A ricer depends on if it is an idiot that "tunes" it but really don't know what they are doing, such as myself in gt5, iv'e got c9's, r92cp's, escudo's, i know what real racecars are and i know how to tune them , but i have trouble with street cars, as it happens my supra is a ricer because, i didn't mod it right

Just cause some MKIV were twin turbo and put out a decent amount of HP from the factory doesn't exclude all of them from falling in the ricer category. There are plenty of N/A MKIV's with horrible body kits and coffee can exhausts.

Hm, those rims look bad, but I wouldn`t call this car a ricer from the look.

IMO a ricer is a car with almost zero performance tuning, bad looking body kits, a strange colour and -last but not least- a stupid driver... ;)

Let's just clarify something. "Ricers" are usually not found on a track, if so it is probably a noob learning. If anything, "ricers" race quarter miles. Which is why I fail to see the point of this thread. GT5 is full of RACE TRACKS, and not drag strips. Now if you want a wing on your FWD car, then yes, it is probably rice... Though, it may serve some functionality given that the car actually puts down power.

And he here is the closest thing to an actual definition of the term ricer, other than that, it is not really defined.

1. A person who makes unecessary modifications to their most often import car (hence the term "rice") to make it (mostly make it look) faster. The most common modifications are (but not limited to):

- Huge exhaust that serves no purpose but to make the car louder
- Large spoiler on the back that looks like something Boeing made for the 747
- Lots of after-market company stickers they don't have parts from, but must be cool
- Expensive rims that usually cost more than the car itself
- Bodykit to make the car appear lower, usually accented with chicken wire
- Clear tail lights and corner signals
- A "performace intake"- a tube that feeds cold air to their engine usually located in areas of excessive heat (behind or on top of the engine)
- Most of these riced cars (a.k.a. rice rockets or rice burners) are imports; Honda Civics, Accords, Integras, CRXs, RSXs, Del Sols Mitsubishi Eclipses, Lancers, Subaru Imprezas, however there are some domestics such as Chevrolet Caviliers, Dodge Neons, Ford Focus; small, slow, economy cars designed specifically to go slow. Please note that some Supras, Skylines, WRX's and other higher performance imports are designed to go fast, and are therfore not always considered rice. It really depends on the severity of the case.

The "ricer" attempts to make their car "performance" by adding the modifications listed above. These ricers are not confined...

2. Ricer: An oriental car with no engine mods, a body kit, and possibly stickers. Made to look fast.
Not a ricer: An oriental car with a fully built engine, drive train, and suspension reguardless of appearance

3. Any person who adds tasteless modifications to a perfectly normal automobile.

Okay what is wrong with this supra, well the bodykit is okey, C-west. But i dont like those stickers, the cheap rims, and the cut out air intakes.

Cut out 'air intakes' (ventilation) are functional too:

While I always prefer the stock lines of Supra's, it's hard for me to fathem that with a front mount like that, the car doesn't produce atleast 290HP at the wheels. I cannot imagine that the Supra in question is running a naturally aspirated motor with a front mount as his intake piping, however wouldn't put it past some members of the show car crowd. If you've ever driven a car with 290HP and a rear wheel drive platform, you'd know just how easily it is to get in squirly moments if you get over ambitious.

The term 'ricer', is slanderous at best. This thread is completely out of line, and utterly useless.
