Just curious.
Been too scared to try it out myself. Does the car just stop accelerating and bog down or what?

Yup ... you just slow down and drive slowly to the pits or across the start/finish. I was a bit disappointed ... no sputtering or missing when low on fuel and no real race-ending issue if you run out.

I did it a couple of times on indy 500 with the x2010....wasnt paying attention, but was so far ahead, it wasnt really an issue....turned the ~36 second lap into 4 min...lol

you are limited to 50mph or so, but you can still sit in one place doing 5th gear redline donuts....

makes sense.

try with tesla........
i did that trying to see what happens if power runs out....
and when the power/electricity runs out it becomes uter useless!!!
pitting in won't help nor it will pit in because it can't refuel

What about when you're tires wear out. Came close on the Trial Mountain 60 Laps in my R34 on the 12th lap. (800+BHP, Stock Tranny, Racing Softs)

You will just skid all over the place, at least you did in GT4 so I doubt GT5 is any different in that regard.

It happened to me while doing the Nurburgring 4 hrs endurance with the x1...the x1 eats fuel like there's no tomorrow. i wasn't able to notice the fuel going to the red zone, so i ran out of fuel 1 min. into the new lap, so i ended up crawling the whole Ring for 8 minutes >.< fortunately i was laps ahead.
