ok we all dream but what is the best car you have actually driven and I dont mean been a passenger but you were the driver even if the car was not yours

The 1982 Toyta Celica that was my first car. It had great shifting and handeling. It looked like a box but it was a nice car. I sold it for like $100 and it had 210,000 miles on it and an oil leak.

ok for me I have had a lot of time to drive many thing back in the 80's I was a tyre fitter and we had many cars come through some just a case of moving them off the fitting floor when finished but some from Doctors who had there cars picked up and delivered and being Doctors there was Merc's, Jag's and Porsches all of verious models.
Today being the age that I am I can work into almost any car yard and take almost any thing for a test drive ... something both me and the wife love doing when we are bored and with the wife in toe the think you are a serious buyer .. Thats what they think

I enjoy driving more the classics like older merc's Jag's etc and love American Muscle cars of the 70's loke Corvettes etc but I think apart from the Jag that I now own (Seriers 3 V12) I would say the most mermoryable was a 1961 E Type Jaguar

Im net to acutully drive a Ferrari or a Lambo ..What am I doing tomorrow now that I think about it

500+kW VT GTS for seat thumping power...handling was pretty bad.

best handling car would have to be a subaru liberty B4. didnt have the thump but it did have an easy turn and good grip quality the commodore didnt. full credit to vat_man who got me interested in the subaru liberty's

A friend of mine at work let me drive her Mitsu 3000GT. Neat car, but very small inside.

My dad said that over the summer me and him will test drive some porsches at our local BMW/Porsche/Mercedes Dealer. :) YAY!!

my mom's '92 MPV...pulling out of the garage and/or back in...

But I have "Driven"(in these cases, it means I steered a car without an engine or a car that didn't run)a Millenia S, RX-7(2nd gen), V6(although it didn't have one at the time) Camry('91), and a Legacy Wagon('93)...

I've driven a
Toyota Corona (1980)
Hyundai something (really crap old car)
Toyota Hiace (or something) van. (did a burnout in it too!)
Ford Telstar (1995)

And most definately the best car of the lot...

My Dad's new Nissan Skyline GTS-4 (R32).

That car is so freaking fast, that it's not even funny.
He got it up to about 110km/h, from a standing start, in just about a block. (4 or 5 houses to a block) And the funny thing is, that the speed limit was 50km/h... There is a cop in that town that is always trying to find a way to pull Dad over too.

When i drove it a few minutes later, i took it out of town (because 50km/h is too slow for me!) and i got it up to 120km/h pretty quickly. I would have gone faster, but i didn't know the road that well. (Dad said he once got it up to 180km/h but 'ran out of road'.)

And the car corners amazingly well. Nothing like the GT-R's in Gran Turismo 3.
My only complaint was that the brakes don't seem too responsive. But i may not have been pressing the pedal hard enough. Who knows?

I have definately got a case of "Skyline Fever" now.

1997 Subaru Impreza Turbo, a UK 4-door. It was fantastic, awesome, mega. But then I crashed it, and now I'm driving a 1.4 Renault 19 that cost £500.

HAH! I had an '81 Supra that I sold for $500. It had about 235,000 miles on it and an oil leak. It handled OK for a live rear axle car, but it had boatloads of torque in that 6ME engine!

My father used to fix his friend's collector cars, so I've gotten to drive some nice older ones: Alfa Spyder, Porsche 928, Maserati Bora, Lamborghini Espada, Ferrari 330 GTS. For what it's worth, most of those cars drive like trucks - bad ride, hard steering, high clutch effort, etc. Except that most trucks won't go that speed and handle like that!

We were doing some post-tuneup testing in the Bora and I passed a bicyclist while going about 115-120 mph. I sucked that poor guy out into the middle of the lane with the slipstream. On the return pass he gave me the finger.
The funniest time was in the Lamborghini. It belonged to a dentist who didn't really know how to drive it - he would putt around town like it was a Volvo or something, so it would load up and never run right. He complained that it didn't have any pickup. We got the car late one evening and I was driving home on a rural highway, so we decided to see what he meant. I punched it on the open road, and as soon as it had snorted and sneezed out all the crap, it was like the scene in Star Wars where they suddenly go to light speed. We were going so fast that normal highway curves felt like a slalom course. We came around one curve at about 140 or 145 mph. A half mile ahead I saw taillights, but I couldn't figure out how to take the headlights off high beam, and before I could slow down, the guy ahead of me moved way over onto the shoulder and cowered there until we blew past. I can't imagine how quickly we got bigger in his rearview...
