o well change is never good and everything changes sooner or later so i guess this is how teh forum is going to change unless the mods become more strict on the stuff these noobs post and but o well
Not to single you out, or anything, but everybody in this thread is concerned about the overall quality and tone of this forum. You seem to be concerned as well, but you're placing the blame on poor moderation.

Do you need a moderator to tell you that your post is hard to read and sounds unintelligent? Do you need a moderator to tell you that it is all of your jobs to set the tone you want your forum to have?

We're here to help keep order, but we cannot and will not police every member. You guys need to pull up your own socks. Drifting is gaining legitimacy every day - aren't the "drift vs. grip" camp wars pretty much over? Maybe without the need to defend yourself from the racing people, you guys have turned inward too much. So now concentrate on making this place what you want it to be.

Thankyou for that, ND...

I am doing my best to keep things running smoothly, and I have noticed things beginning to improve... However, it a slow process and things will only change for the better if everyone helps....

My biggest gripe is with some of the members grammar, and the flagrant use of lazy shortcuts... If everyone will put more effort into typing legibly (as ND pointed out), and following the "common sense rules for posting" and the "Acceptable use policy" I guaranty the drift forum will gain a better name for itself...

What SD was refering to is a possible "GT Drifitng" forum not overshadowed by any particular edition of GT. That's how I think it should be now...but that's just me.

I agree with this I might not be able to buy GT4 straight away either

But I have to believe there is plenty of drifting yet to be done. How many of the hardcore drifters have run the perfect lap? How many have pushed there skills to approach the artistry of the Drifting luminaries?
I dunno. It's been done for a while.

Been doing it for a couple years now... and really, how much more exciting can it get after seeing the same turns being done with barely any difference between any angles? Using any other car still... pretty much looks the same.

Drivetrains? Seen it.
Turns, forward and back? Seen it.

I guess that's why I'm looking forward to GT4... new tracks, new cars, older cars... some of the new tracks also look really fun. The Italy track in GT4p was awesome...

Hmmm...pardon me if this sounds like drift-noob questions ('S'ok...I am a noob at this :D )

Has every FR and MR car been run in a nice, whole lap drift sequence?

Has anyone done a really awesome drift sequence with an F1 car?

Has anyone drifted a lap backwards at Laguna Seca or Côte d'Azur?

There may be some "newness" yet to be discovered in GT3 Drifting ;)

Just about...

Has anyone done a really awesome drift sequence with an F1 car?

Yes, as good as is possible without hybriding...

Has anyone drifted a lap backwards at Laguna Seca or Côte d'Azur?

Yep, I have done both and many others have... The last GTPDC was Laguna Seca II...

There is newness for some... Some of us have been doing this for 3 or more years... You can imagine a lot of things have been tried and occomplished already... I still have interest in GT3 drifting, but school (and a bit of boredom) has taken me away from the game more than it used to... A lot of people have moved on... GT4 will bring back many of them, I have no doubt...

You know what I think discouraged drifters?

Their limits. I make it a point to surpass every limit I have in my drift performance... angle, smoothness, overall skill, and not to mention sheer speed.

Some people might think they're good enough already but I will never think I'm anything less than average until the game itself tells me I'm crazy for pulling off a drift that simply defies reality itself. But that day is far away... but the aspiration of the coming of that day keeps me motivated to still drift a lap at least once a day.

Good point there Vink. When you think you're the best or that there is no room to improve, what's the point in practice? I know that I need to get a lot better. There are things that I want to do with drifting that I've only seen in dreams. But that doesn't stop me from trying to reach those dreams. I think it's imperative for all drivers to keep striving to be better. It is always possible to go a bit faster or hold the drift just a bit longer or go with more angle, etc...

The funny thing about limits is, once you think you've reached them, you see a whole new limit out there on the horizon 💡

Well I would get into GT4 as soon as I can, it’s just all the money I get right now is going straight into paying off my rx-7, and I still have a long way to go.
