What Do You Think GT4 Commercials will be Like?

Before I begin, I'd like to cngratulate Tarver for defeating Roy Jones this past weekend, in the interest of sportsmanship.

When the game ships this November, there will surely be some commercials for it. In other thread, I talked about not one, but three different commercial ideas. One for New York, one for Grand Canyon, and my most recent one about Hong Kong. But this is a specialty topic that's a just-for-fun deal. In another thread, I mentioned a Ford GT ripping up the streets of New York, a Subaru Impreza Rally Car kicking up dirt at the Grand Canyon, then a Honda S2000 racing Hong Kong after a "Rise to Honor"-style fight scene. But now, it's your turn to come up with a full 20 or 30 second commercial with Gran Turismo 4. So have an imagination, and let it flow here.
 
Did they have GT3 commercials on US TV? I don't remember seeing any.

On second thought, I do remember a commercial where a driver (driving a racing Viper) stops and goes into this store. But the people don't speak english. And then somebody steals the viper. Was this a commercial for GT3 or something else?
 
i think thatto introduce some more of the boy-racer they should have have a huge traffic jam on the highway and then have the trial celica go flying past the traffic jam in the bus lane or slow traffic lane and toot at the cops as it goes flying past at like 260kph.
 
That doesnt have anything to do with GT though, plus they wouldnt want to encourage that sort of driving (illegal).

Yes, it was for GT3. There was also one about a driver being chased by bad guys at Cote d'Azur and one about a rally driver stopping in the middle of a race to move a rabbit off the track. :lol:

How pathetic can you get? If you think Gran Turismo is about 'boy-racing' just because it has imports, then you're playing the wrong game.
 
What about the GT3 commercial where this guy in the ARTA Autobacs NSX is racing Super Speedway, slows the car down, goes into the stands, and kisses his girlfriend? That was also GT3. GT2 commercials usually had a Dodge Viper GTS-R racing on a track that looks a lot like Homestead or Fontana, but more towards Homestead. And keep in mind that this Homestead was before the 20-degree banking was added. GT1 commercials were varied, but fun.

So, yeah. Any more creative ideas on how the commercials might look? Questions or comments welcome.
 
Damm wish they had shown ads for GT3 here in Australia so I doubt ones for GT4 will be announced.

EDIT: No hang on I think I remember seeing one ad which showed the Astin Martin Vanquish on Deep Forest or something along those lines.
 
I think there were ads in AUS, but not like the ones everyone else is talking about.
 
australia had adds... i remember some car in on the of the special stages under lights basically sitting there doing nothing :)

looked great though :)
 
I remember one with a Viper GTSR Team Oreca on Special Stage Route 5 in the wet, just spinning around to show the water splashing up, the lights reflecting, how cool the car looked, before taking off down the circuit.

In keeping with the motorsport and racing circuit commercials, the one semi-normal idea I had is this:

We have a field of 6 cars, the best LM cars in the game (Pescarolo, Toyota GT-One, so on) racing on the Nurburgring. We see a shot of them shooting past the start/finish line, then we see shots of them passing each other, fighting their way around the circuit. Back at the finish line, people in grandstands are watching on a giant TV screen like they have at so many circuits, they're watching the game unfold but basically believe it's real. We get treated to a short montage of the cars dicing around the circuit before they flash across the finish line once more, a lap time appears in green in the air above the circuit and the camera pans up into the sky as the engines roar on, and the GT4 logo fades into view.

Why are you in this forum? In another thread you were advocating that the solution for this whole forum is to just stop speculating about GT4 and wait for it to be released, but this forum exists for speculation and discussion prior to set release. If you don't want to be a part of it or a part of John's latest wacky discussion idea, then don't be, but at least leave us to it. I've seen a number of stupid, irrelevant, pointless and pathetic threads started lately, not to mention a huge number of pathetic posts, but unless I've had something constructive to offer about them, I just close that tab of my browser and move on. John currently accounts for 2 of the 30 threads on the first page of the GT4 forum, you can hardly accuse him of cluttering up the board atm. Are we clutching at straws for topics of discussion? Yes, from time to time we are, but it's better than sitting here doing nothing or reading the latest "Is my car in GT4?" thread.
 
