What happens to the Original car color?

When you repaint a car? I have 2 of those silver chrome things that ppl seem to get excited about. Getting into online play and i want to use them.

If I use it to paint a car, can I switch it from car to car to car to see what looks cool? After u use a paint color, is it gone?

I don't want to change a car color if I lose the original or if the new one isnt transferrable back.

When you paint a car;
A) You lose the original colour (although you should still have it in paint chip form).
B) You cannot preview or transfer painted colours from car to car.
C) Once you paint a car you lose the paint chip you used on it.

Hence, with 2 Silver Chrome chips you can paint two cars in Silver Chrome but only two and you cannot preview or transfer the colour to different cars and you cannot revert to the original colour without losing the Silver Chrome completely and using the original colour paint chip...

If you don't want the Silver Chromes let me know! I'm after some from a generous person! :-) Had no luck getting any myself and I don't want to cheat (by quitting and reloading) so I need someone to be generous! ;-) PSN: X3rx3s44
 
You can preview a paint job, though it's a pain; after painting the car, do not exit out of GT Auto. Doing so will trigger the auto-save feature. Don't like it? Exit game, and open back up.

Yep, like I said, kind of a pain.
