What is the deal with Simraceway?

So i have been researching various online racing games and am rather perplexed by the existence yet lack of information on Simraceway. So I was wondering if someone can explain the complete lack of any forums regarding the game and also how much of a sim it is as it is advertised as such, yet I have gotten the impression that it is not very sim like. So yeah what is the deal with it?
 
It started out as an rFactor modding community, until some guys thought "Hey let's make money on this!" They started selling it as Simraceway, but quality was not top notch here and there for a paid for game. Some of the cars used in the game were used without the permission of some of the modding community members, and many people in community found it better just to regroup to rFactor 2 or Stock Car Extreme, leaving Simraceway to fade away.
 
In terms of physics it was ok, but not as good as a good rFactor mod. All it was really good for was the sense of community that came from hanging out in the chatroom and talking to people you'd just raced with, much like GT5 or 6 lobby chat except everyone definitely had a keyboard in front of them so chatting was easier. Honestly there's no reason to mourn its loss unless you spent a lot of money on it.
 
Ah cool. Thanks for that. I was getting the impression it was kinda meh based on the reviews of the specialised wheel they made for it. Wont bother with it in the future then. Thanks again everyone.
 
I have enjoyed this sim , and now after my hardware upgrade it was difficult to just download. Short story short, I found a way, and have the game, but no cars yet... Seems SimRaceway is having some sort of difficulties. Wish they bounce back. So far it has let me enjoy COTA on PC>

It's basically dead. Staff are mostly gone, no updates, no events. Don't bother with it.

Simraceway's forum is the best source for informations about it's life and that includes updates about it's current state. Most of action happens in "Discuss Simraceway": http://community.simraceway.com/index.php/forum/64-discuss-simraceway/

Try to drop some of your grumpiness at the next pit stop, it will only help you.
 
Redirecting forum traffic is frowned upon here. Either you drop some info or you can kindly go back and try to keep SRW running on fumes.
 
I tried to copy the install from another disc to my new one. It failed out. I really want to get to COTA and in my Vette, but I can't :(
 
So, I try to visit the forum at Simraceway, apparently someone has flagged it as malware/dangerous site in firefox :(
