Hey milefile, you know, under your name how it sais no comment... how doy ou put that, do you have to have a certain amount of posts? Because I already have a custom avatar!
Its 500 posts, not 1000. This is stated in Questions and Comments.

On topic, Matrixhasu77 obviously came from The Matrix. More specificly, it came from the line on the computer screen when Neo wakes up and sees "The Matrix has you...". 7 just got tacked on there since its my favorite number.

It used to be 1000 before GTP5, though, right?

Nickname, also used as a CD Radio handle back in the day. It's short for, well.......it's a symbol of where I came from, growing up in Hawaii. It's also a reminder that people can change when faced with adversity and challenges in life, and that although you have changed, your still who you are.

It's also what people call me that know me from the "old" days and it's what most my close friends call me.

My mother calls me Gilbert, unless she has a "senior moment" and calls me by one of my older brother's names.

It used to be that I would get riled if I was called anything but Gilbert. Then I joined the military, where everybody either calls you by your last name, or the last four numbers of your SSN.
Of course, we all had nicknames. At this point, I'm a little to old to be known as "Bear".

Of course with Brothers named William and Phillip. (actually, half brothers, one my mother's son, and one my father's son).
We are Bill, Phil, and Gil.
Totally unplanned, and we rhyme.

There is already an identical thread somewhere around here. But my name is the same as Mazkids. Although, I don't really like my screenname, I might consider getting it changed.

Wasn't that from a muppet movie? Where is Jill?

We have no sisters. Hence, no Jill.
But we truly are Bill, Phil and Gil. I've found it pretty funny for a very long time.

I think it means, "Alternate Fate."

I hope you're kidding... if not, press "ALT" + "F8" on your keyboard.

For years in my AOL profile, I used to tell people to press "ALT" + "F" + "X" in order to chat with me.

Crap, my name is so... icky.

The name came from the days where the very first forum that I ever posted on was bicycling.com's forums... I decided to use "youth", since most of the members there are adults, and then "cycler" just naturally fit in with the air of the forum (duh!). So, I've used that name for practically every forum that I've registered to, even though I long ago quit cycling as a hobby.

Well, when I started out at the GTF, I tried several less-original names but they were taken. So I thought about the time my buddy and I were playing a NASCAR game from 1994...we were both Jewish, playing a game designed for "hicks"...so when it came time for team names, he came up with Altacaca (Old Fart) Racing, and I was Pupik Motorsports.

I used PM, but eventually truncated the name...I had no real motorsports advice to offer, anyhow. Pupik (pronounced \poop-ik\) means bellybutton or navel in Yiddish, which is a mix of Russian, German, Hebrew, and other Slavic languages. I know about 10 words, tops.

You probably know a few (and didn't know it), like schmuck, putz, and chutzpah.

Well, one time I went trail riding with friends, I came off my bike at about 40 mph and landed in a big mud puddle. I slid about 30 feet before coming to a stop at the base of a tree. There you have it - Sludge Slide.

Thanks! My goal is to have a russian name within my kids names. My oldest is Misha, then there's Tatiana. My next (and last) daughter's middle name will be Nataliya.

My name came from when I street raced by in the day when I thought it was cool to drive an import and drag race. The 780 came from some random number that flew off my head. So not a great story but that be it.

my initials are JJS.
utilizing basic denotations of algebra, when a=5, a2=10; i.e., placing a scalar next to a (letter) variable means to multiply that variable by said number.

Now why do you have to go and ruin things by saying things like "scalar".

where do i start....
I have been thru so many names (online) that, well i have lost count.

Ving:
Once upon a time there was this guy (me) called gumby who played unreal online (badly). then unreal tournament came out, which gumby snapped up and played successfully for some time, untill others playing got experienced/ broadband.
Gumby one day decided to go professional and join a clan. he was approached by a guy from brisbane called Mr Moo and jumped aboard this fellows clan.
gumby [MOO] (<---clan tag) didnt fit well so a change of name was needed.
after much thought the following was used:
[MOO]ving_Target
of which ving became the abreviation.
now i use ving everywhere, reguardless of forum.

intersting side note.
I once also use "Captian Kinky" as a name.... successfully at that ;)
