I actually have a lot of experience on this race as I am trying to win the S200 LM Race Car which is only available after this race but for some reason, I always end up winning the Storm V12 Race Car or some other "goodie". I must have done it 6 times so far.

If you want a sure win, you can take the Jaguar XJ220 Road Car or the R390Gt1 Road Car or the GT-One Road Car (T020). With the latter two especially, you should not have any problem achieveing 80-82 laps, which should put you ahead by 8 or 9 laps.

If you want some challenges, I suggest you try with the Zonda C12S, I managed 76 with Medium-Soft tires pitting every 5 laps. I found it quite difficult to win with the top of the line NSX, Skyline or even the Ruf CTR2.

P.S. I di not try any other pit strategy so your gues is as good as mine.

Damn S2000... how many times will I have to race it again.

Hey, NCC1701d, welcome to GTPlanet! Nice username... let's see, that would be the Picard-era Enterprise, wouldn't it?

Which NSX did you use - the Type Zero, or the Type :r:? If you are using T2 (super slicks) you should be able to pit every 15 laps or more, which gains a lot of time (at about 25 seconds per pit stop).

I see I am not the only TNG fan out here.

I used the type 0 NSX but all else equals (same tires), I struggled a lot more with it than with the Zonda. I can run 4 laps below 1,30:00 in the Zonda C12S before the need to pit, where I lose less than 20 seconds (about 16 sec. when pitting in and 3-4 sec. in the first lap out of the pit). I could not get below 1,35:000 steadily with the NSX and the same tires.

The Zonda just seemed the best solution after 5 tries.

I have completed the game at 100% and I am going back to study the optimal pit strategy in order to be ready when the Game goes on-line... The only problem is that I will have to work out all other adjustments (downforce, ride height...) to adjust so I might keep it this way.

It is sad to contemplate a game that used to be so hard but that has now become too easy. I am left re-racing a couple of events in order to win the few cars that I am missing (S200 LM Race Car and the Pennzoil Nismo Skyline).

i have my eyes set on winning a Dodge viper gts-r concept to do it, i am off now to win the gran turismo all-stars and get one there. so the game is going on-line... when??
please

Sorry Meglomaniac, I do not know precisely when Sony is going to unleash the on-line capability for their PS2 but that sounds very promising.

Right now the only thing that exists, and there are many of them, are Forums where somebody throws out a challenge to other board members. Take a specifc car, make specific mods are take it to a specific race in the game but I haven't formally participated. I just look at other people's time and laugh... most of the the time!

Ving? did you read the title of the thread?
It said stock car as in not modified at all apart from the tyre selection. Mind you I cant see most competent drivers having trouble winning this enduro with a stock RGT.

I used a Black NSX Type-R that I won from the amature type r cup, shod with slick tyres. Although that was a while ago so I cant remember what strategy I used. Mind you if I was going to do it again I would probably use a Mazda RX-7 or a Toyota Supra RZ for a bit of a challenge :D

Wow dude, I hate to be the one to break the news to you but:

Copied from the Prize Car list in this forum:

Amateur ~ Dream Car Championship -- Mitsubishi FTO LM Race Car, Mazda RX-7 LM Race Car, Honda S2000 LM Race Car, Subaru Impreza LM Race Car

Do the first pile of races, save after the second to last one... skip the last one (blah blah, you should know the drill) and hopefully you won't have to reload too many times before recieving a shiny new S2000 LM Race Car.

You must be pretty decent at that enduro now though!

In case you're running PAL (I listed the NTSC up there) that car can be won in the same series. Some of the other cars might be different, I didn't check for that, but the S2000 LM is there. Also, the Triangle Button techniqe seems to work really well for me. I have never gotten a car on the opposite side of where I pressed the button, and most of the time I get the car I press the button on, and when I don't, my timing may well have been off enough to get a car next to the one I wanted... it's worth a try and like I said, it seems to work great for me.

I guess it must sound pretty stupid but I did not realise until yesterday that I could get that car elsewhere (faster and more easily). It is also convenient to do it there because I am also missing the FTO Race Car.

I believe the only car I am missing now is the damn S2000 and a couple of NSX (Raybrig, Arta...)

So, which one is the model D.. the TNG one?

You know, it took me forever to get the S2000 as well. I'd completed 175% of game before intentionally going after it and getting one. It seems like GT3 is pretty greedy with them.

Hey Dolby....when do you press the triangle. Never read this but certainly willing to try?

Right when the four cars come up or when they start to slow down spinning?

You may press the triangle, the X, or whichever button whenever you choose. It has no bearing at all on what car you get.

The prize cars are chosen by a random number that is seeded from your lap time. You can't influence it; you can just run laps of differing time until your luck comes up.

PS to Dolbytone: The charming Mary from Canoga Park says "hi", and wants you to call her...

Hey Neon, don't piss all over my voodoo practices. If it seems to work for me then I'm going to do it, and you can be all gt.com you want, it won't change the way I do things so NYAAAAA! Yo mamma wears combat boots to church 'n stuff.

(heh, told him)

And about Mary, my respect for you just went up by a factor of 10. Not that it was necessarily down there to begin with and all.

:rotfl:
Hey, racing is chock full of voodoo, good luck charms, pre-race rituals, superstitions, etc. As long as you're aware that's what you're doing, then more power to you! Adds to the realism, right?
:smilewink And shucks, I'm honored. I was pleased to find you over at the Numbers, and more pleased to see the reference in your .sig. Another person moved to my mental "always read" list...

Toyota GT1 road, Nissan R390 GT1 road, Viper concept, Aston Martins, Jag XJ220, Dodge Viper, Chevy Corvette, Ford 'stang, Shelby Cobra, Z concept, or a hybrid car (if you can get it to show as "stock") one of these and you're good to go.
:burnout:

The Viper Concept... that's a very good idea. It should be enough for one or two laps more than the 76 I can do with the Zonda C12S.

No way I am doing this with my mint R390 and GT-One Road Cars. I consider these cars collectibles...

Acutally I would very like to know how many have other people achieved on this race as well as the car and pit strategy they were using.
