What is the best buyable LMP car?

I am doing the DTM race in the European Hall, and making around 900000 a go. Now that I finally have enough credits, which is the best LMP car I can buy? I can't get the Minolta because I'm only 12% done with the game.
I am leaning towards the Pescarolo 04, but I would like some more input. So, in your opinion, which LMP car is most worth it?

Edit: please ignore my stupid signature and location, I'm leaving them intact since I joined in 2002. Yeah, this is my first post.
 
I'd go for the Pescarolo or the BMW V12 LMR, even though it's not quite as quick. The Audi R8 is an excellent choice too, but you can win that, so it's not worth it to spend the money on that.

You're leaning the right way. When you get it, immediately raise the front ride height to 80, but you can leave all the other suspension settings stock, at least at first. Otherwise, just turn off ASM and adjust the transmission Autoset for each track. You might also want to reset the LSD to 10/27/13.
 
you're bound to get plenty of different answers. my tip may not help directly, but if you are gettting near 694 days, save up for the black beauties. at 12% you probably are way off that game day, but if you have been doing heaps of money races you may be getting there. The pick of the black beasts is the 787Beee. Tho to be honest put a stg4 turbo on any one of the LMPs and you should be alright for this race.
 
Or don´t put any upgrades in and you´ll be fine anyway...AI can´t handle these cars very well, wich means you win anyway.
 
Personally I'm with daan. I would wait a little while, until 25% completion and open up the Endurances. You can easily win the Minolta at the El Capitan endurance with practically your car of choice. Eons ago when I first won the GTWC it was with the Minolta. There are better handling, but the Minolta can be setup to be an incredible car, with lots and lots of tuning. There are several good setups for it floating around here at GTP.

It has the best design and iit is the newest and most powerful LMP car ;)




Even the 2003 model might be the (2nd) fastest LMP car in the game cause
it has about 800 PS (same as the 2004)in the game:



But the 3rd fastest LMP car is probably the Audi :dopey:
We´ll have to wait for the 2005 Playstation Audi R8 team oreca to have
a better commparison :)

the pescarolo 03' is also a fine choice. tire life is amazing.
the mazda 787B is also a great car. it's light, quick and nimble :)

I think that part of the reason that tire life is so good on the Pescarolo is that there is little or no wheel slip. Driving the Minolta or R92CP, I notice that up through about 3rd gear, there is a little bit of slip.