Do I have to make my first ignoree? By the way, thanks for the defense, Eagle. Like I said, if I'm not threating anyone online or breaking any legit rules, then I can do whatever I want as long as I abide by the laws of this site.

Now, for a GT4 thread, it is a great idea to include some of the classic cars. This one will entice you American Ford fans. Imagine a commercial whereas a bunch of Fords are rolling around an infield road course of an oval. When you think you seen everything, out of nowhere, here comes a Ford GT40 challenge a Ford GT for position, and instead of putting up a fight, it lets the GT40 go, then the Shelby Mustangs, and out of nowhere, the Model T passes the Ford GT by. Then a special caption would say "automobile history." And later after that, the ad for GT4 begins. This idea is not as weird as my Hong Kong example, but it's, well... practical I guess you can say.

They should make one advert and it should be awesome.

It should be various ingame clips and them a sign at the end saying 'Gran Turismo 4, buy it or die'.

Although they always suck after the hundreth time, like that damn PGR2 ad with all the stupid people looking like their playing games and then that one smug git at the end.
 
I think an edited down version of the current trailer would work beautifully.

Or maybe a commercial that tries to show all the cars in the game in 30 seconds, lol!

Anyway, I think GT4's commercials should be aimed towards a more mature, 'non-drift n00b' crowd. GT3's funny commercials attracted newcomers, now it's time to get serious with GT4, especially with recent competition from other games. I think showing a comparison between real life shots of tracks compared to GT4's rendering would be a good idea to show how true to life and realistic GT is.
 
Probrably should include information about the wheel as well...

Have some dude in a Ferrari trying to drive the car with an Xbox controller then stop and say "Was this the way it was meant to be?" and then replace it with a Momo or some other good wheel and throw in something witty.
 
the aussie ads should profile the ford and holden cars. thats what most of the public want
 
That'd make for a great ad, one Ford (assuming an XR8 equivalent returns) and a nice empty road for the Holden contingent.
 
yeah...or have a lineup of falcons and commodores/monaros batteling it out on an aussie track. plus quickly flash some of the other cars/tracks...it would make a great ad
 
If there was more than one Australian car and any Australian tracks in GT4 it would probably help.
 
Maybe being bullied around a lot, I don't know what's going on. Rough stuff and bad blood here. Then for the more powerful, it seems more like abuse of power than trying to teach me a lesson. I don't know. I may never know...

As far as Australia goes, the XR8 and Holdens (and even that JOSS Supercar) should make a bigtime appearance in GT4. Like I say, sometimes you have to look closely to details in GT games. What could be seen in one game could lead up to a bigger and better addition to GT games. In so, Australia needs to be represented, bigtime. That lone Tickford in GT3 coul have had Holdens come in. So let's bring Australia's greatest car rivalry to GT4- Holden Commodore vs. Ford Falcon. And hey, throw in the Monaros (even that Holden-turned-Pontiac, the GTO). And if they want to get serious with drifting, why not include that drifting GTO Rhys Millen drifts with!

So what DRIFTING commercial ideas may you have?

going by every car being in the game from previous games it should be the tickford again (or something similar)
 
Here is a new idea.

It is 8:15 AM at Laguna Seca. As a person is continually setting up his PS2, he noticed something strange when he hooked an Ethernet cord into the PS2 Network adapter. When he hooked it into the PS2 Network Adapter, he suddenly hears GT race cars zoom by while he's playing his game. Then a caption would read "take your race online." Then voiceovers would say, "Gran Turismo 4. Bigger, better, faster, and you can take the fight against the competition online. Rated 'E' for Everyone." Then the usual PS2 outro. Don't forget about the online play, folks!

So he like, hears some thunder like noises and then looks out the window and sees 6 cars zoom past. Is that what you'r meaning?

Or else.... He hooks it up. He's playing. He's controlling his car. He then hears the thundery noises and cars zooming by, But realises that one of the cars is one that he's controlling. It's making every move he wants it to do. The other cars are the AI that he's up against on the game. It then has all the usual crud.
