Its ok, last time I was playing it there where too many cheaters though.

The US Army does not use this as a training tool. America's Army is a recruitment tool (and a very good game).

Well you have to admit there aren't many games close to it for the price.

Haven't played it for a while, might have to go and give it a try.

Yes i loved this game but i got a new PC and it wont run it i download it and it says its not a valid win 32 application when i try to open it??  any help

I had this game when I bought my gfx card a while ago and I dont remember playing it very much, wasnt in to FPS games much back then.

Downloaded it again a week ago or so, but I couldn't register an account so I deleted it.
If the army doesnt want me playing their game I wont bother.

Maybe the email was filtered out by the spam filter on your account. That happens sometimes to me when registering for things like this.

Didn't the army actually develop the game too? I think I read that in CGW or PC Gamer or something...

Yes, this is a game created by the US Army as a commercial recruitment tool.

You may be confusing this with Full Spectrum Warrior, which was orignally used as a training tool for urban combat.

yep and the servers are also considered to be property of the government. thats why they, americas army devs/etc., sent e mails to the people hacking telling them that they were hacking into government property and pretty much gave them a warning.

I've never heard of Full Spectrum Warrior...

I’m also having trouble registering. I’ve tried it with 3 different email accounts now, THREE! I checked around their forums a bit and apparently a number of people are having the same problem.

Oh well. I really wanted to try out the new version, too. :grumpy: :grumpy:

That game was pure garbage. There was no real opponent to the US. It's extremely one-sided and completely lacking that whole "entertaining" effect to it. I'd rather play Wolfenstein 3D. If you're looking for a good FPS (First Person Shooter), look up Far Cry or Half-Life 2. This fails in comparison to even SOCOM.

It's supposed to be what it's like in the training facility of the US army, not a game where you go out and do missions...*digs up old magazine* Ok, found it (20 mins later). According to the article, its supposed to offer insight as to what real training operations you go through, some real tactics and weapons that the army uses. It of course is a recruitment tool, but what really got my attention is the fact that it was developed and published by the USA Department of Defense. All in all, it basically forces you to abide by rules and qualify and re-qualify for certain things you may have failed. Do better in the tests, go farther and get more options etc. That kind of thing. CGW gave it 4.5 stars out of five. Personally I think that's a little high, but it's free, so meh.

Just like in real life.

v2.5 with AI is going to feature overwhelming numbers against superiorly trained US Army troops...there's a reason that version is going to be called Overmatch.

Weird. I tried it with Firefox and Explorer the other day, both didn't work. But I just tried it again with Explorer a minute ago and got in without any trouble. Cool. 👍

*I think I'm opening a thread that was going to become old, but anyway:*

I have America's Army 2.3 now, and it's about the best game I ever played on a computer:drool: I don't like Socom, I don't like Medal of Honor, I don't like Splinter Cell, and I haven't played Swat 4 ever but I think that it can't get better than this:drool::sly: Also, I never played online untill now:D:D:D My name is.........just GT4Fan......jep boring......but it's just to remember, I keep my name for anything, so that I won't have to remember like 20 names, give some of your names please:D:tup:

And the tactics you have to apply, on let's say, the Bridge Crossing, they're all RELEVANT, I have never seen a game where some good tactics were NEEDED, offcourse you could apply them but it was always quicker to forget them:indiff: But this is a matter of life and death:tup::scared:

Don't forget to give some names:tup:
