I had not been confident enough to run LMPs (not to mention FGT & X1) on Nurburgring, although I did it once in the Gran Turismo All Star event with an R92CP and I got a 6:09. And this morning I decided to try once in time trial mode where you cannot be dirty & blocked by the AI.
I had a GT-One with Stage 3 Turbo. With racing hards & tuning to make it oversteer, ran a 6:08 this morning.
Then I changed to a Speed 8 with a lot more torque but less power, without the turbokit(821HP), made it understeer, also on racing hards, and to my surprise, a 6:01 on the opening lap, made a moderately big mistake(4 wheel on grass once but managed to recover
). I've not tried racing softs yet, (you can see how rarely I use them
)but I doubt I'm gonna make it any further.
I'm a really mediocre DS3 driver who struggle to keep most of the high BHP cars on the track without the line assist(well...on any circuits...I therefore use a lot of unnecessary early/heavy braking and realise it while exiting), nor can I gold most of the license tests. I'm just wondering, is 6:00 a laptime you have to get on those 828HP, 900kg Le Mans monsters if you want to call yourself an so-so/O.K. driver? Or 5:50?5:40? I mean this particular time means to me... like a 108% thingy in previous F1 regulations,
and tells me how much more I need to work to be OK. Cause if I'm too faraway I might just give up
.
& Besides, how about other things, say for JGTC cars I used a stock Mobil 1 NSX with racing hards & no tuning at all, I could get a red 6:39, barely.
