If any of you have played GT2 and then moved on to GT3. You may have realised because of the difference between the two games you shun GT2 because GT3 is soo much more realistic and Graphically superior. But when I play GT3 there are a few missing touches that I loved about GT2.

For Instance
The Cars
I mean come on More Muscle Cars than you can shake a stick at
And even some of my favorite cars that I werent expecting to be in the game (i.e. lancia stratos ford RS200, escort rally car)

The Tracks
Ok seeing as there are more tracks in GT3 than before I still love The High Speed Ring (the track where I first played GT and almost lost to a 5 year old), Red rock Valley (class for 2 player), Rome Night (Just Class), Autumn ring (drove it in GTC and want it in the next one) and Grindelwald (Nobody seems to like this track apart from me)

What parts of GT2 do you wish were in GT3?

i miss the high speed ring a lot it was the track i learn how to drive on gt1 and gt2 but the muscle cars i really miss.for some reason i miss the diferent models like the integra gsr and the type r like it made the game more realistic. the used cars and two cars i missed the most are the honda crx and the saleen widebody those cars were my favorate well at least the kept the pikes pike

i miss the high speed ring, grindlewald and some of the cars like
the rs200 and the used cars... it was great going into the second hand market , finding one of the hundreds of different models and tuning them up with racing mods wich has been taken out!!

Grrrrr...

Yep the second hand car shops were great. I always used to go to the Subaru one to see if they had the Impreza STi 22B, Or the toyota one to get that old 2000GT car from james bond, or that ancient nissan. In GT3 it kinda spoils it that you can now just go and buy a rare car like the STi 22B, when in GT2 you had to wait and wait and keep checking the list when it changed to see if it was there.

i miss my fav muscle car,The Dodge Challenger, mmmmm
340 six pack :drools:,well anyway why the heck did he take the racing mods out,i mean my 1500 horse viper is hard to handle, but with a racing mod it'll do better, cmon poly, lets get pikes peak hill climb back too!!!!

I mainly miss me and y2tuscan battling in out on the high speed ring from back in the day he had this annoying technique called "go on the asher" (asher being my real name) were on the corner I would be trying to take him on the outside of the corner near the wall but then he would smash me into the wall sending my car flying into the air :rotfl:

it was the most jokes thing I had it saught of brought a tear to my eye

Ah reverie...

I miss the amount of cars available, the 2nd-hand market, and racing mods. As far as tracks go:
Please. I beg of you on bended knee, bring back Rome Night. Bring back Grindelwald.

Maybe in GT4 they'll add a mod-shop where you can deck out your car w/different colors & sponsors too. Small addition, but how cool would that be, I ask you?

.....Does anyone know if the info we all put in these "what would you like to see in GT4" or "What do you miss from GT2"-type threads might actually get noticed by PolyphonyDigital somehow, or are we pretty much just comiserating amongst ourselves??

Oh man - I forgot about the high speed ring - nothing like approaching that first left hander at the thick end of 400kmh in the Escudo...

I also miss Grand Valley East - that super tricky flip-flop over the top off the hill at the first short cut (where it's blocked off in GT3 and you go left), and that diabolical off camber left down the hill towards the right hander onto the main straight.

I'm surprised they left that out - given Grand Valley was in there, you'd have thought it wouldn't have been much work to put it in.

Awww man... I completely forgot about Grand Valley East. hehehe

*THAT* I miss more than anything else. High Speed Ring does bring a tear to my eye, but GVE was the king.

*edit* ok... I forgot about something else I miss. I miss the HP limits on races... I need something other than my concience to force me to not overpower the AI cars... lol - absolutely no willpower.

:)

The cars. Not only did GT2 have a vast amount of used cars that were fun to search through and acquire, it had more exotics as well. Vectors, Venturis, and most of all, I miss my Shelby Series 1. The muscle cars were nice as well, it would be nice to see how they would perform using the physics of GT3.

Aside from that, my most missed track is Red Rock Valley. Alot of high speed corners with high banking with a nice straightaway to boot. Grindelwald, Autumn Ring, and Rome Night were cool as well. Also, I miss the Event Generator. It was a good way to get a nice and competitive race without having to worry about car restrictions.

What is the ancient nissan??

Racing mods! I couldn't believe it when I modded up my first lancer evo6 and went to put on the racing modification - hmm - not with weight reductions... I'll keep looking... to my disgust I never found it  :nervous:  .
I loved the idea of taking a car from the ground up and attempting to make a decent race car out of it, it gave the game so much variety. My favorite was the racing Speed 12 that I took everyone out with!
We need racing modifications!

68 Shelby GT500!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! why oh why did they have to take that out????? that was the sweetest car in the game!!!!
