What if I don't update?

Hi there, hope this hasn't been posted already but here goes...

I use my PS3 in 2 locations, 1 where I can use PSN and 1 that I have no access to PSN at all.

My question is that I keep hearing about the need to update GT5:P when you get it, If I try to play it without updating from the PSN will it refuse to play? if it does let me play what features am I missing?

I just need to know so I can plan where to be when my copy arrives, sorry for my lack of knowledge but I only got my PS3 a few days ago at not totally familiar with the layout etc yet, so thanks for any help! much appreciated :)
 
Your game will not "know" if you need to update unless your PS3 is connected to internet, but you will need to update the game to have the latest features. It's about the same as your PS3 when your somewhere playing when your not on the internet it will not tell you that you need to update.

Does anyone remember if any major features are missing that would prevent me playing through the single player game? I'm not too bothered about online just yet anyway.
