What features from other driving games could GT learn from?

Ok well if you can take it upon your self to say we can't discuss things we wish PD's game did better on their behalf, I figure I take take it upon myself to tell you that you can't tell us what we can discuss in a free society on behalf of every one who's ever fought and died for that right.

If you're so happy with the game why are you reading a thread critiquing it rather than either playing it or posting in a thread singing it's praises and celebrating it's plus points?

this has win written all over it... while i am certainly enjoying gt5 and collecting premium cars, i do not feel the fun that was in gt4 and in previous gt's... i'm 19 now and i finished gt4 to around 90% whenever it came out so i was younger at the time and probably had less clue what i was doing, heck the game should have been less fun at that time... but something is off in gt5... i think its the leveling system. i like the idea of having cars for levels because it restricts you from buying crazy cars early on for beginner races. something is missing or something is just off

Seconded. The driving physics and car detail make this game the one i choose over forza etc. If the physics in shift 2 or forza 4 (with MS providing a pad i like to hold or supporting logitech wheels) then i'll jump ship

Crashing physics, AI, online, standard cars, used car dealership, all problems in GT5 that make other games better than it, but I can forgive GT because it feels the best to drive (maybe rFactor etc are better but i dont know)
 
I must agree with DanDiplo said in the first post about Rally Atmosphere, although, I really dislike Dirt's menu, actually, all codemaster's menus.

I think PD should study scenarios for rally. Of course all scenarios are fictional in Dirt but the are more intense and imersive than PD's ones. Comparing the older titles, rally is better in GT5 but it is boring, the borest I ever see. Who doesn't hated those 40 second loading plus 20 second waiting on start to start driving a 30 second track that looks like a dirt highway?

I really don't like arcade racing games, but I recognize that Dirt series is far superior than GT in rally. PD should learn that and apply on next titles.

That's what I meant, you have racing modification but you can have choice as to what kind of regulations they adhere to, its not as hard as your making out to make a car fit into regulations, the only hard part is making it competitive, as far as reading and understanding them is concerned, the reading time isn't that long and if you know your racing you'll understand them straight away. Therefore it isn't THAT hard for PD to pull their finger out.

The problem is, that for every car, there (probably) will be just one modification. So maybe you will get the chance to modify a Audi S4 into a DTM-car, but not into a DTM-car...or a NASCAR-stock car...or a SuperGT-car.

So, can I take from this that you have NEVER applied any of the patches that PD have already sent to us, and refuse to apply any new patches that PD are going to send us... Obviously, PD/Sony are GT5 haters, and refuse to acknowledge that GT5 is ALREADY perfect, and are ruining it by adding features...:banghead:
