It seems like all the Super GTs have around 1100 KG and 443 BHP.
Not sure how this will stand up against an Amuse S2000 GT1.

I'm up against an amuse with over 600 BHP...

Yes I know, you can always tune your car a bit if you need to, they can get up to 400hp or so.

The amuse may have 600hp but I seem to remember it has sports tyres, you're racing tyres are enough to keep up with it and even beat it round the twisty corners of tsukuba.

The amuse also burns through tyres very quickly. The tortoise wins the race. ;)

for me no! not without a save game option, for you I sugest you to take twice as fast car as other drivers, so you can rest your mind and arms in the middle of the race and drive not so fast. After some time my problem was making more mistakes.

Sports tyres?
Weird...

A faster car won't make the race as fun.
As explained by GasolineJunkie.

.

I just bought one to find out, and it turns out it has R1's. That said, the Amuse is a tuner car not a race car and this counts for a lot. It lost to the Audi R8LMS in my 4 hours of the 'Ring, which says a lot given the R8 has nearly 90hp less and weighs nearly 200 kilos more.

The GT300 is more than capable of dispatching the amuse, afterall it is a race spec vehicle and more importantly, it won't be in the hands of the AI.

R1 are racing hard tyres.
So a GT500 or a super GT should do the job?
I don't think I should do an Amuse s2000 GT1 against the AI's Amuse S2000 GT1 because the AI would still lose due to their incompetence.

I just attained level 30, and I'm contemplating our question here.

I've been thinking all along of doing it with my Nissan Calsonic Skyline (JGTC). Which is a very appropriate car of the same class as the others. It's Premium. And it's 4WD.

My question is, does it rain during this event?

I GT500 will do the job, but you will probably have a lonely race at the front. I still recommend a GT300. 👍

I assume you are speaking of the Suzuka 1000km?

In which case, yes it may rain during the event, it did for me. But the weather is dynamic and is different for every race.

For reference, I completed the suzuka 1000km in a GT300 cusco impreza with a a bit of tuning to bring it to 400hp. I won by approximately 4 laps, but most of that lead was pulled out when it was raining.

I understand, still its 9 freaking hours  any car for me in video game (best game) would get very uncomfortable after some long time. I will read on this maybe someone will sugest that perfect one for me. 👍

How about the Lotus 111R RM nice car fun to drive handles well should be able to set it up for a very close race if that is your wish.

So even with a car over 100 BHP less than the Amuse will still win by a lot?
Can you suggest me a GT300 then?

I would recommend the Amemiya Rx-7 (premium)

If you buy it and give it an oil change it has 326hp. Like this, it will be a very difficult and gruelling race trying to beat the amuse.

Soft tyres will make this race much easier, they barely wear faster than the hard tyres but are worth at least 3 seconds per lap.

The car can be tuned to 486hp if you wanted to, so it won't be far behind a GT500 car.

One last note, I would strongly recommend you ran with full downforce at this track, its worth a fair chunk of time, and makes the car a fair bit more drivable on cold tyres.

I believe that I have found the perfect car.
An Acura NSX '91. This can be bought Premium from the Acura Dealership.
Perform Race Modifications FIRST. I then painted my wheels so lime green colour and the body black.
Perform Oil Change. Buy Racing Soft Tyres, all Drivetrain, Suspension and Transmission. Buy a Titanium Racing Exhaust and Rigidity Improvement.
After all of this, my car had 294 BHP and 1045 KG.
Much less power than the Amuse.
I went to test it at the Tsukuba Endurance and by lap 5 sector 1 I was ahead.
So as you can see, you won't be first from the first corner, in fact, after the first lap I was 3.5 seconds behind the Blitz.
The Amuse was stuck behind another car, but I'm sure when that gets free, it'll be catching up to me.
It looks like it'll be good for some competitive racing.
A very underpowered car should do the job 👍
I only ran the tests until the end of lap 5 to see how far I was ahead.
I was 0.8 seconds ahead but the Blitz was catching me on the straights.

I'm stuck between the Nissan Super GTs, the Honda Super GTs and the Toyota Super GTs.
Anyone with past experience in these cars have any suggestions?

Although I don't have any past experience with these cars in GT5 (I've only got the Toyota TOM'S Castrol Supra), I think they're all basically the same; they're all built to the same restrictions (well, there are the two classes (300 and 500)) so they should all be equal. If I remember correctly, though, in real life the NSX was the car to beat.

Also, watch this (WARNING! It's loud):

I tried the ARTA NSX this morning,it has about the same BHP and KG as the other Super GTs, it was too fast, would make for a boring race.

X1 2010, drive for 5 hours leave car for 4 hours. BAM! nine hours done in 5

I like the sound of this.
Anything to cut the time having to drive this race is a welcomed relief.
I hate the X1 2010, but it may be useful for something after all.

In that case use the FGT, using the X1 for that long will make other cars feel weird.

I started a similar thread. Here is my answer to the question.

Driving any track for 9 hours has got to be pretty boring.

I thought about this when I selected which car to drive for 9 hours at Tskuba. I selected the Suzuki GSX-R/4 Concept '01. If you are not familiar with this car it is a small, light weight (640 kg), open cockpit with a motor cycle engine producing 259 hp. I upgraded the engine to 289hp and put racing soft tires on it. I set the aerodynamics to maximum down force.

The cars you are up against are much larger and more powerful. Most of them are faster on the straight. The best of them will run about 59 sec per lap, so you have to beat that.

I am over 1/3 of the way through the race. I am averaging 56.5 sec/lap including pit stops so I have a comfortable lead.

What makes it fun is that the Suzuki Concept can run fast off the racing line. You can pass by out breaking, out turning , and even passing on the outside of the final sweeping turn. Because Tskuba is so short, there is lots of passing. The Suzuki is built for this and this track.

The Suzuki is not lightning fast like a FGT, F1 Ferrari or Redbull, it is just really fun to drive. Try it, you'll like it and make the 9 hours go a little faster.

I personally don't find driving the super fast cars that relaxing. They are so fast you have to concentrate all the time. I don't know how fast an X1 can do Tskuba but I don't believe it is 30 sec a lap. Perhaps it would do 40 sec laps, since you need at least 540 laps to win which would require 6 hours if you average 40 sec/lap. That would burn my brain out. I prefer nine hours of having fun zipping in and around the high powered tuners I am up against.

Enjoy + Tsukuba 9 Hours = a contradiction in terms!

:sly:

I would rather do 9 hours of Fuji or 9 hours of Suzuka than 9 hours of Tsukuba.

9 hours of High Speed Ring would've been awesome.

I did it with the ZZ-S. I didn't draw the Amuse, but the leader was the white Mine's Skyline and was averaging about 1:00, for comparison. The competition is clearly running on Racing tires. I did it with (mostly) Racing Softs and non-power upgrades: suspension, tranny, etc. And a wing, but I minimized it to 5 and don't know that it did much, but I was too lazy to remove it. I think it could be done stock, because these mods only gained me about 1 sec/lap and I won by 12 laps, which is well in excess of 1 sec/lap. Also, I kept life interesting by trying different tires. I'm not a big fan of 9 hours on Tsukuba, especially already having the 4-hour Roadster/Miata/MX-5 race, which seems quite enough. However, if you can only have 12 cars on the track, a short track does emphasize traffic. And that's where the short test runs (<~40 laps) betray finding a challenging race, because the AI seems to slow down much more than necessary in traffic, but this doesn't show up until the snake catches its tail. It's a little bit frustrating that one doesn't know how much the AI has changed since the original posts.

I took a ZR-1 race modded, maxed out with racing hard tires

I detuned the power until my PP was the same as the top competition

Was bloody difficult, took me a good 25 minutes to get into first place

Ended up winning by about 5-7 minutes

Overkill but i did it in the fgt by accident & didn't get bored once & i was bored ****less doing the 4 hr race
