I finally got my hands on G27 and I'm happy as one can be :D but I don't know how to properly set it up in profiler or game for GT6 in different events or is there universal setting which fits all? ( for explain "different events" means racing or cruising roadcar then racing a racecar and drifting a roadcar or racecar ) Now I'm just playing with factory default settings in profiler with 900 Degress of rotation and in game I'm using Simulation type with Steering assist off and FFB on 10. It's good for driving and cruising some of slower cars or fast cars at slower pace but i don't know if it's good for racing or drifting especially for drifting because I want to learn how to now when I have proper wheel.

If there is a thread for discussing this sort of problem then please redirect me and then feel free to lock or delete thread. Thank you :gtplanet:

If this is your first wheel , then practice is the answer. More time you'll drive with / use It , more you'll get used and better your times will be.

Note that some of those wheel settings in menus are only for specific wheels ie. type of steering (amateur-pro-sim) is only for old 270 deg wheels (you'll see only those wheels get highlighted when setting up this setting) , so it doesn't change anything when used with 900deg wheels like dfgt,g25,g27...:D

I do not own G27 (only dfgt) but I'd say that you should tone down ffb (got mine on 4-6) because with too much ffb you loose some of ffb details and probably end up "wrestling" with the wheel. I suggest you search forum , there are some good topics on wheel setups and preferred settings for different wheels.

Turn off power steering, set your FFB level ( 5 is fine though ) and your good to go.:)

@JohnyGT, Even some settings are not functional(?) I have mine set; options - Simulation ON, Power assisted steering ON, FFB 6 (or sometimes 5). Game/track menu - Active steering OFF, Sensitivity 6.
Then comes options what you have to adapt from your personal feelings: G27/G25/(DFGT?) - Undocumented wheel lock settings - Guide
I'm mostly switching on between 670 and 900 degrees, then maybe placebo or just mantra to do is that always even using 900 degree I first turn to 670 and then back to 900, maybe it reduces deadzone from 900 or not ;)

Check out this thread to change the wheel lock settings : https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/threads/g27-g25-dfgt-undocumented-wheel-lock-settings-guide.286646/

I prefer mine on around ~650 degrees, for drifting you may prefer a lower degree as you want to be able to counter steer faster. This can be changed on the fly in-game by using a combination of button presses as shown in the thread.

I use FFB 5, no aids except abs 1, power steering off.

The thing you might find the most difficult at first is catching slides and counter steering fast enough out of them. It took me around a month or so to start noticing the little cues the wheel is giving to tell you what the car is doing. But once you work it all out you will be catching slides and drifting in no time at all. Just remember with the wheel and pedals, smooth inputs is the key, try to be as smooth as possible steering and with our throttle and brake control.

Good luck.

Edit : tree'd

Thanks for all of your responses. I would never knew that G27 have these secret combinations to set degrees of rotation :D

Besides the secret steering degree locks the only things you can change for the G27 in Gran Turismo is the Force Feedback strength and power steering on/off. The "simulation" has no effect on the G27, that's only for wheels that don't have 900 degrees rotation. Whatever profiler your using has no effect on Gran Turismo. So basically, pick a FFB strength you like, decide if you want power steering on or off (all it does is cut the feedback if you make quick inputs/corrections, it's not actually anything like power steering) and then you're done. 👍

I guess he refers to the Logitech Profiler which is essential to use/install when using Logitech Wheels on PC.
Notice that nothing (!) you set there is written to your wheel. It only has effects on PC Software, it toggles the driversettings for Windows only on your Computer.
As Brandon said, don't use "Power Steering", set FFB to an amount you like (I like 4 on DFGT) and there you go.
As mentioned before, only "highlighted" wheels are compatible with certain options in GT.

Really not sure about that as i recently bought a G27 and use that tool to setup the centering spring force
i hate the fact that even with the car stopped, if you turn the wheel a bit (let say 30°) and release it
it will bounce left right left right forever .. it's a pain in straight line
i'm stuggling to try how to stop that with the centering spring force from the global setting of the logitech tool

you have to check the option "don't let the game overide the settings" to keep it when plugin the wheel into ps3

As Brandon said, don't use "Power Steering"

Ditto, power steering causes the wheel to go light and all road feel disappears for a moment, In my opinion this ruins the "feel" of a wheel.

The most important calibration is you getting used to the wheel, practice practice practice.

And don't forget we have a sub section just for these kind of questions.

This and all (!) other settings in Logitech Profiler are solely for PC Software/Games!
That's why it's called "Logitech Profiler", you point it to a certain game *.exe file to create a profile for a specific PC game. No more, no less.
Whatever you set there, it will have no effect on PS3.

I thought wheel itself has some sort of memory device which you program on your PC and then just plug in PS3 and play. Well it looks like I was wrong :D

That apply to Fanatec Wheels; they store (updateable) firmware and up to 5 or 6 profiles direct in the wheel. They have direct hardware tuning options which have effect on every machine (e.g. PC, PS3, XBOX360) but from what I've heard so far, it's good to set them neutral on PS3, kinda mess things up on consoles.
Btt: yes, you were wrong but hey, put your PC aside (or take a look at Assetto Corsa) and enjoy easy setup gaming with PS3 and GT6. :)

feedback 10, power steering off, when you go on the track for the first time everytime you start up the game, hold the 2 center red buttons on the shifter portion and then press what would be the circle button ( the 4 black buttons ) all 4 black buttons change your steering rotation and stiffen up the dead zone in the wheel, i like the circle button best.

Global settings says it store the settings in the memory of the wheel
if not, i wonder why when playing with the centering spring force i feel a difference in gt6
now i'm at 25% and the effect i described is really much lighter than when that setting is at 100%

Easiest to verify if profiler works for PS3: Try using: combined pedals. In fact, I will try it in a minute and I bet it's not gonna work on PS3.

Your effect is probably placebo, centering spring should center the wheel all the time, e.g. you stand still in GT6, turn your wheel to either side, centering spring would turn it back to centre position.

I can confirm it doesn't work: I've tried both combined pedals and centering spring. None of them worked. It's just placebo. And I've disabled "allow game to adjust settings". PS3 has its own drivers which are controlled by the game. Or by the secret change of steering angle.

Thanks for confirmation fifomaniak.
By the way @Le_Manuz: this spring setting is only used for very old PC games, where FFB wasn't present or incorrectly implemented.

Just random: I feel the option for 670 degrees is the best. Not too sensitive like 450, but not too spread out like 900

don't know where my placebo effect comes from
i finally found how to remove that center bounce effect
i set the power steering off and it's gone
didn't knew it will do it, i was trying to get rid off the "loose grip feeling" in slow curves
