What if there was an option to make GT mode totally online?

Each event would be a lobby and you would race against other people who selected the event around that time.

I feel like would be a good solution for those that want online play without having to go through single player.

What do you think?

I really have been wishing that consept to being in GT5 many years... looks that Japanese just dont understand that Online is only way to go today. Quite many Game-industry analysts have said that Japanese developers are many years behind others nowadays because they dont look around... they just keep up copying their best-sellers from 90's.

^True BUT its a little different from pure online games like COD MW2 and COD BO... i didnt even touch Singleplayer modus in Modern Warfare 2... only online.

I could survive GT5 even if it didnt have an online mode! But luckily we do

I think it would be cool but I would definitely want some kind of ranking or matchmaking... like to do career online you must bronze a large section of license tests and you can be voted out of rooms for being a tool. This is where XBL's feature of not liking a certain player was a good thing...

It would remove the annoying AI from the picture and force more race rules that would equate to more competitive races, but GT5's progression system would still need to be fixed.

I'd prefer online being completely separate from offline and focused on racing, not earning credits. However, both ideas can coexist.

Don't forget qualifying. It should be in offline already. But it's needed for online races with money. Actually, it should be in current online races too, as an option anyway.

That would be very interesting, as I thought that them making licenses optional would factor into online somehow, but no such luck. Matchmaking was "supposed" to be in from the start, as I read in my manual that came with my game...I'm a tad upset about that also the credits for winning races online was "supposed" to be in from the start as well. It's all in the manual, go figure. :nervous: What is going on?

I said in another thread that giving us online series like GT Life would be a good idea, winning credits and deducting for damage would be instant win, as I would race online a lot more than playing the short and unfortunate and lackluster grinding. GT3 and 4 had better grinding, win prizes and then sell them, why fix what ain't broke?

They better pay out a handsome sum of money for entry and extra bonus for winning. I'm decent being a GTer since GT1, but I can guarantee there are TONS of people out there that would take me to school making me dead last. with that in mind, it'd probably take the average Joe years to "beat" the game.

No, I think online should be totally separated from offline. Keep it as Gran Turismo as it used to be.

GT1, GT2, GT3 and GT4 was totally offline and loved it. I feel that having an online component in the series is totally inappropriate.

To be honest, I was a bit disappointed that GT5 includes online, which could take up PD's time to look after rather than single player. It kind of ruined the game for me. GT5 just doesn't feel as good as GT4, I am concerned if the online multiplayer have reduced the quality of the game.

Yes with qualifiers and rankings for sure... I mean I like the idea of going online but I don't want to get stuck in rooms with people who are just far better than me on a regular basis.

No one is saying take out offline career... relax... you can have your cake and eat it too.

Offline gaming is pathetic and consentrating into it will kill whole GT-series.

Wouldn't work. What if you wanted to do a certian race, but no body else was doing it. Then you'd race yourself or maybe even just one other person. Waiting to get a full lobby to do a race would be pathetic. Plus even worse would be difference between skill levels. You need 1st, 2nd or 3rd to complete the race right? Well what if you always got matched up against decent people and could never win? It would only take just 3 good players in the lobby to make sure no one else could complete the race.

AI could fill empty slots... and qualies for mandatory ofcourse. It's just ridiculous GT5 dont have them!

It would be awesome to have event races set by game designers and you had to race through 5 or six races to gain not only a trophy but also a car.

What if I didn't have an internet connection? How much are you planning on detracting from the offline portion to implement such a thing?

Then AI would fill every slot and your game would be just as boring as it is now.
