to make a sacrifice :) :dopey:

the vehicle its self isnt too bad... notice i didnt call it a car....
I like the looks of it. its handling and such are ok.... but who in thier right mind would go out of thier way to race one in RL? its just not a race car.

its got heaps of cool factor and its great for doing up and cruising around in to pick up but race?

I think that if they made it RWD in RL it would have been more beneficial to sales.

Why do I not like the PT cruiser..?

Well for one, it's one of the few US cars that is turbo-friendly... only for it to have LESS power with a turbo than NA... say what?! (It was the same story in GT3 too...)

And it's a bit sad when, tuned with 300HP on tap, it can't even reach 190 mph, much less 200... when you consider that say the citroen 2CV (one of the least powerful cars IN the game) gets over 120MPH when tuned, that's pretty pathetic... and that by the way is running NA... I dread to think what the turbo would be like!

There are plenty of other great cars out there you could start with... such as an MX5, which is light, quick, responds very well to tuning...

Or you could drive the hearse instead... after all it goes about as fast as one... :D

Alright, in the game they handle horribly.

In real life I think the styling is horrendous (sp?).
My family rented one for a sking trip. They look like they could fit some luggage in them from the outside, however their trunkspace and interior room is horrible. Also the build quality isnt that great on them the panels didnt fit together well. Our rented one broke down on us even though it only had 30,000 miles on it.
Plus half of the ones I see on the road have "woody" decals and "bullet hole" decals on them.

come on now you can't judge the quality of a car from one bad experience. you have to be fair. Besides commonsense should tell you these things suck.

also aren't they somewhat of a meesed up minivan. If you're gonna get a minivan i could think of better choices... some with 6 cyl engines and others with 4cyl and more power and better handling than a pt!

It's American. That's what most of them have against it.

It's just ugly. My uncle had one... and just for that, my aunt divorced him. That's what happens to people who own this car....

I still like it, and I think many people see it as, or are trying to turn it into something it's not.

It's not a race car, not a people hauler, not a long journey limo, not a sports car. It's a car for grabbing a couple of mates (guys and/or girls), jumping in and cruising in the summer. Just cruise the boulevards or from beach to beach.

While it may not look like all the other late model cars coming out now, it was deisgned to have a retro look. They've tried to keep with the front guard theme of old, but tryed to update it. I reckon it looks alright.

As for Fade To Black wanting it to do 200mph, take a look at the shape and what it was designed to do. I think that if you can get it to 190mph then you're doing damn well, let alone 200mph :scared: . You can't check out the ladies on the beach at those speeds anyway. :sly:

Noooo, not nearly enough money, and if I did have more money I probably wouldn't buy one due to it's limited use - however, when assembling my ten car garage with my top ten cars, it has a spot... :)

Along with the 300SL, Ferrari 550, Maybach 72...

hmmm!! thats your choice and thats fine> but not me. although i used to work for hilton hotels and for a couple of years in a row we had a huge pt cruse in. they had 100's of pt's show up. there where exhaust booths , pin stripping, just about every thing a nice car show would have. I've seen raced out pt's, shaved, slammed w/ bags everything to the classic woody surfer theme. They seem to hold a certian novelty value to them. 👍

meh, there ok :yuck:

my mom almost bought one, but thankfully i talked her into getting a jeep liberty. i can't be getting dropped of at school in a PT Cruser!!! :yuck:

I actually started Gt3 with this car as well. It did have one of the better power to weight ratios. Thats why I picked it. That and the novelty. Just the curiosity to see if this thing could win races and go fast was a good reason to drive it. It was also a blast to watch it race real cars in the replays.
To say the car is ugly is just a matter of opinion. To say it isn't a race car is a fact however I seem to recall winning a lot of races with it. Anywho, I seem to recall most car reviews giving it a good rating for what it is.
And no I don't own one and wouldn't buy one. Nothing against those who would.

C'mon now Duke. That looks like a sweeping generalisation along the lines of the "All americans are fat and drive SUVs" generalisation that you are always so quick to pick up on.

The Cruiser just happens to be an ugly car. I couldn't care less if it was American, British, Italian, Malaysian or Korean. It'd still be ugly.
