I've learned two new things today.

1. If you're in the middle of an auction and the server goes down, the auction countdown seems to run its course while nobody can participate in the auction. Some lucky guy got a bid in after mine, just before the server went down, and when the server came back up, the auction had long finished and some poor sod had just sold his 250 GTO for 3.1 Million.

2. If you've got less money in the bank as the current bid is, there is no option to bid, irrespective of how much money you've bid in the auction already. There was a 250 GTO sitting at the beautiful bidding amount of 8.3 Million, and I couldn't bid, as I only had 7ish Million left in the bank. Naturally, somebody else took the bid, the auction finished, and upon receiving my credits, I was back at 13ish Million.

What have you learned today that seems somewhat odd? And my apologies if these are well known things, it's news to me.

Generally, I've learnt not to expect anything in particular from Turn 10. Because when a DLC pack or something along those lines is announced, I would look at the list and think "ooh, that's interesting" instead of thinking "WHERE IS MY TOYOTA CHASERRR OMGGGG LIFE IS OVERR" etc.

For example; the Level 999 update is a pleasant surprise; albeit at the fact that the leveling is just for showing off. And the Porsche pack is also a nice surprise.

Oh man every month before a pack is announced i fill my head with everything i want, and that just severely disappoints me when i find out whats actually in the pack haha. Like you, i would love a nice JDM sedan to throw around.. would go postal for a late 90's GS300/Aristo

I mostly use the leveling for the cash because i always seem to be broke for some reason that escapes me.

1. Yes.
2. If you've been outbid, click RECEIVE CREDITS and bid again. Sounds like you had a brain fart.

Are you telling me you have to manually receive your credits and then rebid, as opposed to the system being smart enough to simply throw the additional funds into the pot? By the time I've received the credits, and am back in a position to make the next bid, surely, somebody else will have bid already. I guess what I've learned then is that you need to have enough money in the bank to cover for multiple bids, as otherwise, you're not going to be able to respond quick enough to win this.

I have learned that I can be just as fast, if not faster, with a pad than with a wheel but I have just as much fun with both.

I have also learned that I spend a RIDICULOUS amount of time in the game without making a single progress in car affinity, driver level, increased bank funds cuz there's just so much damn to do :dopey:

🤬:lol::lol::lol:

Yes, they figured pressing a button a couple times wouldn't kill you.
Yes, it pissed me off at first too.

I don't actually think it's workable in certain situations. But now that I know, I'll simply make sure to either have enough money in the bank to make multiple bids, or to simply not make any prior bids until it is time to make the winning bid. Easy enough workaround.

Relating to that, I've learned that you can use the wireless speed wheel and drive automatic, and still beat the crap out of the professional AI. And yes, the wireless speed wheel is so much fun. :D

I've learned some time ago, looking at my stats, that I'm spending about twice as much time in the Auction House than I spend racing.

In response to the OP, I've once seen a 250 GTO go for the massive sum of... wait for it... 10,500cr, when the servers were down .

Oh man, that's terrible if you sold , lucky if you bought :D, but it's why I always do plain buyouts for my 250 GTOs. Don't want to end up selling one for 10,500cr. :scared:

I learned that the strange holes being dug in my front yard were made by an armadillo....oh wait, Forza related....I learned that the Ferrari Dino makes an awesome B class car. :p

I've learning that the 250 GTO's interior shifting function doesn't work.

I've learned that I can't apply TURBOS to an AWD, engine swapped 250 GTO. It lets you select them, buy them, but when you click apply, nothing happens.

Oh man I would of flipped if I was selling the GTO:lol:

Also in the '66 Country Squire, the driver does the paddle shift animation when shifting.

I've learned that I'm faster than phillkill in tuned cars but he's faster in stock cars. I really need to start driving more cars stock. :o

I've learned that having a broken shoulder and being in a cast prevents me from racing.
Still plenty to do so I have started up my storefront.

I learnt that there's still lots to do without actually racing.

Spagetti69 for my SF BTW. Race replicas.
Shameless plug I know.

I've learned today that it is essential to read what it's saying on the screen, fully, take time to process it, to understand what it actually means, and then, and only then, act on it. Got kicked off Live just before, immediately after I'd received the proceeds from selling one of my 250 GTOs, 8.4 odd Million, and got the message that there was an issue with the connection and if I'd want to attempt to re-connect I'd need to exit the session. Naturally, I clicked on Ok, while I was glancing over the rest of the text. Did it say something about losing save progress... hang on... too late. Well, I fixed the issues with my connection, went back in, credits weren't in my account, and the car wasn't in my auctions anymore. :ouch: Why, oh why, do I have this habbit of clicking before reading? :banghead:

🤬:lol::lol::lol:

You must have the same game as me. I can't make any headway either.
Mid you if you look at my stats
Driving 15h 35 mins
Applying decals 8,458days, 17hrs 9 minutes.

I learned today that I moved up a few thousand places, with one car. Raced again with a different car, beat that time, only to find my time was posted slower and with a car that I do not own.
Well at least I'm not last...anymore

I learned that I tend to brake way too early when racing against other people. I am trying to get threshold braking down, so I am no longer being passed once I encounter a turn which requires dropping a gear or two.

The cars on the leaderboard repeat themselves every 100 spots. If you start at 1 and scroll to 101, the cars from 101 will be exactly the same as cars 1-100.

I've learned that Turn 10 somehow magically fixed the high pitched engine whine that the Porsche Carrera GT makes IRL. It was missing when the PEP first launched, honest scouts honour ;)

In order not to wake my family up early in the morning, my wife works days, two sons are all over the place, days nights, graveyard, I played GT5 with no sound.....Now that I'm down to one son left, I"m alone in the basement, no one to wake up, I still have NO SOUND.

I learned that it makes no difference what the engine sounds like, to me they are all the same. (Bizarre no?)
