As a car enthuasist in real life who enjoys racing on the circuit these are the changes I, along with my friends, would like to see:

-modifications can be seen from outside: I'd like to see the changes after I replace my exhaust with an aftermarket one

-weight of rims affect handling

-ability to change size of rims (reasonable) and tires: say 205/50/16 to 205/40/17

-ability to add/take-away mild body modifications: Option to take off spoilers on some cars and the ability to add front lips and cf hoods (very conservative and mild) to some

-reverse lights

-more used, general plebian cars instead of a million Nissan Skylines

-realistic gear ratios so that car matches real life counter-parts

-down-hill course

-better suspension modification levels: i'd like to be able to add sway and strut bars with just sport suspension instead of doing it in the last stage which makes sense because bars are cheaper modifications than say, full coil-overs

-supercharger AND turbos: enhanced turbo choice (single vs dual, ball bearing..etc)

-ability to dyno car to plot power curves

-0-60, skidpad...other tests

Evolution ...all these ideas are very, very good, and would be more than welcome in my book.

I would like to see headlights that actualy work and you can see them on the road. The power curve thing is a nice idea because you can see where your car has the most power to change your gear ratio's to fit.

what about adding some realistic smoke? I mean lets face it, one of the most fake things about the GT3 is that when you want to do a big burnout you get these fake little cloud pixels that look like hell and appear at a linear rate. If this thing is going to be the "real driving simulator" then it should have real effects. Something like Sports Car GT where you could do massive burnouts and have the smoke linger in the air. That would make my day, month, year, and most likely decade...

Oh yea, i forgot this one. How about some 3d wheels during gameplay. They have 3d wheels in the garage, but when your actually driving, they are paper thin pixels... wtf? Some realistic details like that could help. They model the cars too well to render 2d wheels during gameplay.

All I want is better A.I. In my opinion, all of the other stuff is just icing on the cake.

Hey man I only just noticed the wheels in the races. That probably is'nt as high on their list of priorities but now I've seen it I'm dissapionted by it.

Although I agree, several thousand people around here would say something like "i dont want no slo-azz cars lyke the vitz pos"... Half the fun of games like GT is driving cars you can actually buy.

Although I'm coming to the point where I wish they'd never included that damn Trueno... :D

Yeah pit girls, in all their glory with the usual PD attention for detail.

Yeah, that's very true. Too bad they aim GT4 for mass market appeal at times. At least it ensures the game will have lots of car. Meh.

I wish they had more variations of a car. If they can make so many R34s it shouldn't be hard to have an Integra Type-R and Integra GS-R ditto new ITR and RSX Type-S.

Also would like to see 2.5 RS (so far it will have it), WRX and WRX STi. All three! :D I've had to custom detune my STi's to 227 hp + 5 speed and 16" rims in GT3.

Better AI PLEASE, and the graph for gears they had in GT1 (I can't remember what exactly it was but it was better)

Yes, this too, along with the hot chicks.:D

I like the "damn Trueno". :D

I think all the ideas in the first post are good ones. I'd also like to add wheel offsets to the list. I'm tired of using an S15 or R34 with the wheels all tucked under the fenders. It doesn't look right. I want some better wheel offsets so I can make the wheels flush (or almost flush) with the fenders.

I'm not sure how far we need to go with the different trim lines/generations. Look at how many Mitsubishi Evos there are in 3. I don't think anyone needs that many. I would like more variety.

Let's look at the Lancers then...
Mitsubishi Lancer Evo IV GSR
Mitsubishi Lancer Evo V GSR
Mitsubishi Lancer Evo VI GSR
Mitsubishi Lancer Evo VI GSR TME
Mitsubishi Lancer Evo VI GSR TME (Stripe)
Mitsubishi Lancer Evo VI RS
Mine's Lancer Evo VI GSR
Mitsubishi Lancer Evo VII GSR
Mitsubishi Lancer Evo VII RS

All but one of those is a completely different car from all the others - there is no need for the TME (Stripe) to be a separate car. You take them all out on-track, stock and they'll all turn in different laptimes - not different by 0.001s, but different by 0.25s+

All the GSRs are the normal road cars. The Tommi Makinen edition Evo VI has altered suspension geometry over the standard GSR. The two RS versions are stripped-out, lightweight versions. And the Mine's - 'nuff said.

It's certainly more legitimate to have these discreet Lancers than the three versions of the R34 Skyline GT-R - which differ not one ounce in the game.

They should only have the V-spec II not the V-SPec I and II, the only difference is the torque, the V-spec II has slightly more but you don't notice it.

On the other hand though once one of thems been modeled they don't need model the other, just change the torque stat and re-name it so it's not costing time and money for PD to do that.

There is also a third - the R34 Skyline GT-R M spec. It comes in nice, pretty colours, but is otherwise identical.

I dont know if this has ever been mentioned before, but its somthing that just popped into my head the other night. I'd love to see brake fade. it'd certainly make you think twice about flyin up to a 90 degree corner and slammin the brakes 20 feet before the turn  that has just as much effect on the cars performance in a race as tire wear does and is an issue for ANY car that you drive. i just think it'd be cool to have it.

Id also like to see your parts actually wear out after prolonged use. I know the hp goes down after so many miles, but im talkin specific parts like the turbo, brakes, suspension, so that you actually have to replace them after a while, a la sega gt 2002 style

the Trueno is the most fun car to drive IMO cuz its got really good handing and also pretty fast (faster than integra)

You can actutally get a Trueno that will out pace the Escudo with a stage 4 turbo round the test track in GT3.

You need an Xport and then swap the chassis and engine with a F1 cars and multiply the power output so it has around 35000Bhp and hits 60 in less than 1 second and goes over 5000Kph

Exactly my point...

Compared to what cars does the Trueno have "good handling", or "pretty fast"? And in what world is a 340hp box quicker than a 500hp anything?

Comparing:
SSR5 (Trueno in Beginner/80's Sports Car, Integra in Beginner/FF Challenge)
Trueno: 3'25.8
Integra: 2'56.7

Test Course (lap)
Trueno: No times (wonder why)
Integra: 1'35.7

Polyphony Digital Cup (stock vehicles)
Trueno: No times (wonder why)
Integra: 34'32.6

The Trueno is NOT a supercar - it's just another vehicle (and I AM glad to see it in the game - variety is the spice of life and all that).

You might see something like that in GT4. Yamauchi said, in a magazine interview I have, that the suspension parts would wear out, and would need replacing. Also, in an interview found on the net, the battery could fail during a race, and you would have to pit to change it.

If PD has gone this far, maybe changing the brakes is a possibility too. I hear, from people who have tried GT4, that the braking is much different from GT3. It takes longer to brake, and the brakes could lockup on you if you use them too hard. So, brake fade sounds like a good possibility as well.

Do you have any links? That would be good if the parts wore out, it would make you take more care of the car.

It's the same one I gave you yesterday. You need to spend some time, and I mean some "time" and just click on anything or everything. There is so much stuff there to discover, and so many things to click on, you could spend a week on it, and only know half as much what I and others have given here at GTP.

Make sure you keep this web link, and check back often. If you scroll down to the middle you will see news is updated once in a while. At the bottom is list of web links that have new info, or pics, and they have the dates in english, so it's easy to spot before you translate it. Here it is now.

oohh, thatd be nice. thats what i loved most sega gt 2002, that you had to "repair" your parts after so long, and things could fail on you. that and the fact that you could turbo a Z06 vette :trouble: theres nuthin like hearin a BOV sound come outta that thing...
